Both of our experiences at Travel Country Outfitters have been very positive. We have bought kayaks and a kayak rack from them. They are helpful, knowledgeable and not pushy at all. When it came to the rack system my husband priced the pieces out on Amazon and found them to be right on track 👌 they also gave us a thorough tutorial on using the racks. This is the place to go!

Ok folks, voice of experience speaking: I’ve shopped here for over 20 years! Although I find the parking lot hard to enter, there are generally plenty of spaces. The front of the great looking store has a porch area for displaying kayaks and such, as well as their selection of Green Egg BBQ grills/smokers - stores are reeeal proud of Green Eggs, y’all, think $$$ - there was even an adorable vintage pickup display.Inside is well-ordered and stocked. I’ve been looking for xxsmall hiking pants, which I was beginning to despair of ever finding, but YAY, TCO had a pair of Patagonia in 0 with an elastic tie at the waist. And the price was right; outfitter clothing you often find near resorts, etc. can be outrageous. Omg, these are the first pair that worked and I’ve been looking for several years. They’re now mine!For a relatively (or perhaps deceptively?) small space TCO carries a wide variety of outdoor merchandise as well, all of it name brand, top quality.Bottom Line: Travel Country Outfitters is the Name and the Place for all of your outdoor sporting goods

This establishment is full of knowledgeable and amazing team members. I came in wanting to purchase shoes for lite hiking and I left feeling confident and prepared for my trip. They walked me through all the different types of shoes. Checked the projected weather for the city and timeframe I would be traveling. Cameron and Danny, are truly the epitome of great service. They created rapport and took the time to find out the specifics of what I wanted. I recommend this store 1,0000%.

My husband and I are thinking of buying 2 kayaks and we visited Travel Country Outfitters bc a neighbor had bought there and loved the service they received. Daniel from Travel Country Outfitters met us at Secret Lake Park with 2 different kayaks to try. Daniel was knowledgeable, helpful, patient, and all-around wonderful. We were able to compare a sit-on-top kayak vs. the sit-inside kayak and make an informed decision. What other store would do that??? Highly recommend this store!

Very knowledgeable and friendly staff! I came in looking for climbing shoes after checking 2 REIs that had little to no stock. Travel Country had every model in every half size to try on which was so beneficial! The staff took a bunch of time with me to help me choose the right shoe and offered fit advice. They also have a few climbing holds to test the shoes out on.

Picked up the Falcon 11 kayak. Only been out in it once but planning another trip soon. So far I really enjoy this model. The staff and experience was awesome at Travel Country. If you never been Id recommend checking them out!

I found this very hard to get trailer Yakima easyrider while looking for countless hours on the web, I called them and they were very nice, very professional and responded to all the many questions I had . I live 6 hours away and told them I would come on a Saturday to pick it up . They were closing at 5 pm and waited for me because I was running late and explained everything to me with out me ever feeling pressured to be kick out . They made sure all the lights were working properly before I left and the store is AMAZING . The assistant manager was super polite and showed me around the store. I drove back another 5 hours super happy and amazed on their customer service.

We had been searching all day for Kayaks with awful service and no luck at other retailers….. we stumbled upon Travel Country Outfitter with an hour to spare before they closed. We were greeted at the door with smiles, we told them our budget, then Brett worked his magic! Within 45 min we bought two kayaks that exceeded our expectations, they loaded them and tied them down in our truck for us and we were off! I will recommend this establishment over and over again!

TCO stands above the competition on two points. First, experience and knowledge of the gear they sell, and second, their customer service. When one is preparing for real outdoor adventure, you dont trust these things to the staff of a chain store who dont know what theyre doing. Go to TCO and get the real thing.

Ive always lived in Altamonte Springs, and we always drive this location till my husband brought a truck and he decided to get Yakima overhaul HD and they are amazing. They even install it for you as well. Best place to shop.

