Most helpful and knowledgeable lady. If you need help or instructions she is the person to see.
Albuquerque Photo-Tech is the only place I believe in New Mexico, and certainly in Albuquerque and Santa Fe (I called around widely), who does sensor cleanings. They do other services and repairs too, and sell gear.I was in from Chicago and literally about to hit the road on a week long shoot in the remote Four Corners area when my Fuji X-T3 suddenly needed a sensor cleaning. What a mess!!! I had them do my X-T20 as well, plus clean my lenses too. They did a great job on a drop everything, rush basis while I waited. Amazing!!!This is the sort of local, family owned shop you hope to find. They have extensive experience and training. Their work room is filled with service manuals, and they have all the needed equipment. Plus, they sell camera gear and accessories.Albuquerque Photo-Tech provides highly competent, professional, caring service done with a smile. This place is a real find, and saved my long planned photo trip and shoot.Thank you Albuquerque Photo-Tech!!!! Youre the best.
I brought my camera in to be cleaned, they did a wonderful job, after I decided to take the class to learn how to operate my digital camera to its full potential. I truly enjoyed the class and learned so much more than the instructions that came with my camera! Left with notes and a better understanding of my camera!
Best analog camera shop in Albuquerque, if not New Mexico. The owner is extremely skilled, knowledgeable, and helpful as well!
I have found this place to be most helpful over many years. I got a new camera recently that I thought needed to be cleaned or fixed, and the owner in a matter of minutes told me what was wrong and she righted it. I will be having a class to learn more about this complicated machine!
Just bought a battery and charger for my wifes camera while on vacation. Lady was very nice and helpful.
So I had originally come to this store looking to have a Konica camera, purchased from Ebay, checked and potentially repaired. The owner had then revealed to me that the camera was in poor working order with the light meter being off and the film bay being compromised. Of course I was sad, but she had shown me some of her own stock that she keeps handy. All of which are repaired and warrantied by her. I had returned the faulty camera and about a few weeks ago (Maybe 4 days ago) returned to her store ready to buy.She got me set up with an Olympus OM-1 SLR film camera, and gave me a brief lesson on how to operate it (I own a mirrorless but this is way different.) She even noticed a minor issue with the counter, and fixed it before I took possession of the camera. Barely an hour into me having the camera, I had knocked the film rewind loose while trying to practice rewinding film. I ended up ruining a roll of film trying to take it out, and was left with the camera having a displaced film rewind loose in the camera. Just yesterday, June 7th, I returned to her store, ready to pay for repairs as it was my fault it happened, and not only did she fix the issue in record time for no charge, she gave me a fresh roll of film to replace the one I had ruined, again for no charge. Now I have an Olympus OM-1 in tip-top shape and Im excited to shoot with it.The owner is professional, knowledgeable, and very kind. Her store is small, but intriguing as she carries old film cameras of ALL kinds. Her stock of working cameras is respectable and her accountability for them is commendable. If you find yourself looking for old 35mm SLR film cameras, want to see about getting one repaired, or just wanna buy film or memory cards, stop on by its worth it.
First of all support local businesses. So if you need a camera repaired this is the place to go. The woman working there is literally the nicest woman I have come across in a long time. She fixed my camera and she knows I have young children so she let me take the camera with a balance still remaining. Not saying shell do that for everybody but Im saying how wonderful of a person she is. She is professional and if she cant repair the camera she knows where to send it to get fixed. Made me believe that there are still good people in this world
Great service. Got my camera cleaned the same day at a reasonable price.
Great place, all the film gear ever needed. 😆
A store that seems to provide all services. My wife and I just happened to stumble upon this store (shes taken up photography recently) so we went it. The store owner is super cool and down to earth. She knows her stuff and also has classes available for photographers of all levels. We talked with her for quite some time and I can see a teaching spirit in her. I only give 4 stars because Ive only visited once.
The owner is wonderful to work with!
Called in about a couple of questions on the canon 6D, they gave me the answers I needed and looked up the phone number for canon if I wanted to basically double check on any reliability issues. Great customer service, didnt make me feel like I was an inconvenience. Will be doing business here.
