Originally had an appointment scheduled for a windshield replacement. Show up, drop off my car, then received a call from them TWO HOURS later stating that the replacement windshield was broken and they couldn’t do the work. I then rescheduled and they replaced my windshield and wipers. I learned while it was pouring rain on the highway that the wipers had been installed backwards, and the plastic guard was left on one of them. Not just inconvenient, but a major safety issue. Entirely unacceptable and I’m grateful that it didn’t cause an accident. Their prices are already sky high, but neglectful service is the real problem. Would give 0/4 if I could. Never again.

So unprofessional had to fix my windshield multiple times. They cut my ceiling multiple times. The inside of vehicle was water damage and then I was told its all preexisting issues and I am still waiting for my ceiling to be repaired per MR. BRANDON AT THE ARLINGTON VA LOCATION LOCATED ON WASHINGTON BLVD. IT DOESNT TAKE CORPORATE THIS LONG TO RESPOND WITH A LIFETIME WARRANTY /GUARANTEE. For Christ sake. No promotion or demotion: I visited the Alexandria location and found that the technicians were very nice people but the women (she) in the Lobby is the rudest person I have ever experienced in my life. I would suggest training, job rotation or dismissal.She ordered my windshield which was found cracked by the technician and asked me that she will order the next one and will give me a call back BUT since that I did not receive any call.

I know most times we tend to find well known company’s when we look for services. This does not always mean you will receive the best experience. If you ask me, find a local shop in the neighborhood and support them. My car was broken into, early morning, on June 5th. I scheduled my first appointment on June 5th. It’s now July 23rd and they just rescheduled my appointment yet again. This would be the 4th time my appointment has been rescheduled with this company. From a technician coming out and ultimately telling me he could not fix it, to me taking off work and dropping my car off for them to tell me they need to order additional parts. I’ve been riding my vehicle with a shattered passenger frontside window and a completely empty backside passenger window, for almost 2 months. Unacceptable!!! Forget the experience of having your vehicle broken into, but to then have to go through this, after that fact, so frustrating. In the end, I went to a local shop, he ordered the parts, and in 3 days my windows were installed for almost half the price.

I had to have my windshield replaced after a rock hit it an made a sizable crack. I made an appointment online for an in-shop replacement and the process was pretty easy. When I arrived at the shop for the appointment though the shop didnt have the right windshield in stock so I had to reschedule the appointment to give them time to order the correct windshield. The delay was a little annoying but they were very responsive in getting the new appt set up as quickly as possible. The technician, Terrance, that handled the replacement when I returned was fantastic. He did a great job, was finished on time and very easy to work with and professional. Id recommend requesting him if you choose an in shop replacement. Overall, the experience was great and the only reason I dont give them five stars was because of the initial delay on having the right windshield.

The worker was nice but there was a problem recalibrating my windshield and no one called to tell me until 20 minutes before closing. I opted for text message updates for a reason. I barely made it to the shop to pick up my vehicle before closing time. I couldnt even get anyone on the phone at the shop to get updates. The work was spot on though and I am satisfied with it but the customer communication could use some work.

I called Safelite to ask question about having my window replaced.. They have no customer service agents to answer any questions. When you call any location it sends you to a main line that says you can go online to schedule the service and pay. This is a red flag that you cant speak withsomeone and ask questions about the service.... also this would be very concerning if I scheduled their service and something went wrong later. The customer service number that they have does not allow you to speak with an agent ... I even went through the prompts as if I was an existing customer and it told me I need to go online to schedule a follow up. This would piss me off if I had an issue after. I see other reviews of people having issues and cant get a real person on the line for support... red flags!

I’d like to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I just can’t help but think they tried to scam me. I went to the Safelite website, got an estimate, and scheduled a time to replace my windshield at the local Alexandria shop. Upon arrival on 4/23/21, the technician immediately informed me that my Mazda’s moldings around the top and side of the windshield would likely break while removing the glass, and, of course, they do not stock them. Ok, fine; we decided that the Alexandria shop would call a Mazda dealer for the trim, and I’ll come back another day. The Alexandria shop then calls me and proceeds to quote $460 or approximately 60%, yes 60%, of the originally quoted price for these plastic trim moldings. The total price had increased to under $1300. Since the cost now significantly exceeded my deductible, I filed an insurance claim. On 5/5/21, the Alexandria shop quoted GEICO $799 for the repairs and said that the moldings were not needed. “If by chance they broke, they would be covered under the warranty”, the Alexandria shop told the GEICO agent. GEICO had me on hold and relayed the conversation to me. So, at the end of the day, it seems they were trying to charge me approximately $450 for something that was totally covered under their warranty. I don’t like making accusations, but something sure doesn’t seem right.

