Variety! We come here at least once a month and anytime we need a special occasion steak or want to treat a friend. The meat is local and fresh, the facility is clean, the gents behind the counter (Justin and Kale, sorry on the spelling guys!), are always super helpful. If you want perfect breakfast bacon, just about any cut of your standard farm animal, a steak that will melt in your mouth or some supreme supplies for your homemade dog food...This is the place. If they dont stock a meat, they are happy to suggest a place you can find it.

Best meats from local farms, fair prices. You have to try the Bacon Bomb! The heritage pork is amazing, no pale white pork like you find at the supermarket.

My husband and I came in today to buy some meat. We waited outside obviously because of social distancing. So my husband went in to buy some meat today. This is our first time buying meat at this place and buying meat in a butchery. The guy at the counter was rude. My husband was looking for insights on what type of cut for lamb would be good. We thought hey... they must be knowledgeable so why not ask? Obviously we were wrong the guy at the counter made face and said oh my God implying that really you dont know? So my husband rushed and got some meat. We bought 4lbs of lamb and nothing was explained. I think being nice goes a long way. Will for sure take my business some where else were people are polite and are willing to serve their customers with respect.

Went in to stock a new freezer. Excellent selection of meat and poultry. I asked for one of the meat packs which were cheaper and came vacuum packed. They normally like a head ups for the bulk order and was honest and told me it would take 30 minutes. They were accommodating and was glad they could help me out on short notice. If you want a bulk pack CALL ahead or shop from the case.

Went to get bones for broth. Decent price for knuckles and marrow bones. Big selection of meat. Will be a repeat customer.

Meet is really good. Low selection of cuts. Its small. VERY friendly and nice would go and will go for steak but thats about it. Their prosciutto was OK (I was raised in Italy) but not anything like supposed to be, their sausages were OK nothing special or flavored. Know where to go for better But steaks very good. Will only and keep going for steaks.

My wife and I experienced EXTREMELY POOR customer service today. We came in last month (July) for the first time and had excellent service, no issues in packaging our order the way we needed it, served with a smile and great attitude; spent over $200. My wife and I thought we had found the place to buy all of our meat. Now fast forward to today; older gentlemen (about 6’3”, short gray hair, and glasses) greeted us with a frown and grumpy attitude right when we entered the building. My wife asked him how his day was and his response was that he was busy. That was odd, as we were the only patrons in the establishment. We told him that we were there to buy our meat for the month, and he did not respond with words, only a glaring stare. I started to read from my list, and he told me just to give it to him and that we could get our meat out of the prepackaged refrigerated next to the counter. I said we needed it in specific sized packages for our meals. His response was sighing and grumbling, said he was too busy, and that it would take too much of his time to get our order together. Wow, I have never had a butcher say they could not size my meat packages to order, or that they were too busy to take my money. This guy made my wife and I feel very uncomfortable and not wanted as customers. I took my list back from him, and said we would find our meat elsewhere. This butcher shop just lost over $2400 a year from us as we will NEVER BE BACK, and we urge others to use caution before shopping here. I don’t know about you, but I am no longer willing to spend my hard earned money on places that can’t even offer their customers service with dignity.

Great service, great price, and worth the drive from Dundee to Aloha. They did a fantastic job of butchering the turkey necks for our 2 Aussies!!!!

Oh. My. Goodness.I stopped in based on reviews and a peek at their website. I was looking for raw food for my pups and something exciting and yummy for dinner. I was not disappointed. I got 3 pounds of raw food for my dogs (super reasonably priced) and what they call The Bacon Bomb for dinner. Do yourself a favor...run, dont walk, and get one. Melt in your mouth delish. Super helpful staff. Great prices. Bacon! ❤

Ive been wanting to visit Ponderosa for a long time and finally I went today. My experience was awesome because Rich, the guy at the counter definitely knows his business. Hes very friendly and makes you feel like youre a regular customer. He educated me about some cuts and I bought more than what I wanted because everything there is fresh and well packed. Another thing that really pleased me about the place is the cleanliness. Everything is spotless and there are no flies LOL. Im really pleased with what I bought, so I will definitely be back for more. Thanks.

Quality of beef was less than poor a prime cut smelled and tasted like liver, another cut of choice steak was the same, all bloody and smelly when opened the packet within 4 days of purchase. Will not be buying there again, Have purchased before with no problems including the bacon bomb. Quality is dropping.Talked to the manger and he will follow up next week. Did not care about quality in his attitude, Will use Costco from now on. Like to support local but as a gourmete in restaurant and home cooking this is very unacceptable quality.

I really love coming here. I started coming here in 2005. I bought a really nice prime rib. It was one of the best cuts of meat Ive ever had. Now I buy a prime rib every year for Christmas from here. I come in from time to time and purchase other cuts of meat. The meat is always to notch. Never had a problem or a complaint. The workers are all very friendly and knowledgeable.