I prefer to shop local rather than online and keep our locals working . Have shopped here for years and never had an issue. Today I called and asked if they carried Oofos in a size 8, so I didn’t drive across town and waste a trip. I spoke to Alyssa who said she was “swamped” and “too busy” to check. I allowed an uncomfortable pause in the conversation, hoping she would take my number and check when she had a moment . Instead she reiterated how busy she wasn’t and didn’t have time to look.I called REI who was more than happy to place me on hold and check. Guess who will be getting my business in the future ?

We purchased two fishing kayaks, paddles and a trailer from Travel Country Outfitters. Brian helped us through the process and we are very glad we dealt with him and the other employees. We took both boats out today in fairly blustery circumstances and were happy with both. The Old Town 120 is a very stable and easily paddled boat. The Bonafide RS117 is not as stable but has some other desirable features not found on the Old Town.All in all we were very pleased with our purchase and our dealings with the crew at Travel Country Outfitters. Let me start out by saying what an amazing selection of outdoor gear. They have variety of equipment for hiking, canoeing, camping an much more. The price could be a bit hard on your wallet but if anything ask them about their outlet close by. Will be going back for some camping gear. They are a bit pushy on their high end stuff but great people. Go check it out and see what you could find.

We LOVE Travel Country. Everyone that works there is so knowledgeable and helpful. We were new to kayaking and had quite a few questions and the staff answered everything and they were so pleasant. Every now and then you come across a company that performs on an extremely high level, and exceeds your expectations. This was my experience with Brett at Travelcountry outfitters (TCO). My wife and I bought two moderately expensive high end Hobie Kayaks. Our initial interactions with Brett were so positive we knew we wanted to do our business with him and TCO. He explained every detail about the kayaks we asked him about. He maintained constant contact with us regarding tracking and what to expect when they shipped. The packaging was incredible, and took me about a half hour to unravel only to find that both kayaks were damaged! It is important to note that this was not TCO’s fault, but rather the trucking and delivery company they used. Needless to say, we were extremely disappointed. Of course we called Brett right away and from that moment on, he showed genuine concern and care for our unfortunate situation, and without going into too much boring detail, he turned our negative experience into a more than positive one by going above and beyond what most companies would do. That’s the important point. The true measure of a company’s customer care is not always when everything goes right, but rather how they handle themselves when it goes badly . Again, this wasn’t their fault but they took responsibility anyway to make sure we were happy Without hesitation, we would do business with a company like this again. Very happy with the customer service here! We had several people helping us and ensuring we were able to get all 4 kayaks safely into/onto one vehicle. They walked us through all of the steps while installing our Yakima Jaylow system and even took the time to tie it all down. We are new to the area and to kayaking and they took the time to answer every question we had and even gave us some pointers on where to go and how to handle potentially dangerous situations out on the water. Because of their commitment to excellent customer service and building strong rapport with their customers, we will recommend them to everyone we know who is looking for outdoor gear. I visited this store to gear up before a trip overseas, all I needed was rain pants.... Walked out $1000 poorer but much better equipped. Staff is friendly and really tries to find you what you need and can give you honest opinions of different items. Rewriting my review. After having a problem at travel outfitters for not being able to get my roof rack installed, I received a reply back from the owner and a call back from one of the employees wanting to fix the issue. I appreciate the call back and it shows that this company truly cares about their customers. After receiving a message from the employee that they’d offer to come to my home to do the install or work out a deal for me to get it installed. I decided to find a day or time that works out for me and that employee to get my roof rack installed. Thank you. And I will definitely be coming here again.

Customer service is really great. Store has the essential items needed for outdoor life. There isnt anything too extravagent but it has to be exactly what you need if you arent picky. Atmosphere is very outdoorsy and everything is in a clear defined space. Plenty to look at without feeling overwhelmed.

Picked up an inflatable kayak and an inflatable paddle board. Phil and Marcus were great and extremely helpful. When I set the kayak up at home, I found a problem before I could even get it on the water. I took it back and Brett and Jeremy were there to help. Probably the best customer service Ive received from a retail store in years. They went out of their way to replace the kayak, make sure the replacement was ready to go, and make a customer went home happy. Great job!

