I had a really fantastic experience here. I got a new catalytic converter here and they did it same-day, for less than half of the price that another business wanted to charge me. They were professional and accommodating, and worked very quickly. Hands down best mechanic Ive ever gone to. Special thanks to Abel for making me feel welcome and making sure I understood everything they were doing.

Support a local business. I came at 9am and the guy showed me what was wrong for free then gave me a price estimate for 2 different options and told me the pros and cons of each option. I Fixed it in 30 minutes for $155. I overheard the estimates for other customers in the shop and they were all reasonable priced. Another shop, EVC, quoted me $250+ for the same thing I did here. If you call here and there is no answer its only because they may only have one guy working and he tends to all the customers and answers the phone. Just come first thing when they are open and theyll fix it fast and for a good price.

Now its not everyday I let somebody work on my car but go they can hook you up and they do flawless welding for pretty cheap

The best machanic in town will never go anywhere else been fix my cars for at least 6 years and never had a problem.

Abel at the shop was very professional and courteous. The weld and hang took less than an hour to complete. Given it was a relatively easy job as a cut & weld should run. I will be using this shop for more exhaust modifications in the future. It really is hard to find an individual/team that provides great service and doesn’t overcharge as some shops tend to do. I called several shops in the metro and they all tried selling me their products as well as quote outrageous amounts for what I was asking. No thanks. I found the gem amidst the coyotes.

Finally a person who found the noise my car was making when accelerating it. I visited 3 shops prior to this one and they all had different diagnostics, such as nothing was wrong, and a broken muffler. They found out it was the flex pipe rattling and the resonator was cracked, they replaced it in less than an hour. I highly recommend this place, and their prices are amazing!!!!!!!!!

Abel does excellent work. I took my 2000 BMW 323i there last year, and within the last few days I took my 95 Eclipse in because I wanted a full exhaust but Abel made something completely wild out of it, it sounds like I’ve got a brand new car out of the modifications he made. He explained to me my cars problems and d cost of parts in very honest and disclosed manner. Not only he is very very knowledgeable mechanic, but also he is very honest and fair. He repaired my car with best parts and he paid great deal of attention and care while fixing d car. Despite that, his repairs cost were reasonable and very cheap and affordable. Awesome service. My son and I were travelling from Maryland to Phoenix and our catalytic converter failed on the way into Albuquerque. I looked up shops and found this one (top of the list -- AAA helps) with 4.9 stars and nearly 80 reviews. Clearly hes doing something right. I called and Abel answered, gave me an instant and very reasonable quote, and ordered the part as soon as I committed to bring my sons car in for repairs. He found that it was my secondary catalytic converter, not the primary, and saved me $300 on the repair. It took less than 3 hours and he gladly let me inspect the work and showed my the old clogged converter (it was ugly). Awesome guy, hard working, and customers in the lounge swear by him. I highly recommend his services - Im from back east and its hard to find a good, trust-worthy mechanic where Ive lived all my life. To find one 2,000 miles away who lives up to his reviews was a remarkable experience. If you live in the Albuquerque area or are just passing through and need exhaust system service, you cant do better than Abels shop. Id give him 6 out of 5 stars if I could.

I was all set to pay Meineke over $500 to replace my catalytic converter to stop the exhaust rattle, but Abel at AAA Mufflers was able to simply weld an exhaust clamp, fixing my issue for less than a tenth of the cost. Honest mechanics are not a thing of the past. These guys deserve your business!

These guys were awesome! They are fast, efficient, friendly, and thorough crew if your vehicle is needing repairs. They were very transparent during the whole process: from before the repair where they showed me where my problem existed, to during the repair and keeping me up-to-date with any new issues that happened during the troubleshoot, and even down to the follow up and making sure my car was functioning properly, even beyond the repair. The only thing more surprising than their elite service, would be their reasonable pricing on their quality work. Overall, I would recommend to anyone who needs quality work, or just a fair opinion! I had been told that the rattling under my car was a catalytic converter that was burnt.Tony at AAA Discount was very helpful in showing me that it wasnt so...it was my muffler. Although I had a life time warranty at a chain store,(& I do not know if that includes the labor) Tony offered a new muffler installed for $89 which I took advantage of. The install was done quickly and the wait was pleasant. This family owned and operated business is well worth supporting and although I live 60 miles away, I will come back when Im in the area if I eventually do need the cats replaced. FIVE STARS!

Walked in today and walked out with a completely new exhaust system for a excellent price. Saved $100 compared to the other shops I called. The guys working in the shop are extremely friendly and had me on my way home in under 40 minutes. I HIGHLY recommend these guys!

Highly recommended! I took my subaru in for a new catalytic converter. Not only did it cost me half what other shops quoted me, the guys were honest and extremely helpful. As a woman who doesnt know much about cars I often feel talked down to and taken advantage of by mechanics, but not here. Taylor, the owner, patiently talked me through what was going on with my car and was kind, honest, and helpful. There was a mechanic next door named Abel who was very knowledgeable as well, and these guys went above and beyond to help me troubleshoot a completely unrelated problem (at no extra charge). Not many muffler shops open on a saturday. I called and was told to come down I was in and out in an hour! Cant beat the prices and friendly customer service! My truck sounds bad ass! Ill be back for any other work in the future!!

RIPOFF! BEWARE! Instead of replacing the entire exhaust system they cut the pipe behind the catalytic converter and welded on the new one. They did not tell me they would do this. I requested a bid to replace the catalytic converter to the muffler. Plus they upped the amount by $25 AFTER they had my car and were working on it because they said the converter was hard to get to. I had received a bid from Midas for $310 to replace the catalytic converter and pipe. This place did a patch job for $265. I wish I had gone with Midas. Lesson learned, but I had to share my experience with others.

Took my 06 mini Cooper S to get some, not-so-easy, custom exhaust work done, price was GREAT and the work was EVEN BETTER!! Ill be coming soon for more work. Very friendly and honest.-josh

No one answers the phone, and the voicemail is full. I wanted to give them a chance to redeem their selves. They originally did a great job at a great price but later, hardware came off the first converter, couldnt get ahold of them so I fixed it myself. I have a new problem with it and cant get ahold of anyone!! Stay away, cheap isnt always worth it.

Been shopping around to fix my muffler on my Chevy blazer I called AAA Discount mufflers they took their time and explained what might be wrong with my car. they were pretty thorough on the phone and made me feel good about what might be wrong so I took the car in and it was just a pipe that was broke and they fixed it and also fixed a broken hanger at no charge all while I waited they were honest and sincere about the repair. Staff at AAA is some of the most professional I have met in Albuquerque.They modded my 2002 Mini Cooper and were very pleasant, and actually enjoy doing their work.

My cars exhaust pipe needed to be replaced and instead of just going with the easy way out they found a way to replace it and help my car run better by doing so.

I took my own muffler in to be installed, Taylor and his team did a awsome job!..wait time was very reasonable and was about half the price of some of the other shops on central!

The person I spoke to appeared to care about my car problem. I asked him to please call me if he felt he could do the work for me....I never got a call back.

I took my 2004 Chevy Silverado to midas and received a quote for 1500$ to replace the catalytic converters. I went down to AAA and they did all the work for less than half of what midas wanted. I was finally able to pass emissions and get my vehicle registered. These guys are great, very courteous and professional. I would recommend them to everyone.
