I have been a customer at this location for over 15 years. The service has always been wonderful. I recently came in to pick up a wedding ring for my wife that was being re- sized. Of course 5 seconds into the doorway I was demanded that I put on a mask. I politely declined and asked for my belongings so I could leave promptly. All service was refused until I complied with their asinine and unlawful/ unconstitutional demand. Basically refused to return what was already mine until I put a mask on. This will be the last visit to this or any Jared from here forward.As they say, “get woke, go broke”. Congratulations for losing a lifetime customer because of your “policy”.
Knowledgeable sales person. Had my 40 year-old wedding ring enlarged a bit. the result was fabulous. I love it. Looks like a brand new ring. Pricing was very good also. Very happy with their workmanship. I will be taking a couple of other pieces for repair. Thank you for my new 40 year-old wedding ring.
The customer service we experienced with Keith at Jared Algonquin was unlike any other! We came in with some diamonds we wanted to repurpose into a new ring setting and Keith went above and beyond to make sure the new design was even better than what we had envisioned! He was incredibly patient and personable and came up with some great creative options for us while keeping it within our budget. We are so grateful we got the chance to work with him on this fun piece!
I really did not want to shop here due to their annoying ads, but I thought I would check them out since they were close by. After shopping a few other places, I ended up buying my wifes diamond earrings here. Keith and his associates were extremely helpful and patient with me and all of my questions. They even told me about an upcoming sale which saved me quite a bit. Even before the sale, I felt the pricing was very competitive. Thank you Keith and now if you can just do something about Jareds marketing! :-)

The warranty we purchased was not honored. I almost lost my arm and still have my ring. The wouldnt exchange or help in any way. The corporate office said I could give pay another $10 000, to replace it. Other than that we wont work with you.

This used to be a friendly customer orientatedStore, not anymore, Janet was the best Manager there and when she left, so did the great bonds made, I’m sorry to say, I’ll be going to Vernon Hills location, where customer service is important. I went on a Saturday and my son looked at watches and the older gentleman was nice. I was looking for a replacement ring, we had purchased there, they offered to make it for 4500.00, it was on clearance. 1 left in all locations and Janet helped with that, with a phone call. I’m a roofer and I’m dressed like a roofer and not for 1 second did I feel like they were snubbing Me. I recommend anyone to come Here and have Excellent customer service. Maureen has made my experience at Jared in Algonquin one of the most positive and welcoming ever! I feel like a valued customer because of her excellent customer care skills and the time she patiently took to help me with my purchase. This location was fantastic! I was terrified to bring my new, very expensive, engagement ring anywhere! But from the moment I walked in to the “check-in” call back the following week, I felt valued and knew I could trust them with my ring or anything for that matter. This will be the only place I take my jewelry to get cleaned or fixed going forward. So understanding and kind to me. I HIGHLY recommend them for any jewelry necessities!

Went in to compare a few watch Models and was helped by Alex who was pushy from the beginning. Absolutely poor service from him and a horrible demeanor. His last sentence to me before I walked out was Go ask Kay for a discount then! When I was trying to price match.I understand you might have a bad day sales wise - but if you keep talking to customers like you did to me today, youll always have bad days. And just because I ask for a discount, doesnt mean Im poor - its because Im careful when I deal with marked up price products and poor salesmen like you.

We went to multiple stores looking for an engagement ring and when we went here we met Leanne and let me say our service was perfect. She helped us out and answered all our questions she wasnt pushy at all to get a sale and we had some small talk and laughs.I recommend everyone going here and asking for her. Went in today for my 4th six-month inspection for my wedding ring. I had the best experience with James and Janet. I was in and out really quick. They were very friendly. I definitely left there with smile and a shined up ring. I have never had a bad experience at Jared and definitely look forward to returning.