I always love this place, they have old film cameras as well as digital, and every lens you could possible need. And the staff is super knowledgeable. I will always enjoy taking a visit. This place is amazing.😊
The lady is absolutely amazing. Went in because my film camera wasn’t rewinding and comes to find out my film camera can no longer rewind. However, she did it manually in her darkroom and offered to do it every time i need my film taken out. She also wouldn’t even let me pay her for her extremely caring customer service. Best customer service I have every received.
Owner is great to work with.
Extremely knowledgeable and very helpful service! I took my AE-1 Program in to see if it needed some servicing and Vicki was able check it out very quickly and help me trouble shoot.Definitely will be back.
I came here looking to get a camera off craigslist fixed, that one turned out to be trashed. But Vicki set me up with a great Canon FTb and I’ve been obsessed ever since. This is a great shop for repairs, new purchases, and learning more about photography in general, highly recommend!
Got my film camera fixed at Albuquerque Photo-Tech in under 10 minutes after a shop in Santa Fe told me it was dead. Vicki knew exactly what to do and gave wonderful advice! Excellent customer service, I wish I could give this place 10 stars.
I had a great experience dropping my camera off for cleaning. As an amateur photographer I don’t know all the ins and outs of photography and Vicki’s private lesson class was extremely helpful. She taught me about setting and buttons that I had never used before. I would highly recommend her private lesson and their services!
Love this shop. the owner is absolutely wonderful. so attentive, so helpful, just lovely in every way. i highly recommend!
Best camera services in Albuquerque!
Not only did I get my first Nikon from APT but when I purchased my second Nikon, I was guided through how to operate it thoroughly. I never would have gotten this kind of professional treatment from any other place, and especially from some box store. These people are one of a kind and made sure I was always taken care of completely! There is a reason why family owned small businesses are better!
These guys are great and there are very few of these camera repair people left. They are a treasure and a resource we will lose soon. Very knowledgeable and friendly. They also have lots of 35 mm and digital cameras to choose from.
WOW! A really honest and upfront dealer. She did not try to sell me a new camera (it still works but cant download pics from it). She suggested just using a card reader and bypassing the camera. She also told me to go home and look at the computer I bought last year for a card reader instead of trying to sell me one. I came home and the computer does have a reader. She saved me a lot of $$$. When I need something I will go see her first! It is so refreshing to find someone that will tell me if I need it or not. I am really impressed with her. Thank you so much, I highly reccomend her
The Front desk lady was really nice and very helpful helping take the lens hood off my fish eye lens. I recommend this place for any camera repairs, the staff is very knowledgeable. Also If your a fan of collecting classic cameras this place is a must check out.
First time customer, but definitely will return. Busy when I came in, but all customers in line were treated patiently and respectfully. Had full-frame scary sensor dirt/grease issues. Took time to examine under microscope and assured me it was on surface. Offered to complete cleaning same day (not needed but the offer appreciated!). Picked up camera, passed sensor test perfectly, and Vicki explained sources of contamination and steps to minimize chance of reoccurrence. Very competent.
Vicki has always been accommodating every time I needed a camera fixed, lens fixed or either cleaned, very honest and helpful in all camera recommendations and purchases, half my loyalty to Nikon now is being able to have it repaired by their shop. It’s also nice to have lens rental options here in town.
Just finished a photography lesson. Vicki is an excellent instructor. The pace fit my learning style. I never knew my camera had so many features but Vicki expertly guided through the various functions with clarity all the while she wrote down the notes the I can reference later. Highly recommend this course well worth it and an exceptional price for one on one learning! Both owners were friendly not only to me but to the several customers that came into the shop as well. Thank you Vicki
Recently bought a used cannon dslr. I noticed that it needed some professional maintenance done. Did some research in town for some camera stores and came across this. Went in early morning and was not even greeted coming in. It seemed like I was inconvenient to the person there. Eventually spoke to the shop keeper and was told that “ if it’s not affecting my picture it’s just fine”. I at least expected for the camera to be fully diagnosed just to be sure it fully operational. I will gladly take my business elsewhere especially unsatisfactory customer service.
