1st time eating at the Sunrise Diner and it was a pleasure! This is an old school joint and it has all AMERICAN theme as most AMERICAN DINERS DO. However, this diner had a 99.9 % Hispanic servants, which is a plus. They took our orders and served our meals in about 15 minutes. The wait was worth it. The food was 100% spot on! Low sodium and juicy flavors to melt. I wiped my entire plate with my appetite! It was so! Good! That I even ordered pancakes afterwards. Trust me folks, this is an American diner you should not skip on. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS JOINT for anyone who wants an excellent meal at a classy place. My California eggs benedict were cold. No toast came with breakfast like the other diner we go too. My son and husbands breakfast were fine. Waiter never came over to ask if we needed anything..first and last time coming here

After 35 years of being a patron at the Sunrise Diner, I have switched to the Lighthouse Diner.Take out orders, the team will make the customer wait because they have a large order. As you are waiting, they want you to pay for order, while waiting for another 30 minutesRecently returned to the Sunrise Diner, the owners son, once again wanted payment before the food was ready.Will never again patronize the Sunrise Diner my business will go to the Lighthouse DinerBy the way they make the best BACON EGG AND CHEESE SANDWICH I ever had!!

My omelet was overcooked. The veggies should have been cooked prior to adding to the eggs. Very dry and bland.The waiter returned only once to our table. When the waiter finally did return, he asked if I needed any more hot water. I said yes.I noticed that the waiter asked another party, after asking me, if they needed anything. Ironically, the other party received their request first and immediately, and I waited 5-7 minutes for our waiter to return with my hot water!It was crowed in the diner. I didnt see many Uber Eats/ Doordash orders either.So why the long wait?Why didnt the waiter tend to my party of 2?Hummmmm.

The best little diner! I had the quinoa arugula salad with shrimp and it was honestly the best that Ive had! Better than any healthy eatery! The ingredients were so fresh and the shrimp was perfect!! Great coffee too!
Another awesome diner that never disappoints! Sadly, good diners are hard to find these days, Ive seen many close their doors due to the pandemic. I do not like IHOP or chain-type restaurants. Thats just me though!COVID compliant. Great food, excellent service - friendly hostess is always smiling and happy to seat you! Give them a shot. Nice diner but was just overcharged for my meal. Additional $3.00 added on for no reason. Should have been $7.95 but was charged $10.95. Good Service though and nice server. Generous with coffee.

Above average Long Island diner
The owner doesnt care.that is all you need to know. But if you want our experience. I have had problems several times.in a time where all we hear is support restaurants you would think some one would care about taking care of the customer. We get wrong items wrong food. and the only reason I support this place is because my mother loves it.besides that Im done I can spend $70.00 for breakfast and get a bad time,meal,and attitude from some one else.

I love this place. The waitstaff is consistent and nice. The food is consistently good. Price is what it is - no more expensive than anywhere else in the area. There are healthy options to with the make your own plate if youre looking for simple American dining with a protein, carb and vegetable.

Lovely outdoor patio, and indoor booths. But not cheap for a run ofmill veg omelet and side bacon. Omelet was dry, thin, tasteless and very small amount of cheese,mushrooms,onions and lots of spinach which looked nice but short on flavor or texture.ine was very dark brown and greasy. Never spend 20 bucks again on such cheap food.

We like a lot eating out. Yesterday we found this delicious place which friends told us about. We had a delightful time there with first-rate food and a nice stuff and an impressive cook. We put this restaurant in our list and we will no doubt go again very soon. We highly recommend.

The High Quality; performance, of: the wait staff; reception/hostess/host/manager on duty staff; bus-boy & crew staff; all, routinely >>Excellent; can, however, vary somewhat, depending, on, day of the week; hour of the day; workers shifts; &, when u, are there; &, ur experiences there, will also, sometimes, vary, depending on what other cstmrs are there, at the time u are; but, it is: pretty darn standard; that u can usually expect, a dining/eatery experience; that is: uniformly very fine; &, far more high quality; than nearly every other such establishment; which, I routinely do; or: ever have: visited previously. Also, rather interesting, is: this Perfectly Fine; yet, Curious fact, in all my numerous Happy visits there; so far, I have encountered, no (female) waitresses; only: (male) waiters. Intriguing; but, perhaps, therere reasons, which account for this; that, the owner feels, over, the length of time, of his; &, his sons experience, bears out. Also: My cstmr. srvc experiences, are very high; albeit, I only visit, in low cstmr traffic time periods. Were I to visit, in higher volume time periods; I dont know. And, I am SO grateful they never up the tvs volumes! A.
This place is the one I like best. I go to many restaurants but here I go the most. The crew is very helpful and the cooking they serve is so yummy. I am always happy to have a nice dinner in this restaurant. I highly recommend this place.
One of my Favorite places to eat.. NEVER been disappointed whenever we go. Food is always GREAT no matter what I have ordered. My Favorite is the Mac/cheese Burger!! Another thing I like is you always see the same faces workin there!