Best of the best in terms of meat, and they specialize in true prime beef. Everything ground fresh in house, and their sausages are amazing - chicken bacon ranch sausages are best chicken sausage i have ever had! Custom cut anything for you, with great cooking recommendations. Only place i get my meat!

Never have we had such a meaty (and juicy!) turkey breast for the holiday, it was absolutely perfect. This was my first time visiting this butcher shop and the owner couldnt have been more kind and helpful with my request. I was asking for a 5# Turkey Breast Bone-In, calling just days before Thanksgiving thinking that maybe it was too late to place an order, but nope, he said it was no problem at all and that hed have it ready for me when I needed it.When I arrived, as I stood in line I could see that he was tending to another customer, kindly sharing his tips with her as to how she could roast her beef-roast that shed just purchased (his recommendations were deliciously spot-on by the way) and as soon as she had gone, as the other two customers being helped--by a really kind woman who also works there--he came to me and asked if he could help me. I told him who I was, the order that I had placed, and he immediately remembered who I was and went off to get my order.I had no idea what to expect, so when he handed the turkey breast to me moments later I couldnt believe the care that he had taken with it. It was vacuumed sealed, perfect for keeping airtight in the fridge until I needed it or even had I wanted to freeze it I could have. It was heavy and plump, fresh as Id hoped it would be, and the perfect weight that I had asked for. The price was very reasonable for such a glorious cut of meat--he had cut it STRAIGHT down the middle, ribbing attached--I had no problem paying the price of $3.99 per pound.Look, I know I am giving this a feminine touch as far as reviews go, but I am the chef at my house so deal with it! LOL! Kidding ... anyway, it is more than worth it to go here, Ponderosa meats is hands down the BEST meat house in the entire state of Oregon!!

Butcher shop with roots in ramshackle mid-century Aloha. Prices for farm-raised meat very reasonable. You can order all kinds of meat including whole duck or rabbit. Lots of smoking, grilling supplies too.

Suuuuch a great place for meat. Picked up one of their tri-tips (with the fat cap, thats the best part!) and smoked it. Was the best meat Ive made. Their hamburger patties are killer too. Definitely coming back soon.

These folks are the greatest. They have excellent meat and the prices are pretty much the same as in the stores but the quality is fantastic. I have been going there for years, and I would not want to change. I have to drive a ways but it is well worth the trip.

Local butcher that sells local meats. The store front is small but you don’t need a lot in the window if you know what you need. Got a flank steak to make carne asada. The quality was amazing for the same price if not better than a chain. Will be coming back again. I might want to sous vide a porterhouse or pork chops soon. Meat is vacuum sealed. So it can stay fresher longer or drop straight into a water bath.

This place is a little difficult to get to, but well worth the effort. We really enjoy their steaks which seem to cook more tender than from the grocery store. Their bacon is truly special.

Helpful and patient staff behind the counter immediately put me as ease as I usually get my meats from the grocery store. Meats are fresh and the pre-seasoned stuff are divine. I was able to taste some kalbi from the store and it was amazing! The prices are also very reasonable for the high quality meats you get. Definitely worth a visit for all discerning carnivores!

This is the butcher shop you have been looking for.It completely blows away the supermarket, and a few key points make it my favorite meat shop around.First, absolutely everything that comes out of the shop is vacuum packed. So if I open it that night, or toss it in the freezer, I know its going to be good.The prices are very reasonable. In fact, many items are downright frugal. The boneless skinless chicken breasts come two to a pack, and are a steal.And there are a couple specialty items you have to try. The Hoss Burger is made from prime trimmings and makes an amazing hamburger. And the bacon bomb. Yes, I thought it was just going to be a novelty, and probably overwhelming, so I roasted a couple for some hungry college students who would eat anything. I was really surprised at just how savory that thing was. Not something Id do every week, or even month, but certainly something Id have at a special occasion.Combine all this with locally sourced meat, and some genuinely helpful, and friendly people and youve got a real treasure out here on the westside.

Best meat place for raw cat or dog food! I drive over 40 minutes to buy my cat food from here. They have healthy raw chicken with added vitamins and minerals my cat needs to stay healthy. I have never tried any meet for humans but most of the time I go there are people in line, so that says something!

This Butcher shop is on point! So many quality cuts in stock, good sauces on hand with wood on the ready for those versed in the art of BBQ.

We stopped in and the person behind the counter wasn’t friendly in the slightest, quite the opposite. The meat looked ok, but nothing spectacular, certainly not good enough to treat customers like they are a nuisance. We won’t be back.

The staff is always very friendly, and they definitely know exactly what theyre doing. We go there often, and have yet to have a bad experience. Thier meat is always exceptional, and cut perfectly. The bacon bomb is a must try, as well as their sauces.