I worked with Matthew today to find the perfect gift for my daughters 16th birthday. It was actually a lot of fun, I dont know how you can have fun at a jewelry store but I did! I knew I was a good hands because Matthews personality was already apparent when I saw his bow tie! Thank you Matthew :-)

Stay far away from this Jared. They are liars and they do not care about there customers, solely just about the money. If you are just going in to get your jewelry inspected you can tell it’s a burden to them and they would rather not help you. If you are late on your inspection you can guarantee they will tell you something is wrong with your stuff and it cost $$$ to repair it. I am not one to take the time to usually review places but the horrible experiences I have had with this location definitely warranted this review to warn people to drive to other locations if they are looking for people who actually care about you and your purchases.
My wife and I have 5 pieces of Jewelry from Jared and have been going to the Algonquin Jared for 17 years to have our pieces serviced and cleaned every 6 months. We purchased the ESP service plan that includes cleaning, checking, replacement of chipped or missing diamonds and resizing. This last visit we requested to have my wifes wedding band resized. We were told it could not be resized due to the integrity of the ring.I was provided two options.Option 1: To trade up to a new wedding band. The ESP allows you to get a credit for what your original purchase was as long as what you are buying is twice as expensive. This would be fine if we wanted to get a ring twice as big, but she loves her already big ring...Option 2: Since her ring is no longer available, to have a custom wedding band re-created..I took her ring to 4 other jewelers and they told me there was no issue in resizing her wedding band. With that information I went to the Schuamburg Jared, spoke to a manager and she had my wifes ring resized, looking brand new within 3 hours... No cost because of the ESP plan covered it.I felt like I was getting completely scammed by the sales person in Algonquin. Plus, there is an Option 3 that the Algonquin store did not tell me. If a ring has loss integrity, were it can not be repaired they have to give me the full price I paid as a credit and I can apply that to any ring. With that Option I do not have to buy something twice as much for the credit. This is totally different from Options 1 and 2 where I was told I would have to buy something.We will now drive to the Schuamburg Jared for new purchases and servicing of our current Jewelry...
Cant be trusted to resize a ring. Ruined my wedding band... Offered to replace it, but its my wedding band! Management was apologetic but the gentleman who was trying to fix my band was pretty rude and said your making a bigger deal out of this than it is... Really? Bottom line is there are better places to buy your jewelry. They got it closer to its original shape and claimed its the best that they could do. Ill be bringing it to a professional for whose best is perfection.
Terrible experience. I took my new engagement ring to get resized. Immediately, the next day a small stone fell out of it. I understand things happen so I took it back to get fixed. Again, I went to pick up the ring which they replaced the stone in and came to a ring that was basically destroyed. They handed me my ring with black all over it, with deep scratches in the baskets and a prong sideways and off the diamond. The sales person told me that they didnt do it and I could have done it by hitting it against something. I dropped off a perfect brand new ring and came to one worse than I left it! They are rude, unapologetic and blamed me for something they did. I made them fix it and after four days I picked it up with the prong still not the way it was. I had to talk to another jeweler who eventually did fix it. I will never come here for any merchandise again, I will hopefully have better luck at a different Jared.
Last minute shoppers beware, they no longer offer gift wrappings. I have been going here for 15 years, always got my last minute purchases wrapped. This year they stopped. The also over charged me $50 for a watch and had a terrible over priced selection of necklaces. I guess this is what I deserve for waiting until Christmas eve.
On a whim while visiting friends we decided to pop in to look for some earrings for one of the girls upcoming wedding. Three of us, all between 24-29. You would have thought we were invisible. It took my friend waiting by the case of jewelry and staring down someone who was just standing by another case for them to say anything to her. I went in their knowing how to help my friend and what’s good pricing, if she needed the guidance, as I currently work for a jewelry store in Indiana, and wow was the quality of service at Jared just awful. I walked around on my own to look at their wedding bands, and while I was staring down the case not a single one of the three sales people standing around asked me if I needed help. I don’t know if it was that we looked young or what, but they clearly had no interest in assisting us. After my friend didn’t seem to find what she was looking for we got out of there super quick. Stick to family owned and customer service oriented stores young people, clearly chains like these don’t want our business.
