My spa heating unit failed last week I called Universal AC and they sent someone over fairly quickly and had it repaired in a single visit. The tech Jason was extremely knowledgeable and courteous. Highly recommend this outfit!

Ive used this company several times and they have always been very responsive and on time. Brandy and Samantha the ladies that I have talked to were always friendly and personal, they always went above and beyond whenever I had a concern or question. Their technicians have always been on time and punctual which is a plus for someone with busy schedule. They do have some new technicians (in the past that I used) that just started working that may need some more hands-on training so they can handle issues more professionally which would give customers more confidence. Overall positive experience, keep up the good work!

Josh (the technician) arrived on time; quickly and efficiently did the installation of the new pool heater. He was friendly and patient and explained all the details of what to expect. The transaction was smooth...this gets my Highly Recommended ribbon.

They were called because my pool heat pump was leaking pool water. The tech came out, took the heat pump covers off, and found a leak at the plumbing fitting going into the heat pump. He told me they dont do plumbing repairs, then he put the covers back on and left.I tried turning the heat pump on, and it didnt work because the tech had disconnected the control wire. I called them back to come out and fix what the tech had messed up. Another tech came out and fixed the control wire.Then, I get an $85 bill for the first service call. They said they didnt find any leaks and the water was condensation from normal use and the service call was not covered under warranty. Funny, the heat pump wasnt running and the tech even told me he found a leak in the plumbing connection.Then, I get a second $85 bill for the second service call to fix the control wire that the first tech forgot to reattach!So, they want $170 for not fixing the original problem, and they totally fabricated the write up on the bill to justify this. They were told it was a pool water leak before they came to my house, they came anyway even though they dont fix those types of problems. By the way, I even tested the leaking water for chlorine, which was present, so this was definitely pool water, not condensation.I have called them 4 times now over 4 months, and they have not responded other than to keep sending me more bills. Stay away from this company!Response to response: Mr. Jereczek, if you discounted my account, thank you. However, this is the first I’ve heard of it. I received two invoices from your company on 8/13/21 with “Past Due” stamped on them.To the rest of your response, your facts are not correct. I shut down the unit for several days and tested the leaking water for chlorine before I called your company to make sure it wasn’t condensation—there was chlorine in the leaking water. Then, I shut down the unit for a week before your tech arrived to make it easier for him to find the leak. Since the unit was still under warranty, I wanted you to document if it was an internal leak. The unit was, in fact, leaking when your tech looked it over. He even found the leak at the PVC fitting and told me your company doesn’t fix pool water leaks. There was no condensation because the unit was not running.I didn’t call 3 weeks later, that’s just the invoice dates. I actually called the very next day because the unit wouldn’t turn on at all. I did not say anything about a continued leak. The only reason for the second visit was to fix what the first tech forgot to reconnect. The heat pump was set up to control remotely and had been working for nine months before the first tech showed up. The second tech did not run a new control wire, he simply plugged in the existing cable that the first tech unplugged.I did call 4 times, and I documented it. I talked to Brandi on 4/28, 5/18 and 6/16. Each time she told me Julia would call me back, but I never got a response. I left a message at 4:58 pm 8/13 (a Friday), after receiving the Past Due invoices. Alden called me back about 30 minutes later. I explained what happened, and he said he would discuss in the office on Monday and get back to me. He was very nice, but I never got a call back.I understand your position based on what is documented on the invoices; however, the write ups are not even close to being accurate. Maybe the techs confused my house with someone else, I don’t know. I appreciate you crediting my account, but, in my opinion, I had to spend way too much of my time to get this straightened out.

We used Universal Heat & Air to fix our pool heater. They have great customer service & their pricing is very fair. Josh, the tech, was very courteous and knowledgeable. He even gave us a few tips to prevent further damage. I highly recommend.

