Look no further, youve found your favorite new pan! Stargazer cast iron is not only beautiful (it has a kind of golden metallic surface) and functional (the additional handle opposite the main handle helps to steady it while transferring and cleaning it), it cooks delicious food without sticking and cleans up before you can say Time for dinner!I recommend using the blend of oil they suggest to flavor it.
Stargazer Cast Iron is an incredible place to learn about cast irons. We had an opportunity to tour their facility in Allentown and meet with their team. I am very impressed with the quality of the cast iron and how much pride they take in the finished product. I’m going to order mine today! You won’t be disappointed. Made is USA.
PRICE:The price for the pan itself is very well. Shipping was a little on the high side (to Canada), but that is out of their control, so I can’t hold that against them.FINISH:The finish of the cooking surface is phenomenal. It’s flat, smooth, and the hand finished polishing is extremely well done. It doesn’t feel like “glass” like the old antique cast does, it almost feels like it was blasted with a very, very fine blasting media. It almost feels “frosted”, but not quite. Whether or not this is how they do it, I don’t know.Don’t let this seem like a bad thing - it’s a great finish and promotes even seasoning. I added several additional layers once I got it, and it had gradually and evenly darkened into almost a chestnut colour. There are no splotches or unevenness. It took the season perfectly, and consistently, and now, it feels like glass.HANDLE:The handle is larger than what I’m normally holding onto, it it’s well shaped. It gives you a very nice and sturdy grip. If you have smaller hands, it might feel awkward. But that is what the helper handle is for.OVERALL:I couldn’t have asked for a better cooking vessel. I just wish i would have gotten then 12!
Stargazer is hands down the best cast iron out there. Have had ours for a few months and its been fantastic. It cleans so well w/ the smooth interior, the handle is the best on a cast iron skillet. It does stay cool so much longer. I also bought a Finex at the same time and I regret that every time I use it. It was twice the price and doesnt even compare. It just sits in the cupboard now. Seasoning seems to be a little slow to build due to the smoothness, but it is coming along. This is the only pan I use now, so glad I got both sizes. Looking forward to seeing future offerings from Stargazer.
Ordered a 10” pan back in late August after doing a lot of research on the best of the best cast iron pans. Stargazer was a contender on almost all of the reviews. When I found out that they are making these only a few miles from my house I knew I had to support a local company.Due to COVID the order took about 2 months to fulfill. No worries there and it was absolutely worth the wait. The day it arrived I grabbed some steaks and threw them on the pan. I’ve never gotten such an amazing crust! The ergonomics on this pan are perfect for me. The long handle and v-shaped connection to the pan help with heat soak into the handle. I still need to use a pot holder for high heat cooks but finer things like eggs that cook on a lower heat haven’t been too hot to handle.100% satisfied customer and looking forward to many more years cooking on this amazing cast iron pan.
As more men migrate to the kitchen the demand for good cast iron skillets will become more popular.I am 73 years young. I grew up eating from cast iron skillet. I bought one from China. It was junk. I bought Lodge, a good skillet but required much effort to get it seasoned.STARGAZER is ready to go right out of the box. The longer, cooler handle, extra large helper handle, great drip control edge and lighter weight are great extras. The price is a great deal. Men, get yourself one before demand drives the price way up.
I bought the smaller skillet because I really wanted to try a good, quality cast iron skillet. This one is lighter weight than typical cast iron but still good, heavy duty quality. And the cook surface is so smooth. I still try to clean it right and continue to built the seasoning but the seasoned skillet (I ordered mine seasoned) is ready to use out of the box and is pretty non stick. One day Ill order the bigger skille . Looking forward to seeing what else they will offer.
The Best of the Best!Purchased the 10.5 Skillet first and then subsequently purchased the 12-inch skillet. Hands down... these are the best designed cast iron skillets on the market today. Absolute pleasure to cook with.If youre in the market for a cast iron skillet, I highly recommend Stargazer.
My wife and I absolutely love our Stargazer cast iron pan. We have been using Lodge cast iron for a while and never knew how much better it was to step up and get a smooth cast iron pan from the start. We went with the 10.5 seasoned and for the extra few dollars it was worth it. I seasoned the new pan 4 times before cooking anything in it, then cooked some scrambled eggs in it. I did as recommended to use a little extra oil the first few times cooking and nothing stuck to the pan. I highly recommend using the Crisbee puck to season it. We are ordering the 12 Stargazer right now.
Walked in off the street because of a friends recommendation. Met at the front door by Peter, the shop owner, who stopped what he was doing to not only show me their products and explained them.Im willing to wait for a backordered product from a local company with such amazing products and ratings.Ordering now!!!!Buddha
Purchased the 10.5 inch pre-seasoned cast iron from them for the Valentines Day sale. And I use it virtually every day! Lightweight great design Cooks amazing. Minor personal issue with how the handle feels while caring the pan but its minor. We just need some amazing lids for your amazing pans!
My first cast iron skillet. Really like the smooth cooking surface. Requires seasoning in oven and still a week of cooking before it was totally none stick cooking. Skillet could really use a lid option. Really like the handle and overall quality of craftsmanship of the skillet. Will definitely buy another.