So he went to Jared and now Im stuck with something I dont want. Recently found out the hard way that Jared has a very short and totally unforgiving return policy. Thirty days--thats it; no ifs, ands or buts. All they will do for you after 30 days is allow you to exchange your item for something else. If they dont have what you want, thats too bad. Theyve got your money and theyre going to keep it regardless of how unhappy you are!! Was told by endless people no, no, no, no and no we wont budge an inch. Given the nature of their business (i.e., jewelry is a luxury item that is frequently given as a gift from one person to another), this policy is not even remotely customer friendly or competitive. Jared will never see another dime of my money.
It’s a chain, what can one expect. Lots of inventory which is a plus but the prices are, as to be expected, high. It’s a nice store and for those who are willing to pay full on retail prices I suppose it will work.
I had recently went into Jared to pick out my wedding band. The associate sized me at a 10 1/2. It was the wedding band of my dreams and i waited a month to pick it up. To my dismay when i went to pick it up it was way too small. Another associate had resized me and i ended up being a size 12. Very dissappointed and ended up cancelling my order. I had bought my fiances engagment ring at Jared and had a great experience so i was excited to come back and buy another piece of jewelry. Very dissappointed and will not be coming back.
Horrible, horrible store, if you are not dressed up like a royal, you will be ignored. Even when you ask for help, you will get reply dont you see I am busy, I am having chat with my associate. First time been here 2 years ago, looking for a wedding ring. Bring my money to other business. Stopped by today, service even worse. Worst jewelry store I have ever been to. I stood in the middle of that store for 15 minutes but noone even acknowledged my presence. I really want em get bankrupt.
My husband and I had a great experience! I had to get my ring cut off, I had originally gone just to get the ring cut off then have it repaired. They advised me to wait 2 weeks for the swelling to go down on my finger before getting it fixed and resized. When we went back in 2 weeks later, we talked to them about upgrading the diamond. After looking at multiple size diamonds (which they were extremely patient for my indecisiveness), I picked out a diamond and they repaired the ring and replaced everything in less than a week. I felt out business was valued, which is always something I am looking into. Thank you Jared team for all your help, I will absolutely recommend all my friends and family members to come see you guys!
Very professional, Knowledgeable, and patient. Ive never had such a plesant experience at a jewlery store. Ill update when I get my ring back from being sized. Well it took a 2nd sizing due to the roundness being taken out of my ring. But the 2nd time it was right. Kinda upsetting when its an hour drive each way.
What a mistake going to Jared.Bought daughters Christmas present. Ring and matching ear rings. They assured us the ring sizing would be no big deal. 1-3-2017 dropped off for adjustment.6 weeks later,nothing, just more excuses.Beware of this Chain of stores.Not worth the trouble.
My husband has been buying my jewelery from this location now for more than 7 years and we couldnt be happier with the staff, service, quality, and selection. The staff has always been very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. We have made special trips at christmas time to make sure we stop in and purchase both of the stuffed animals every year to benefit St Judes Reasearch Hospital. I only wish that they would make a moose one of these years!
Worst service ever! They are nice when they are selling you something, but they LIE! The Algonquin Jareds should be ashamed of themselves. This location has had my ring since April 21st and has been makingmy custom ring for 5 weeks with another 2 weeks left at least. Had I known this, I would have initiated the process months earlier. However, I asked 3 times and all 3 sales people (including Mark - a store manager) told me the entire process shouldnt take more than 4 weeks as long as the initial mold was correct. As a reasonable person, I asked how long the mold typically takes. I was told the mold takes two to three weeks at most. After the initial three weeks came and past, I called for a status update and was told they were struggling to understand the design. WHAT??? For 3 weeks and no call to the customer that provided a drawing of the design. That is such a convenient excuse. Then, when I became frustrated with their incompetence, they were able to complete the mold is just a couple hours. How interesting..... The following day we went to the store to approve the mold and THERE WAS NO HALO!!! And when I mentioned that, the response was Oh. Well thats no problem. Its very basic ok, so basically it took 3 1/2 weeks to approve a tiny blue rubber band. Really? A time delay for that? In any case, we were told that it would only be another two weeks and it would be taken care of. Ok, so ... FAST FORWARD 2 weeks and here we are. I call this evening to get a status update. Why? Well, its approaching that promised completion date so I just wanted to make sure things were on track. What did I learn? Things are not on track. That basic order required a custom order and it wouldnt arrive until the 27th or 28th, at which point it would take another week or so to complete the custom order. SERIOUSLY??? Does the training process involve an in depth component of dishonesty?At this point, I have to accept that I will be ringless for many special events, including my bridal showers, bachelorette party, etc. I can only hope that I actually have my ring for the big day. Please consider my experience before it becomes yours.