What a great place. Just saved us tonight for a important gig. Stays open later sometimes and you can tell she works hard and knows her stuff. Vicki thank you again!!
Good advice. Fun collection of old cameras. Very friendly service.
Honest people. They got my a7 working like new in in hours. Super quick and professional thanks!
This shop regularly cleans the sensor on my Leica SL, and helps me with various equipment issues as they arise. Its nice to have a reliable camera-repair shop in New Mexico, and this is our best one.
Vicki absolutely went the extra 30 miles to secure a critical part for my husband, that the manufacturer was incapable of tracking down. AP-T is the place to go for reliable service based in knowledgeable integrity.
Tough personality but lots of knowledge about cameras and all youll ever need for a camera.
I took my camera in for a broken LCD screen recently and I had great service. I was expecting to pay a lot for the repair, but was at a great, decent price. I expected the repair to take a while, but they managed to repair my camera within the week the part came in! I was very pleased and would highly recommend taking your cameras here.
We were visiting and our cameria wasnt working, so the owner said to bring it in for free and she could take a look and see it was a simple fix. Turns out it was a simple fix, but she could have easily charged us for her time. Really nice and helpful!!!
Needed my Nikon sensor cleaned. Left it off with 3 lenses and ready the next day at noon. Excellent service and friendly people. Highly recommend!
I appreciate how straight forward Vicki is. I didn’t work with her husband, but I can assume he’s just as pleasant to work with. I brought in a lens that was thrown in with the DSLR I just purchased. The seller advised that it was broken but I could have it and hopefully get it repaired cheaply, Vicki tested it on her camera and it worked well. She advised that it needed nothing, and offered a uv filter explaining the importance. I returned for a basic technical lesson with my new camera body and she was accommodating of my schedule and went in depth on all of the controls, and had patience when i would ask her to repeat or further explain something. I cannot wait to practice with everything. Thanks Vicki!!
This is a great camera store! We had a Canon lens that was broken, and we had been dreading taking it to anyone figuring it would be expensive to repair. The tightening ring would not release for us, but they had it fixed in about two minutes! They even cleaned it as well! They did all the work for free!!!! What great people to deal with!
All I usually get done here is negative developing, so I dont know how their prints are, but they have always been helpful and nice. Ive never gotten poor service.
This is a great shop for pros or camera enthusiasts. Vicki is really helpful and even teaches private classes for budding photographers!
I took my camera in to get repaired. They took my money and told me it couldnt be repaired. They charge me $60 just to look at it. They claim they called Cannon.. I went home and called Canon and sent them my camera and they fixed it. They pretty much lied to me at this camera store.
Awesome camera Shop If your looking to buy a camera or take photography lessons this is the place to go in Albuquerque. APT is also a an authorized Nikon camera repair shop if you need your camera fixed.
These people are so helpful! They do a great job with repairs and are a great source of knowledge!
Absolutely EXCELLENT service - and fast as hell! I was in need of a lens repair for a shoot later on in the week and they were able to repair the lens AHEAD of schedule! I absolutely recommend them for professionals.
These ladies know their stuff and were not only kind but extremely helpful!
A good place for camera repair. I have used them for many years for a variety of camera and lens repairs.
Great camera repair and quick turn around time, very knowledgeable staff. Vicki provides A-1 attention to service and details.
How fortunate we are to have highly skilled camera repair services available in Albuquerque. Excellent service, friendly, fair prices, I have experienced very good results with their services every time I have needed them.
Awesome place to buy older cameras, camera equipment or take classes.
Had a cross threaded filter that I could not remove they popped it off in a moment and i was out the doie. Very reasonable price
Visited with a dust question - she said Return it to the manufacturer because the dust was between the lens and the sensor... well, duh... however, the GX7 is a micro 4/3 interchangeable lens camera I even said that. She only seems to know obsolete technology.
Awesome!! Very nice and helpful, they have a return customer in me. Thank you!
Super friendly and helpful!
Poor customer service, grumpy owner, and lacks real photography knowledge. But, conveniently located.
Highly recommended, very detailed!!!
Best camera shop in all of the Southwest!A store by photographers for photographers