First let me start by saying i waited a few days to get in for an appt. & didnt read reviews until the night before, After reading i started to regret my decision on choosing them considering most of the negative reviews were for the same reason as my visit ( windshield replacement w/ Recalibration) . I live 45min away so i decided to call first thing in the morning to make sure my windshield was there. Upon arrival i was greeted professionally & updated throughout the 2.5 hrs i was waiting, offered refreshments (even though they were clearly visible) . Once work was complete the technician & the front office staff went over everything with me & i was on my way. Cant speak so much for the actually quality of repair as its only been a few hours but so far so good! I normally dont do reviews but reading the others really almost made me cancel & go else where, glad i didnt.

Yesterday I was scheduled for a mobile order, but it was raining during my slated time. I was asked to come in if I could. I got there at 945 and left about 1045. Michael did a great job and refunded my fee for the mobile unit. The waiting from was small and all the chairs were distanced. They had bottled water available. They didnt seem bothered by the two kids (1&6) I had to bring with me. The windshield looks amazing. I highly recommend.I love you can schedule everything online and pay upfront instead of showing up, paying afterwards, sitting for hours—like if I had had I gone to a dealership.

The staff was friendly but the service was frustrating. As they were installing a new windshield, they cracked it. It was useable but I had to come back to have the replacement windshield replaced. When the 2nd windshield was installed, they didnt have time that day to calibrate it that day so I had to bring it back a 3rd time. The 3rd time (and hopefully the last time) a worker lost the key to my car (fortunately I have a back up). As I said, the staff was friendly but these issues were all very frustrating. I wouldnt recommend this shop to anyone.

This occurred on a Thursday. I called on the next Wed. Their mistake.4. When I did called I was told that I couldn’t schedule a mobile visit due to my living in D.C. and that D.C. and Maryland centers are grouped apart from VA ones. None of this was told to me by the manager who had my address and phone number when I was in shop and told that it would not be a problem to have a technician visit me. Their mistake.

This location was recently recommended to us by our insurance company as their preferred windshield replacement vendor. The installation went smoothly however we were surprised that they had gone ahead and replaced our windshield with one that cost about $512.38 which is EXACTLY what our deductible is despite lower cost options being available. Our 15Yr vehicle isnt worth more than $3000 and putting an expensive windshield into doesn’t make any sense. After we inquired into what happened – they said they had sent us an email with the estimate (which we never got) and when they didn’t hear back from us…they went ahead and did the work. Which we have no choice but to pay for. Why didn’t they simply call us??? No response. Anyway – if you have to use Safelite because of your insurance company, I recommend you get all prices up front. Then take some time to call around first to see what other vendors provide. Especially if you have a high deductible. You are responsible for the deductible – understood. But don’t let Safelite take advantage of you by installing a product that maximizes your deductible when lower cost options are available.

Have been to this location 3 times and my problem vehicle still not fixed. First was not informed of the requirements to get my rear window fixed (remove camper shell). They send me away to get it removed. When I come back the next day as they asked me to do, they did not have an appointment for me and they sent the replacement window back to the warehouse. Then they send me to another location which was supposed to have the part but I waisted my time and gas going there as they did not have it. Now I’m back for a third time and I’m waiting in the waiting room as the part has not arrived yet. So let see if I have to come back a fourth time

Made an initial appointment on October 10, 2020; install date confirmed 3x by Satellite (2x on the install date) for October 17, 2020. On installation day, I arrived and was greeted by Kiki who looked up and said Got appointment? ... no welcome to Satellite, how can I help you? etc. After giving her my name, without looking up she said time? And then said Have seat, the tech will be with you Twenty minutes go by and then Kiki called me back to the window to let me know the windshield was not at the shop; she said it was on back order and the warehouse was closed for the day. No sure why she couldnt have told me that when I arrived, especially since there were no more deliveries for the day, but nonetheless, she said she would call me sometime next week. I decided to call Satellite Corporate to verify that the windshield was in fact on back order. I clearly understand that COVID has caused challenges in the logistic system but with todays technology, Satellite should be able to determine (and relay) if their products have left the distribution center and is/is not in transit. Safelite Corporate recommended I re-schedule for the following Saturday (just to get on the books) to prevent any installation delays. When I asked Kiki for an appointment, she said she couldnt give me one because the windshield was not in the warehouse. Using this logic, I shouldnt have been able to make my initial appointment. I showed her the text I received from Corporate recommending I re-schedule. After checking with her manage, she reluctantly agreed to put me on the calendar. I then asked if I could speak to the manager about my experience. Kiki said the manager wasnt in but she would send him/her an email. I also asked Corporate to reach out to the manager and ask him/her to call me (which they texted back saying they sent the manager an email and I should hear from him/her next week). Its been two weeks and I have yet to hear back from the Safelight Manager. Needless to say, I cancelled my appointment and went elsewhere (Glass America -- awesome service experience). If the Safelite Manager is still willing, I would be happy to share my experience with him/her so that he can use my experience to improve customer support.