On Dec. 14th I get the call that my Movado is in that had to be sent out for a battery replacement. I go to pick it up and immediately notice a gap in the tungsten casing (front near where watch face meets the band). I quickly ask for the condition report they wrote up when I initially dropped off the watch (neither the Rep or the Manager knew what I was talking about until I physically showed them my carbon copy). I show them the gap in my $3000 watch and how it is nowhere to be found on the condition report. When I say gap, I mean, it looks like someone took a chisel to it and broke off a piece. Clearly noticeable! This is a tungsten watch.... What kind of force did that take!? All I got from the Manager was, Youre right sir. Well have to send this out to get fixed. I took my paperwork back and asked that I get a call as soon as it comes back. Im no jeweler but from the location of the gap, the entire watch case (face) will need to be replaced and Im pretty confident this watch is no longer manufactured. Its been approximately a week and I have gotten no update or follow-up.The consistently poor service from a company that alleges to be a premier jeweler has only compounded my stress of trying to protect some of my familys most valuable pieces.UPDATE (12-26-17) Location is offering to replace my $3k watch with a watch at a $2k value. At the moment, will not allow me to pay a difference if I find a more expensive watch and will not give a store credit if I take a watch of lesser value. I am now working with Steve who seems to be very proactive.UPDATE (1-12-18) - Confirmation from Movado on retail value of $3,050. Waited on hold from Jared Corp. twice at 45 min. each. Waiting to hear back from Algonquin location.UPDATE (1-22-18) Between the 12th and the 22nd of January, I spoke with Steve on several occasions. This guy embodies what customer service is supposed to look like! Since my Movado was no longer produced, I was able to find a beautiful Tag Heuer watch that had an equal value to the Movado that was unfortunately damaged. After providing Steve with the information I was able to obtain from Movado, he contacted both Movado and Jared corporate on my behalf to see what can be done. He even had a case-manager assigned to my account on the corporate side to help along the way. After several followups, Steve was able to convince Jared Corporate to swap my damaged Movado for the Tag watch that had an equal value. Not only that, but due to all the frustration that my unfortunate chain of events caused, Jared also provided me with an in-store credit to be used on a future purchase! After working with Steve, he was able to have Tag deliver a brand new/unopened/untouched watch to the store for me.Full transparency, I honestly did not expect this level of attention at first. My initial interactions with the location manager were not good and I was even more upset that she transferred my issue to Steve to handle. She is the store manager, correct? All I can say is, I am glad she did! I was so frustrated with Jared (more so the consistent chain of events at this location that occurred with my wifes wedding ring and a faulty pair of earings) that I had no intention of ever doing business there again. Steve alone has changed that. I have no reservations sending referrals his way and I look forward to my future interactions with him. It is also worth mentioning that he kept me in the loop every step of the way and informed me what was going on, what he heard, what he was trying to do. Again, no reservations! This guy alone is the reason I’ll be back to this location and will continue to keep my business.

Love the store, love the people that work there but it takes an eternity to check in jewelry to get Rodium plated. To check in 5 items takes 1 full hour to: look up in computer, check the jewelry (visual inspection) and make 5 hand written claim cheks....UNACCEPTABLE! I even bring in the recripes from last time to make it easy on them! I dont mind that it takes the actual jewler the time to Rodium the items but to actually check it in is ridiculous. There needs to be a better system then having multiple hand written receipts. I tell all my friends to go to Jarred and to get the lifetime Rodium deal but this process maddening. Management needs to change this a.s.a.p.