Food was fresh & delicious! My son has a Belgium waffle that he devoured happily. I had the avocado omelette that was really delicious. My daughter had the macn cheese grilled cheese which she said was yummy. The service was excellent. We didnt wait long for our food and our waited checked back on us during our meal. I definitely would fine there again

Everyone at the Sunrise Diner always treats you like family. The owners have done a great job ensuring a pleasant atmosphere with great food, and the staff always accommodates any special requests when it comes to preparing your food. You can see that special attention has been paid towards details for cleanliness; the way you can see into the kitchen; the way you can see the waiters prep station; the way the silverware is put on your table; the way the glasses are served to you; the consistent cleaning of the windows and floors, etc. Its hard to match the overall quality, value, and hospitality that the Sunrise Diner offers.
Food was good...outdoor dining was a nice atmosphere.
I hate to do this but I am just writing this to make the diner aware, I have been taking out from here for 5 years, probably more. Everything was always good & in the bags. The past 3 visits, not so good. 1 was missing an order of fries, the next an order of onion rings, the next the Tzateziki for my Gyro. So this time I opened the bag on the counter just to make sure it was all there, it was but, one of the waiters asked me if there was a problem so I explained. Here is where it bothered me, after I explained, it seemed like nobody cared, 2 waiters listened to me, one said “It wasn’t me wast it ?” & the other said nothing. How do I know who packed the bag? The food is always good, this just irritated me, no apology, no nothing, like it wasn’t a big deal to them. Once I can see, even twice but 3 times & no response. UGH!

Really pleasant customer service! They have vegetarian meals but as a vegan you can ask for no cheese on certain things and its still super good!! A little pricey but definitely worth it 😊

My friend Cathies review:My friend and I just enjoyed an outstanding meal. The Lobster Tail was by far the best that, I have ever had. It was incredibly tender and tasty. The Filet Mignon was cooked for me perfectly the way that I would hope, my steak to be. Nicely browned on the outside, with the whole inside PINK and tender. With no waste to this steak. The baked potato was soft. The asparagus was not stringy or hard, each piece was good. And served before the meal comes a beautifully made fresh salad. My servers name was Bobby. He was polite, personable, pleasant and efficient! I eat out a lot in restaurants and also diners. This diner is: the BEST diner experience that I, have ever had. Cottage-like, with a very comfortable feel. Very well organized and well-run with attention to detail. I highly recommend the Sunrise Diner.

Food has always been excellent. Service has always been amazing and consistent. Consistency is important, this place seems to be on their game all the time, even when they are super busy. I mostly get my orders delivered, and they always get to me on time or quicker. Nothing to complain about. Read on for some specific feelings about this amazing diner.They always give you plenty of napkins, sauces, and utensils as well. Thats a big peeve of mine when an eatery doesnt supply you with those amenities of their own accord. So many y places have given me a bag with NOTHING to work my hands with and NOTHING to eat with...this place DOESNT do that to me, and I think that says something about their dedication to servicing their customers. One of the best diners Ive ever eaten from (and I have been inside to pick up orders, very nice inside as well).
Worst diner on Long Island. It used to be you couldn’t go wrong with eating at a diner. With their extensive menus, fast and friendly service and great food you were almost guaranteed to leave “fat and happy.” This was not the case here, in fact it was the opposite. From it’s dated decor, the lack of effort in the kitchen and the ridiculous prices. I had an omelette, wife had a tuna melt, daughter had a quesadilla and my son had a grilled cheese. Two waters, a coke, coffee and a bowl of soup.....$75!!!!! I could’ve gone to any family-owned restaurant and left more than satisfied and with some money still in my pocket. How do you screw up an omelette? Simple, overcook it and add way too much cheese. A tuna melt that wasn’t “melted” and a chicken quesadilla that appeared to be purified in a blender. The ratings for this place were actually good so I’m assuming we ordered the wrong items or they were having a bad day. I suggest dining at your own risk here.
Sunrise diner is great! After a late night of bouncing around it is always nice to sit down to a hearty meal with our mates! You guys have great staff and well cooked dishes!

We havent been here in a long time, and wanted a good meal after coming home from a day in NYC. Our waiter, Rudy was friendly and funny. The service and food was very good. My burger was cooked perfectly, and my wifes chicken souvlaki was terrific. Cant wait to go back!
Consistently great food, friendly staff and service. Always my go to dinner. Ive been going for 10 years, at one point as much as 5 times in a month! Their chick-pea side salad is one of my favorites. Dine in or take out, you cant go wrong with the Sunrise Diner.

The food was average. The service was excellent. Id go back simply because the waiter we had was very lovely. Id ordered fries and a burger. The fries could have been crispier but the burger was okay. Nice place to sit down and relax and eat your food. Average diner prices as well. Not too expensive.