Bought one and enjoyed it so much, we bought a second. We are a couple and didnt need larger pans, so two 10 pans is exactly what we need. The finish is exquisite. We have one more cast iron pan that dates back to the 40s (same size); its handle is too small and it has no aux handle so it is difficult to handle. The Stargazer removes all those obstacles and performs beautifully. Cleanup is the easiest Ive ever had in any pan. Just use a SS chain mail square and then some paper towels! Nothing sticks hard. The key is to allow the pan to heat up before using it.
I cannot tell you how much I love my Stargazer skillet! I look for excuses to use it. I really like that it weighs less than the older cast iron pans, and the fact that the handle stays cool is great. The skillet was perfectly seasoned when it arrived and is even better after using it for about a month. The best!
Got the Stargazer pre-seasoned Cast Iron frying pan awhile ago. Its amazing! After years of using non-stick pans that didnt last, I decided to try cast iron. It is the most non-stick pan I have ever used. The only problem I have with it is that I didnt get it sooner.
Fast and transparent ordering process. Stargazer kept me up to date on status throughout. Plus they have NOT filled my email box with spam for their other products since my order. That is genuinely a breath of fresh air.The pre-seasoned pans are...AMAZING! Out-of-the-box they were as easy to work with as space aged, non-stick pans. I have used them exclusively over the past six-is weeks I have had them. Its like the pans know what I am cooking and adjust to it.Clean up is a breeze following the included instructions. The handle design really does reduce the top end temperature of the handle. All told, I do not think I could be happier with the whole experience.
Bought the 10 inch pan and have been super satisfied with the quality! it took only a week or two for the pan to become nonstick. Stargazers website is simple and straightforward to deal with. Considering the quality of the pan, I found it priced very reasonable.
I have used the Lodge cast iron for years; however, after watching a YouTube video reviewing cast iron skillets by Cowboy Kent Rollins I elected to purchase the Stargazer. I must admit - Stargazers support of the military also was a nice push in the purchase direction. As a Vietnam vet it is nice to get that recognition - Thank you Stargazer...and love the skillet.
Sounds kind of silly to get enthusiastic about a cast iron pan ( there are so many). That said, this is fantastic. Seasons quickly and lighter than the standard ( Lodge). As a chef I have far too much of everything but this is my new standard and go to pan!
Best skillet I ever owned. My only regret Is not buying it sooner. Easy to use for a beginner. The detail that goes into the skillet is flipping awesome.
Got the 10.5 inch skillet. Love it. Non-stick from 1st use. Would recommend this pan or the 12 inch also. The handle doesn’t get hot for a long time. So glad I order from Stargazer. Thanks
An excellent skillet! Reignited my love for cooking. I do wish they offered a matching lid
Excellent modern day cast iron skillet. Smooth cooking surface. Well balanced. A very well made product.
I do love this skillet the only thing is for women with smaller hands the handle is a bit wide. Other than that can not complain. Yes I would recommend this product.
I have had a Stargazer cast iron pan for around a year now and have loved every second of it. The smoother finish really helps with non stick cooking and the craftsmanship of the pan is spot on. I’ll be buying other products from them in the future.
Both of my Stargazer skillets are amazing. The smooth cooking surface really makes a difference when seasoning your skillet for use. Plus when it comes time for clean up it sure makes it nice and easy.
The pans are amazing quality and cook so well worth every penny
First cook 12 preseasoned skillet. Went ahead and preseasoned skillet 2 more times then cooked 7 slabs of bacon low heat no splatter,no stick bacon cooked perfect. In bacon grease cooked thin slice potatoes cooked perfect. Then drained and cleaned off bacon grease added butter to pan cooked 3 scrambled eggs cooked perfect no stick. This truly is a non stick cast iron skillet. Best pan in the house now, you definitely wont be disappointed. I will be purchasing the 10.5 inch skillet also.
I have owned field, lodge, finex, and handled smithey. I have sold all of them. I believe you have created the next generation of functional cast iron. I love my vintage pieces but stargazer is such an impressive step forward. Easy to handle with both large handles and the smoothest surface, great weight and depth. I own a 10 sent a 12 as a wedding gift and am waiting on another 12 for myself. And at your prices, I tell everyone there really isn’t a close second, Stargazer. Customer service is fantastic as well.
This is by far the best cast iron pan I have ever had! I cook everything I can in it. Worth every penny.
I purchased the 10.5 - bare skillet for my husband as a Christmas present in 2017. We’ve used the skillet at least a twice a week since then and we absolutely love it! We definitely recommend Stargazer products to anyone looking for quality cast iron.
This is hands down the best cast iron pan Ive ever owned. Easy clean up and does a great job cooking everything Ive thrown at it.
I was impressed with the buying experience with Stargazer. The Stargazer skillet is definitely a very high end piece of cast iron.
I own the Stargazer 10.5-inch skillet as well as the new 12-inch skillet. Ive never visited this location in person but I have only good things to say about the quality of the skillets and the quality of the customer service. Great products, great company, highly recommend!
My favorite modern, top-level cast iron. And those running the company are smart, thoughtful people. Im already eager to see whats next.
These skillets are legit. High quality product with great customer service!!
Love both my 10 and 12 inch pans.
I never knew you could fall in love with a pan, but it’s true, you can. I love this thing.
By far the best cast iron skillet on the market
Followed the instructions for prep and cleaning. Washed once and watched it rust all over. I tossed it in the trash after one use.
I called them a few days ago about a pancake grill they said they were going to be making one I seen him on the science Channel and theyve been making cast iron pots for years.
Well packed, stellar customer service!