I recently went for a month long hike in Nepal Himalayas and needed a lightweight and good backpack. The salesman who assisted me was very knowledgeable and friendly, spent plenty of time with me helping me chose the pack that would best match my needs. He then said that his goal is not to sell the pack that day, but to help me make informed decision, and asked me to go home and do some more research as exactly how much weight I will be carrying and so on. This was unusual to me and though I could get the bag bit cheaper online, I went back to the store and bought it.Broke the plastic buckle of one of the fastening belts in last few days of trip. Went back to the store to get it fixed. The sales girl looked at the bag, and she said I will get it replaced for you. I did not have a receipt. She tried to pull my records in the store and unfortunately the bag wasnt listed. She then said she recognizes me and had seen me in store, got her manager and told her the same and got me the bag replaced without receipt, five months after I had purchased it!!! WOW.I rarely get this level of hassle free customer service. Its bit pricey, but every penny worth it!

The store had exactly what I was looking for and more to choose from. The employee was very patient and asked us relevant questions to help us pick the right product. I visited TCO to buy a scouts uniform for my son and I cant explain how kind and helpful staff members here are, especially to a newbie like me. The store has everything and more. If you are outdoorsy or want to be and need help with how to go about it, Im sure TCO wont just help you with the goods but will guide you with your endeavor. And thats what makes it stand out.

So rude, they just hang up the phone if they don’ like you. Not sure whether this is a discrimination against guests. UPDATE: Yes, it ’s your store. I got your phone and address from the brand partner, same with google, and the phone prompt is yours. I was just trying to determine if you were selling the goods I needed, and then go to the store, and these things happened, and it was very frustrating. A man made it clear that it was your store, said to check it, then hung up the phone, called again, take it, and hung up immediately. Called used from another friends phone. A lady answered it. She hung up before I said it. I called again and hung up when I picked it up. I dont know how you would treat your customers phone like this.

He answered every question my husband and I had thoroughly and without judgement. I ordered a jacket online from Travel Country and things did not go as planned. Due to a mix-up they shipped my order to the wrong customer and I received someone elses order in return. What made the situation even worse was that the jacket I ordered was on clearance and the last of its kind was diminishing from stores quickly (why I ordered online...couldnt find in a local store any longer). After waiting and staying in contact with me I was informed that unfortunately the jacket I ordered may not ever be returned. I searched online to an even more dismal inventory and found the jacket for $50 more somewhere else. I did let the shop know how disappointed I was and that I was only finding it in my size for more $$$.OK..OK why am I leaving them 5 stars? Well the customer service was great. They were responsive and took full responsibility for their mistake. I realize mistakes happen but their response was apologetic and quick even though I was frustrated with them. They ended up refunding the money I paid AS WELL AS the additional money to purchase from the other seller. Customer service isnt an easy job especially if you make a mistake. Thanks for refunding me the extra money to purchase the jacket from a different seller and for the great customer service!

Great staff! If you are willing to tell them your situation they will work with you to get you the gear you need. Prices are fair for the level of service and quality of gear they have. You could shop online at other stores for cheaper prices but they might not have the selection or model/style you need. Often Ive been in with one product in mind and they make me aware of a few that meet my needs better then what I wanted.

Full service backpack fitting, custom boot insoles and etc. Very knowledgeable staff in all the departments to answer any type of question you might have. Incredible selection. They had tons of shoes for my size 10.5 feet (almost always the opposite for me) and a staff that was willing to bring down 20 pairs of shoes (literally) for me to try on without me asking and with a smile on their face. I was asked by three different employees if I needed help, but they were in no way pushy or rude, just incredibly helpful. I told them about how I was a camp counselor and they even gave me a discount on my Osprey pack because they knew I was on a tight budget. This is by far my new favorite store in Orlando. Ill be shouting their praises to the rooftops until I leave!

