Love this store. Ive ventured out to other ace stores in the area and this one is my favorite. They tend to have a good inventory of products I need to buy, not just look at.Staff has always been helpful and knowledgeable. Pet friendly as well.I lucky enough to have to drive past this place to go to home depot so this location is very convenient for me but even if it was out of the way - Id still go here first. I can be in and out quickly.I do wish they offered an in house cutting for metals or other materials. A lot of us can cut lumber at home but metals is hard if you dont have the tools at home. Id pay a small price to have ability to cut metal here

They have an excellent generic sized assortment of various fasteners, bolt, nuts, hinges, etc. This has saved me SO many times around the house and cars.Typically have a better selection than the small hardware places but the same although smaller stock than the big places. I prefer to go here its easy n quick to get in out esp for small stuff.Hours are a little hard for people who work 9-5 but theyre open full day Saturday. They seem to have knowledgeable people on staff so ask unlike some other places you might not want to.

Use to be an enjoyable experience every visit. Helpful and friendly service. That has changed now. Most of the floor people are still helpful but some act like you are a pain if you ask a question and they rudely shrug you off obviously not knowing the answer. The cashiers are just plain rude now ignoring you as they talk among themselves and make me feel like I should apologize for buying something and interrupting them. Nor sure what caused the change other than a lot of new faces, but I do think it is time to shop somewhere else from now on

I usually go to home depot, but I had a plumbing problem and needed some help that you will never find at home depot. Mike helped me troubleshoot my problem, showed me a couple of different ways fix it, and made sure that I understood what to do. He must have spent at least 15 minutes just walking it through with me. Then at the end he told me a great dad joke 😎. The best customer service ever for a hardware store!

Had the dimmer switches I needed. Fair price. Love supporting locally owned businesses. Shop here as often as I can. Great helpful staff.

A knowledgeable employee, a younger guy, helped us understand how different ingredients in gardening products worked and offered additional products that would help us get the job done. Some were very inexpensive and with unexpected applications. Thanks! Its a bit of a drive to get here but I will be back for the good knowledge base of the employee.

Great people! I went there to buy a mailbox lock and dropped $100 in the process. I was distraught looking everywhere and when I went to pay and mentioned it to the cashier, she said its right here. An older gentleman working there found it and put it up front for the person who lost it. Wow! I never expected to get it back. What integrity and honesty. Really gave me hope. Thank you!!

The BEST hardware store around. They have a HUGE selection of fasteners. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. If you need to fix something, they probably have the parts you need.

A real hardware store, this place is a gem. This Ace is the stereotypical rabbit warren of an old time hardware store, but it has a crew old red-vested sales people ready to help you find a nut for that strange screw that keeps you favorite chair together or that special part for the 40-year old weed whacker Dad loaned you.My last trip included a hunt for a matching metric bolt and nut (and fender washers and lock washer) that were missing from a new industrial tool we needed at work. The owners college-age daughter led me through the aisles and had me successfully on my way in under 5 minutes.This is the kind of place and service that keeps you coming back over the years.

I had my furnace blower capacitor go out on me and this Ace Hardware was the only store that stocks it. Finding them 10 minutes before they closed, a salesman Dan let me buy it over the phone and set it out for me to pick up after hours. He also followed up and gave me his phone number in the event I had trouble finding where he put it or if the police thought I was up to no good. I couldnt have asked for a friendlier or more helpful person. Thanks to him my family had AC before I left town. Thank you Ace, and thank you again Dan.

You will pay more at this store! 15% more! Go to another ACE Hardware and you will pay less. Every Ace Hardware sells the Badger 5 for $129. Not this store, they will jack you for $149. I will not shop at this location again.

My fav hardware store. the ladies are always nice and there are always people there to help you. I feel like the small extra price in pay goes a looking way over hone depot where I can never find anyone and half the time I dont get the correct answers. Ace is the place for me!