Pretty frustrating experience. This place was tough to get an appointment in for. I tried to get a reliable eta but was told roughly a few hours to 2 days—after metroing across the district was called to pick the car up.No option to match the tint for my new glass.When they took the door apart to replace the glass no one thought to vacuum out the bunch of broken glass that had fallen in the door. After getting tired of the door sounding like a baby rattle every time I open and close it I had to do this myself.The rubber window trim was removed (I guess this was necessary) but was poorly reattached with some adhesive that has started to fall apart only a month out.At least I have new glass I guess. All in all felt like a cheap, bare bones job.

This is my second time coming here actually. Not sure why I didnt post a review before.The employees are always very concerned and empathetic to your issue. They assessed my damage and proceeded to inform me of the work timeframes and continued to update me during the process.I wished they gave me more information in the procedure though. Some people dont care, but I do.Its better than coming to an auto mechanic because they seem to actually care and the environment itself is not as stressful.

Be aware that this branch books repairs hoping to get the required glass in before you show up. In fact, they actually have no idea when the glass will arrive. They don’t tell you this in advance, or even contact you to reschedule when the glass does not show on time. You find out only after you arrive for the appointment, having already juggled rides and time to get your car there. It took another three weeks after the first failed appointment for them to finally get the glass, so almost a month to repair the windshield. Terrible customer service. I would also suggest not buying the wiper blades they push.

GO TO DEALER!! Yes youll pay more but the job will get done and done right AND they wont waste your time and insult your intelligence. From the other reviews it looks like Im not the only one that they pull this trick on. I scheduled my appt 2 weeks ago to drop off. Had to drop off because car had sensors in glass they couldnt do on site. Took off work, had a ride meet me there and the guy at the front desk says let me check your VIN to see if we have the right glass. They obviously didnt but he already knew it.

Steve and Fabian were my team this morning (April 10, 2017) and they did it right. Warned me ahead of time that my 22 year old Camry windshield frame might have worn too much with the actual windshield over time that it might bend the frame, causing no choice but to go to Toyota for it. But in the end, they were able to put the new one on, stickers and all, in about 20-30 minutes (casual guess.. didnt really watch the time).From this experience, I recommend them.

Not only was the technician very professional, he took the extra steps to explain the process, show me the results AND vacuumed my car (front and passenger seat floors for me). I had my windshield replaced in 2013 by their predecessor and recently during a routine oil change, my mechanic showed me that the windshield had separated from the seal on one side. I went back to this location to find it had changed hands. Initially, they said I would have to bring the paperwork from the installation back because they couldnt access the database from the previous owner, but when they came out to look at the windshield, they realized that almost the entire windshield was loose. They told me that they couldnt let me drive it and would fix it right away. My son texted the receipt from the previous repair (I had left it on the kitchen table - I keep everything) and I showed it to the woman who was helping me and she was fine with that. I was on my merry way with a repaired/reinstalled windshield within an hour or so at no charge. Everyone I spoke to, from the woman at the desk (who seemed to be extremely knowledgeable and capable) to the gentleman who came out and looked at the car with her, to the gentleman who performed the repair and brought the key out to me and walked me to the car, was helpful, courteous and generally awesome. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend this location. Should I need to, I will go back there.

