Since Jim had done an excellent job making a special threshold for me several years ago, I went back to him to make a paper ladder that I had designed for my art studio -- to store all of my decorative art papers. The ladder is crafted along the lines of a quilt or blanket ladder -- from milled poplar -- I stained the poplar to match my studio door, sealed it, inserted 1-1/4 PVC in the specially drilled holes, and voila -- perfect paper storage!

Jim at CC Mouldings built two mantels and a floating shelf and I could not be happier with the end products! I have a dual-sided fireplace and wanted a traditional looking mantel rather than tile. He took my sketched design and turned it into real life. They both fit like a glove (installation was SO easy, we were able to do it ourselves in about an hour) and match the cabinetry in my home perfectly. The cost was very reasonable for the high quality workmanship that Jim provides; I would recommend his custom mantels over any pre-fab mantels that you can find online. He even made a secret panel to cover the fireplace switches on the mantel and the floating shelf had a secret panel to store a surge protector and hide all of the wires. If you need any custom woodworking, Jim is the person you need to talk to!

Awesome priceing and great service.

I recommend this place to my boyfriend due to a positive experience a friend had. We needed two small pieces made to replace two broken legs on an antique dresser. He took in the piece on a Wednesday and was told it would be done by the end of the following week. At the end of the following week it was not done and they said a couple more days. A couple more days go by and he calls and asks about the order and they say a couple more days. He calls again and asks if it will be done and he was told not a chance. In total, he was told it would be completed 3 different times, all 3 times it was not. This happened over a two 1/2 week period. He canceled the order. Please do not tell people you are able to do something when you can’t. We had a deadline to meet with the furniture piece that we are now scrambling to figure out how to meet it. If we had been told in the beginning that they wouldn’t be able to meet our need that would have given us time to find another solution.

Just spoke to Jim the owner of CC Mouldings about needing an estimate for some faux ceiling beams at my commercial project here in ABQ / instead of being friendly and personable like the other reviewers wrote, I got the impression that Jim didnt need my business and refused to refer other millwork shops that could be of help to me / in these difficult times people like Jim should never turn away any business because you never know what happens...

Jim did a wonderful job of creating a one of a kind art piece out of his own reclaimed wood for our restaurant. He was easy to work with and always listened to us and was able to take our ideas and create a custom design that exceeded our expectations. We receive many compliments about the piece from our guests and it is a focal point in the restaurant. We are very happy we found Jim, and recommend him as a fine craftsman.

Jim did an AMAZING job reconfiguring a store bought island cabinet to custom fit the space in our kitchen. It required taking the cabinet apart, adding new pieces, and he had to match the stain for those new pieces. The project ended up being more intensive than he had anticipated, and we told him he absolutely could charge above the quoted price, but he stuck to his original price, which is just another example of how awesome he is! He did beautiful work and I would absolutely recommend him to my friends and anyone in the market for an incredible woodworker!

Ive used CC Mouldings products for years and without a doubt they are the most cost effective and best quality in Albuquerque. I recently had CC manufacture stair treads for a project I was working on. I cant begin to explain how thorough and professionally done the finished product was. The treads were cut to my measurements and then stained and sealed. It made installation a breeze. The cost was actually LOWER than purchasing treads from one the Big Box Stores. If you want a lot bigger choice of trim than you can get at Home Depot or Lowes, you can find it at CCs. They will also help come up with lots of solutions on how to get the look you want with trims. We have been remodeling our house for a few years, and have gotten great results using the selection and help from the people at CCs.