I had been to another ACE earlier that day and found only one item on my list. This ACE had everything on my list and at a cheaper price than the other ACE. Seem to have a better selection and stock.

I frequent this location because it’s close to me. The parking lot is a bit difficult to get in and out of. The employees are helpful and courteous. The inventory is sometimes lacking but usually you can find what you need. Prices aren’t steep but they aren’t the cheapest you can find.

Nice big store! Just like the old Ace I remember. A real hardware store with everything you need, automotive section could have more things and be larger than one isle, store sits in a very tiny parking lot that is shared with a Mexican restaurant, so parking and maneuvering is very tricky.

They had the obscure part that I needed, and even helped me find it.

Convenient location with almost all hardware needs covered. Some of the prices are not competitive to the big box stores, but youre paying for neighborhood proximity.

Ace Stores are a cooperative, and so every time you shop at one, you are actually supporting an independent retailer (aka, small business). Suburban Ace has a great selection and amazing customer service. Caution, if you shop here you are liable to encounter friendly staff who are knowledgeable and helpful - unlike the big box stores.

Best Ace in the Portland metro area. Im not saying the others are bad, they are really good too. The breadth of knowledge they collectively possess is outstanding. Im a pro commercial carpenter, and these guys have gotten me out many tricky situations with their ideas and solutions. Their fastener section is the best around. They carry tools that the big box stores do not, such as tap extractors, carbide burrs, odd ball tap and dies, great quality punches and cold chisels. The ace brand tools are top notch for the price.

I came for a battery for my air conditioner, doors wide open, staff with red vests standing around.we are closed! They say, I hold up the battery and ask, do you have this? They say, yes we have it but were closed, go away.So I leave, never to return. Wow! Most unhelpful!!

Never left without finding what I need, I hit this place up all the time. The staff is very helpful, if the person I ask doesnt know they always refer me to someone that does. Today I spent 3 bucks total on washers, screws and ferrules to install some catch cords on a bench lid.

Do better Ace Hardware. You have aisles marked with 2 customers per aisle, then two associates will bring two customers each into the aisle, making it 6 people. Didnt feel safe, took 20 minutes to get 16 wood screws.

Ace hardware on 185th is like an old school hardware shop. The people who work there know what theyre talking about, and you always have a specific selection of the important bits you need for DIY.

When I am looking for something at a hardware store, it is usually for something that doesnt fit into the picture like a puzzle piece; it is usually some one-off thing that I often doubt I will find anywhere.Well, I have never left this Ace Hardware store without exactly what I came for, regardless of how specific the thing I was looking for might have been. The staff are all friendly, prompt and greatly helpful with any assistance or questions you might have. I just wish I lived a little bit closer!

This place is so great. Like another reviewer said the employees are helpful, down to earth and honest. They also offer know-how without being condescending, or can just leave you alone if that’s what you prefer. Their inventory is a lot bigger than you might expect from a building that size and I always find what I need. I usually leave home depot in a terrible mood, but this place makes just me happy.

I know things suck lately but employee attitude goes a long way. Cashiers were fine but floor guys were crusty

There are a lot of high quality products. The shelves are well laid out and clear. The number of people going there is lower than Home Depot by a long shot. If you dont like people you will love this placeGetting in and out of the store is the only negative and the reason I did not give it 5 stars.

This ACE location always has what I need. Hardware selection is unmatched and they have lots of fitting/plugs/bushings/bearings/etc. to complete those projects going on in your life. Hours are short but it is worth finding the time if you want a 1 stop solution to your project needs.

Every one was kind and helpful when I needed!! I know these times are difficult and I appreciate the store being open. Things break and we would rather fix ourselves rather than have others come in our home. Thank you for being kind!!

This is quite literally the best Ace for a couple hundred miles (Im not alone in this opinion). Ive looked for specialty items to solve various problems in the high tech construction industry and the people at this store are fabulously creative. They are all very helpful and the store has a crazy huge inventory of things you dont yet know you need.