We were referred to Universal by Aquaworks. We were hoping the electrical pool heater could be repaired, but after Josh inspected it, he determined it needed to be replaced. He explained all of our options and we decided a refurbished unit would be best. Josh came back 3 weeks later and installed the unit by himself. He also advised us to get a solar pool cover so our pool could reach the desired temperature of 86 degrees. My friend was skeptical and said her pool has solar panels doesnt ever heat up to 86 degrees and apparently solar panels are the best. Well, our pool has been a constant 86 degrees since we got the solar cover. Josh told us the cheaper solar cover that we cut to fit would only last a couple of years, despite what it may state on the packaging. The cover was $125, but it was a much cheaper option than solar panels and it works!! He also inspected our electric panel and advised us to get a licensed electrician to replace the electrical pump fuse. Josh is truly a wealth of knowledge and more importantly, trustworthy. Universal is the only company we will call for whatever heating and air conditioning problems in our home because of the wonderful customer service Josh and the girls at the office provide! They are just good people.

After a different company came over and said it couldn’t be repaired and they quoted me 6.500 on a new heat pump for my pool, needed a second opinion.I contacted Universal heating and air.This company is awesome!Josh and Eddie were just at my home right on time. I want to thank Josh and Mark for doing an awesome job installing a brand new pool heat pump. Actually the whole experience from the initial visit, quotes and finally the installation was great. Josh and Mark were prompt and friendly. It was not a straight forward install as the piping from the pool heater to the pool pump needed to be run under a concrete walkway. I very much appreciated the professional work, that the area was left completely clean once the work was completed and that they walked me through the running, maintenance and other information needed to have the best experience with the heater. I will use this company for any maintenance/service on the heat pump as well as my house AC and Heating in the future. I was very impressed with the attention to detail.

Upon arrival on our vacation to escape the cold in the northeast we found our air conditioning was not working. Being an HVAC technician back home it was a weird experience having to call a HVAC company for myself. I made the call and the whole experience was great! Brandy set everything up and Kevin and Eddie showed up on time and repaired my air conditioning and cleaned and serviced the unit as well! Contacted through GulfStream to repair a thermostat on our pool heater, part is under warranty, labor is not. They can’t/won’t give you a reasonable arrival time so I stayed home only to be called at 3:30pm on Friday. and told they had a “major A/C job” and had to reschedule-tech wouldn’t be done until 8pm. I scheduled for Tuesday and again, stayed home. I called at 1:15pm to inquire about arrival time. I was told I was not on the schedule for Tuesday. Again, they had a “major A/C job” and had no time for my job. They cancelled my Tuesday appointment without notifying. me, although they claim to have left a message for “Amy,” whoever she is. Why would they call to cancel if they’d just told me I wasn’t on the schedule? I agreed to Wed. but asked for a morning appointment. Nope, can’t do that even though THEY cancelled twice. Rude office person, very unprofessional business practices. It’s clear they have NO INTENTION of doing this warranty job. I called GulfStream to request a different company come out to do the work. I’d never do business with a company who doesn’t value its customer’s time as this one clearly does not.

We had an issue with our gas pool heater. One company told us the whole thing needed to be replaced. I called Universal for a second opinion. Cullen arrived on time, was so knowledgeable and thorough and answered my many questions very patiently. He was able to replace a display And sensor that was bad and got the unit running WITHOUT having to replace it. He did an excellent job. Contacted the office to request a quote to replace my down a/c- heat pump unit. Jim came out and did a thorough job recon to check space, electrical and site conditions. Next Sandy worked with me to find out my needs. She then sent a proposal with several options to choose. We went back and forth to narrow down what would work best for me. I called and ordered the York system which was the highest rated for energy efficiency and performance. It took a week to get us in the schedule. Mark and Ed “the Cuban sensation” came out yesterday and did the install. First they laid out drop cloths in the garage for protection. The worked methodically and smoothly to remove the old gear and install the new system. Towards the end of the day Josh the service manager came out to inspect and set-up the wifi thermostat. We downloaded an app to run all the settings. We then went thru the operations so I was comfortable with all. The high tech thermostat is really very easy to use. When the crew was done they picked up any debris and left the garage broom clean. I had used Del air for 30 years; but they have become too big and their service has really suffered. I had 4 other companies bid the job and Universal had the most energy efficient, best performing and actual the lowest price for comparable equipment. Sandy or Samantha actual will answer the phone without going thru any phone prompts. Just been a day but already the York is performing so much better than my old high end Lennox system. Give them a call.

