Id purchased an equatorial wedge for an older tripod that didnt quite fit. The tripod is no longer in production and the new wedge required a larger tangent arm to allow for precise alignment. My options were limited. I needed to have an aluminum arm created to make it all work. I designed the part roughly, with tape measure accuracy, and took the plans to J&L Precision Machining. Jaime Lopez (owner) took a look at my plans, asked when I needed it by and said I can make this.Its an odd job, since I only need one, and Jaime gave me a price based on time to program (the CNC) and create. It was a fair price for what I needed. Jaime is an expert craftsman, he has the experience and the tools to make this happen. I picked up the new tangent arm on the day wed agree to have it completed. Awesome!Due to my own error and lack of accurate tools at home, one measurement was slightly off when I assembled it. I took it back the next day and he made a fast correction for me with no hassle. Thank you Jaime.Excellent experience! Would do business with them again.

Called around the West Portland area looking for someone to take the exhaust bolts of my motorcycle, that were sheared flush with the engine block. No one wanted to touch the bike. However, Jamie did, he gave me an accurate estimate, and finished the job extremely fast. Even installed the exhaust gaskets for me. Great work.

They may be ok as a general machine shop but dont expect them to know anything about automotive work. They charged $80 for a flywheel resurface and didnt do it right. Claimed that the correct process of grinding would cost $300.Now Im taking my flywheel to an auto shop to have it done properly. FOR $30!

Had a fabulous experience. I initially dealt directly with Jon, the owner, but also had positive experiences with the rest of the staff when picking up my completed job. Ill be returning with future work.
