New to abq and was missing my go to chocolatier Coco Dulce in Wichita KS, and found this one!!! Im pleased to say I am excited about my chocolates!! They also have gelato so got a carton of their carrot cake flavor!! The ultra dark chocolate is da bomb!! Cant eat them all at once or maybe I will!!!!

Started out so good, then went downhill very quickly. I started off with a bag of double dark chocolate covered espresso beans. I thought I would pop one in my mouth every once in awhile as I worked. Oh but I was in for a terrible surprise. The flavor.....it made me want to keep eating them! I thought, the nerve of these people, they should know better! I quickly discarded the empty bag and moved on to the dark chocolate bar in the hopes of an awful bitter taste that would make me stop my chocolate eating obsession. Again, each bite was worse and worse! At this point, I am not even able to continue working and can only focus on the chocolate bar. Ok, I must stop this before it gets any worse. Milk chocolate covered almonds. Fingers crossed. Disappointed again. I can hear my doctors voice in my head. Is this real? Am I real? Nothing has meaning any longer. I think my blood is now 99% chocolate and I must be giving off a chocolate scent as I see a gathering of co-workers outside of my office. I must hide the chocolate! They cant have any....its all mine...my precious!

This sorbet is freaking amazing. I randomly picked up two pints at Whole Foods last week wanting to try a local product, and am now a devotee. The mango and passion fruit is creamy and tart. I’ve started using it to make a tequila punch cocktail, and it’s bonkers. The Mayan chocolate is spiced to perfection. I cannot wait to actually make it into the store to get my hands on the flourless chocolate cake! Keep doing what you do, because you’re doing it beautifully.

So very yummy. So many flavors of Gelato. Nicely decorated. Fancy chocolates perfect for Valentines day coming up! Chocolate Cartel is the new go to for the sweet tooth!

I don’t know where to begin. This place is amazing. Yeah so many different options as well as one of my favorites as of now. Is espresso chocolate has a nice kick with amazing flavor. Some chocolate with some green chili topping powder. So sweet with a good kick. Highly recommend making this place to stop and try. It will make you rethink chocolate.

The staff was extremely helpful, in letting us try many different chocolates before making our selections. Theres many different varieties to choose from. I personally enjoyed the many different truffles!

Loved the blueberry & port the best. The liqueur filled truffles were also delightful. The dark chocolate was smooth and rich. Go ahead and indulge! You’ll be glad you gave these a try.

This was our first time here and it didnt disappoint. The chocolates were beautiful, but we got gelato instead. I had the mint chocolate chip and my daughter got the blueberry lavender. The mint chocolate chip was delicious and the blueberry lavender was a pleasant surprise of deliciousness. It wasnt one flavor overpowering the other, it was a great balance. Well be back 😊.

Smells like heaven when you walk in. Ive only tried the cinnamon milk chocolate truffle so far and it just melts in your mouth. The workers were very friendly as well.

I happen to stop at the co op to get some gelato, stumbled upon choc chunk gelato, and that was it! found out they are local and stopped by their store at 315 Juan Tabo Blvd NE....This place is amazing! worth going to try.....

Wonderful selection! The staff is extremely helpful. Ive been buying chocolates for my wife & daughters here for years and hope to continue doing so. If your feeling bold..try a Diablo bar. Gelato is delicious also.

This has got to be my new favorite chocolate shop. It is so amazing. I love the way they offer such a varied selection, including chocolate that is cooked with red and green chile. By the way it is so good you must try. They also have very good dark chocolates, chocolate truffles, chocolate dipped treats, and all sorts of other awesome stuff. When I lived in Albuquerque NM, my apartment was very close to this shop, and I remember when they opened this location. At the time they were planning to open this incredible chocolate experience, or at least they were talking about it. Creating an hour long experience of multiple courses of desert with chocolate as the theme. I have since moved away and lost track of these guys but just today was thinking about chocolate and wondering if they still had this beautiful quaint shop for the best chocolate I have ever eaten in my life. Happy to see they are still going strong and now going to have to order some chocolate.

OMG! THE TURTLE PECAN IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Everything is great here. This is a small local business with great customer service. They also just opened up a second location in Old Town. It is in a alley so keep your eyes peeled!

This is by far one of the best chocolate places Ive ever been to. The chocolates are as good as youll find anywhere in the world and the staff is super friendly and helpful.

There are few places in the country that make such high quality chocolates. The fact that their gelato and sorbet is just as good and you have a must visit shop. The people are friendly and knowledgeable generally offering samples to help you decide.

I love this place! Nutty chocolate, Carmel chocolate, chili chocolate, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, chocolate chocolate!!! Sorbet gelato, treats it is all fantastic, I will not go elsewhere for my treats! Apart from products staff is awesome always friendly and informative! Recommend to everyone!

Anyone who LOVES chocolate will NOT be disappointed. And if you think youve had good chocolates, think again! Their truffles are what most will like. The flavors are so intense, but strangely not too intense. Just when you think the flavor is too much, the chocolate shines through to smooth out the intensity. And the flavors are not sugar induced like most other places. I have NEVER had better chocolate truffles. Would love to see them do a Cognac filled candy.Their signature 90% dark chocolate bar is smooth and strong without being bitter and burnt flavored. Their Gelato is second to none with flavor so mouth punching it will split your lip. The reason? I asked...apparently they dont use mixes or flavor syrups. Everything is natural and made in-house. It shows.Last but not least, the service. I went in explaining I was new to the area. The co-owner explained the history. When I came back with my better half, he put up with our indecision, labeled our hand-picked box of chocolate truffles, and gave us an anniversary gift on the house. Ive had good service in my many travels, Chocolate Cartel is among the top performers on all fronts.

A true hidden gem. They have some of the beat gelatos and sorbets for sale, and the chocolates are some of the best Ive seen. So many good options! So so so SO many!

Holy cow, the other reviews were not kidding. Right now the l Chocolate Cartels gelato is #1 in my heart. I havent had some this good outside of Italy (theyre sold under the name Van Rixel Bros Gelato and Sorbet). Upon walking in, the place smells like heaven. You can get the chocolate bars and gelatos in Whole Foods, but come to the store for seasonal flavors and the truffles. After extensively traveling in Europe, Asia, and most of the US, Im not kidding when I say Ive found my favorite espresso gelato here in ABQ. Chatting with the chocolate masters, you can tell how devoted they are and I do believe you can taste the difference. Ive visited twice now (and counting), and Im going to keep visiting till Ive tried every flavor at least twice. Other than the espresso gelato, there is also a caramel mocha, bananas foster, blueberry lavendar, and an array of sorbets you must try!