Great outdoor store. Sales people are both friendly and well informed. Lots of technical clothing, camping gear, and kayaks. The fly fishing shop is sadly nearly gone as their fly guy retired. But theyre discounting fly stuff while it lasts.

I needed a part for my brand of kayak which Travel Country retails and they wold not place a special order for me when I know good and well that they have the capability to do so since you cannot order the parts directly from the manufacturer. found another retailer that was more than happy to help. Also noticed a mark up on most products that can be found elsewhere cheaper. At least they smile and say hi to you when you walk in. No longer doing business here.

Awesome store! Friendly and helpful staff are always willing to answer questions. Just a tip: most of the stuff thats in their store is current model year gear and not much is available at a discount. If you want to find the real bargains check their website, they offer free shipping to locals as well as in-store pickup.

I needed (specifically) an Eagle Creek XL duffle bag. When I rang to check stock, they offered me a choice of 4 colours.! Called in to pick it up and had a great chat with the staff. Happy, smiley faces all round.

This store is the place to go for the Vibram shoes in Orlando, FL. I couldn’t find them anywhere else in town. And, while I found what I was looking for, the staff and the service make you feel at home. I appreciate their flexibility in letting me take the product home and see if I’m really happy with it. I exchange it once, and they were awesome about it. Go check them out.

I recently purchased a nice sleeping bag from TC. The packaging, product, and price were perfect. We had an issue with shipping, and Ian and Kevin were friendly and helpful and really made sure that I would receive my item by sending a duplicate (I returned the lost one when it eventually arrived). Super friendly and helpful staff. They sell boy scout and girl scout clothing and materials (books, goddess, etc). They didnt have the right size bet we needed, but they were able to cut one down to size. I definitely recommend this store (dont tell REI, because Im usually a loyal pattern of theirs - Im not sure I will be much longer though). Keep up the great work guys!!

I have been purchasing from them for years. The service has always been exceptional. I recently had to get a copy of a receipt from a purchase in 2008. They were able to find the purchase and quickly print a receipt. There service for the last 10 years has always been the best ever.

The selection is great and the staff is wonderful! One associate in particular, a bearded gentleman....The young and verile type. His product knowledge seemed to be unmatched. As he spouted off all of the features and benefits of the product I was holding...I couldnt help but be mesmerized by his piercing blue eyes.

So it should be a 5, Noah was extremely helpful and patient in helping my clueless parents select a proper bag. Mind you we did not know they close at 6pm and held them up a little, they were all incredibly forgiving about it, but one employee was just super disrespectful and looked like he wanted to roll his eyes at my mom hunting for her sunglasses she lost whilst trying on backpacks.He could not be bothered to help us, which I get it, we kept you late...but there is no reason to treat anyone like that. All the other employees were wonderful and why Ill come back.

I have bought three kayaks from them since July. Have been happy with the service and selection every time Ive been in. They have a fairly large stock of kayaks and equipment in the retail store, and what they dont have, many times they have in their offsite warehouse and can get to the retail store within a matter of hours. For some items they are pricier than you can get online, but I would rather the small local business get my money than the big chains or Amazon. The ability to test kayaks out prior to buying them is a huge plus. Check the store for their demo days. Will be a repeat customer.

I came today (01/11/2016) to buy two Kayaks for about $ 2200 plus all the accessories that are necessary for Kayaking (All for about $ 2900) after being in the store for second time. Their customer service was a big failure today. I agreed on the first Kayak and the second wasnt available at the store but available at the warehouse that is about 7 min drive from the store. When I asked if they can give me a discount buying two old model 2015 Kayaks they said no way and when I asked if they can take me to the warehouse to get the second Kayak they also said NO and that I have to come back again on Monday. I explained them that I live far from the store that I did not have time to come back on Monday and the answer was you will have to come back on Monday because our staff is too busy on Sundays. Let me ask you this Travel Country, with so many stores over the internet that are selling the same product without taxes, lower price and that also ship the product straight to your house how is that you dismiss a customer that is about to spend $ 2900 in a day and you gamble to lose a customer for life ?