Got there early, thought my appointment was at 8am but it was 8:30. They went ahead and pulled me in and got it done. I was concerned I wouldnt make it to work on time but they had me out by 9am. I booked an appointment and requested a genuine Subaru windshield, and agreed to pay my deductible while State Farm covered the rest. I booked an appointment for June 5 and left my car at home with the key hidden. Nothing happened. I called Safelite and they said I had to approve the purchase of the Subaru windshield before the appointment could be scheduled. I pointed out that nobody at Safelite ever asked me about this, called me back, emailed, me, nothing. Im just supposed to know this needs doing and call in? Anyway, I gave permission on the phone right then, booked a new appointment for June 8th, and again left my car. Dionte arrived on time and was nice, did a good job.UPDATE: I have to admit I was wrong in my earlier review when I thought a piece of trim around the outside of the window was left off. I checked out other vehicles like mine and none of them have the trim. I apologize for thinking Dante didnt finish the job! He did good work.Ive updated to 3 stars for the completion of the job, but still leaving two off for the struggles in getting to that point.

The online schedule platform does not accurately designate service times. I was scheduled to drop off my vehicle by 9:30am for a short service appointment. After drop off, I was told the team was allowed until the end of the day 5pm to replace a windshield. They do not offer an Uber service, so 8 hours without a vehicle waiting for this to be completed.

TERRIBLE. Received a call at the end of my 5 HOUR appointment window that the technician was not going to be able to come. So, I ask, lets schedule for first thing tomorrow? No, not possible. Then it is the weekend when I cannot make an appointment. Our windshield NEEDS to be fixed so the company should make the service happen ASAP when an appointment is missed. No questions asked. AND a major discount given for the loss of time and work I had spending the entire afternoon waiting. TERRIBLE SERVICE.

Beware - the warranty doesnt mean as much as youd hope.We had a windshield replacement done one month after buying a brand new 2016 Honda Pilot (that went okay) fast forward three years to present day - we discovered a small leak coming from the upper seal on the windshield which was letting water into the interior of our car and running down the windshield. When I first called in to schedule an appointment I was told we werent in the system yet I had a confirmation email of my appt from three years ago, my bank statement showing a payment to Safelite as well as the receipt. I had to call back two more times in the next few days to finally get connected with Rhonda in Customer Care who was extremely polite and admitted that they just recently hired some new employees who should have started a new work order for me in the first place instead of saying they would do some more digging and get back in contact with me; none of them actually did so. The loss of records on Safelites part was due to another repair shop closing down and the S Quaker location we went to took on a new shop number in their system thus losing all of their records.I brought the car into the Safelite location on 10 S Quaker St. Alexandria, VA. The manager, Sommer Wilburn, along with one of their techs tried to find the source of the leak using an air compressor and water to no avail. They claimed that they couldnt find any ruptures or breaks in the seal but would put some extra sealant along the top edge and send me on my way. After requesting it to be looked at more thoroughly she claimed they dont pull off windshields if there is no leak evident -- so I asked her to try and explain the water running down the inside of our car?? She suggested that it might be the sunroof leaking even though there was no other evidence of water in the headliner or the tray that is connected to the sunroof that would catch water if it was leaking. I took the car home and less than a week later (the next time it rained) what do you know...the leak was still there! So I called Sommer and she said there would be a Quality Assurance Technician at her branch on a specific day and I could bring it back in to reevaluate. This time they took the windshield off and after investigating, they did find a leak and determined that it was due to their faulty installation two years ago. At this point she told us they wouldnt be replacing the windshield, just the retaining clips and seals and reinstalling the same glass. We politely requested a full replacement since the car was already opened up, headliner pulled down for the second time and all clips and seals pulled off and this is how we interpreted the warranty. But Sommer refused and said that they would reinstall the same windshield that theyve now installed badly once and weve driven around with it that way for three years. The integrity of the windshield itself is a concern to us as well as the safety of us and all our passengers. We then requested a cost replacement since all the work had already been done and removal of the glass, replacement of clips and seals and recalibration of our forward facing camera were all covered under warranty. They easily could have just put a new piece of glass at a reduced price which we willingly would have paid but Sommer rudely stated that it would be the whole $659 and she could take off $20 for the retaining clips and seals. We are very disappointed with how this was handled, how we were spoken to, and the truth behind the warranty and how it plays out when issues arise. I am dreading the day that we have to go back into a Safelite and put up with their poor policy implementation and rude customer service. Use a different company and if youre already stuck with a Safelite windshield like us, at least go to a different location.

Worst experience ever. I payed up front to have technician come to my house and replace my windshield. Was given a window of 12pm-5pm. Technician did not show up, I was not contacted in any way. I called to ask what was going on and they apparently close at 5. So now I’m out $450 with no windshield or even an update about reschedule or anything. Most unprofessional experience I’ve ever received at an auto shop.