I got a great deal on my Gulfstream HI 125. -T-A. It is a heater/chiller that will cool my pool this summer. The whole family was great including Sandy who was very helpful in the quote and final install. Mark was very nice along with the owners son, sorry I forgot his name. I talked to Dave the owner about recommendations for Heater/Chillers. Great job ! Looking forward to a warm pool now and a cool pool this summer. I have a 2000 gallon Spa/pool combination.July 11: additional comment. My Spa/Pool was 91 degrees. Turned on the Chiller for 50 minutes and the water temp is now 86! Hi, I posted a review about a company with the same name in Orlando after having a very bad experience. The folks from this company in Altamonte Springs replied that they thought I had the wrong company and supplied a phone number. I spoke with a very professional lady to apologize and promised to remove the review. She told me that she often gets calls from people like me with bad experiences with the other Universal HVAC. I will repost my review on the right company, and think that this company is far more professional and trustworthy. I apologize for any issues this mistake may have caused, and appreciate that it was pointed out to me so kindly.

Outstanding customer service and very friendly. We had an issue with our pool heater that they fixed quickly at a reasonable price. They also called me later to tell me they found out the unit was actually still under a parts warranty which was unknown to us since the unit came with our home. However they informed me of it, refunded me some of the charges and then told me they would be finishing the repairs at no additional parts cost to us just the labor. Very happy customers. They didnt have to tell us this they could have just charged us as we had no idea it was still under warranty, thats quality service. The techs who came were knowledgeable and friendly.

I love them! One of my clients actually used them and thats how I found them. I have been using them for over a year and have had them work on 4 properties for AC maintenance or an AC freeze over. I hate to say I am hard to please but I have my own business and its important to me to keep my clients happy, and I only like to work with others that share that value, otherwise I usually end up frustrated and unhappy in one way or another. They definitely care and do a good job! I trust them.

Josh came to check on my heating pump that I thought it was leaking. He took the time to explain me about the condensation process. He was very professional and I definitely will use Universal heating and air conditioning for my annual maintenance and anything else related to my pool heating pump.

If I could give a negative number I would. I have a pool heater that’s only 1.5 years old and we had a alarm and the pool was cold and I placed a call. AT NO TIME WAS I INFORMED by the office (which I now found out was their answering service) nor their technician that if they came out and it wasn’t a problem with the heater then we would have to pay. It’s wasn’t until the issue was not resolved that I was made aware of this and that I had an outstanding invoice. I told them I was not made aware of it and they took away my choice, I was told I’d get a call back from the office I never did. This was a few weeks ago then today their accounting dept calls and told me that their answering service is not aware of their policy so how is this my problem your admitting I wasn’t made aware of it and yet she kept arguing with me! I’m not paying for something I was not given a choice for. Your guys are fraudulent and horrible customer service and just don’t want to hone your warranty. Considering I paid $5,000 for that heater I would expect better service than this! NEVER USE THESE PEOPLE!

I recently purchased a new air conditioning system from Universal. The price, including installation, that they quoted me was reasonable and exactly what was quoted, The installation was done in one day. The technicians were professional and respectful. I would recommend them without hesitation.

Universal Heating & AC is a pleasure to work with! I needed a time-sensitive evaluation of my pool heat pump before a house closing. The company that manufactures the unit sent me to Universal; I called late on a Friday, and an appointment was scheduled for Monday. I was called to confirm on Monday morning and called when the tech rep was 30 minutes from my house. Brian arrived, went right to work, kept me abreast of everything he was doing and fixed the unit in an incredibly short period of time. Brian was courteous, friendly and highly professional. A fully descriptive invoice arrived to my e-mail the next day that I could use for repair disclosure to my client. I recommend this Company highly!

They had to come out twice because the first time the tech said our pool heater was working fine, we just werent giving it enough time or something. We gave it more time and the spa still wasnt heating properly. So another tech, Reggie, came out and figured out the first guy was right, it wasnt the unit - it was the incorrect way we were using our pools plumbing/valves. He spent a long time confirming his diagnosis by facetiming with his boss and came back with an explanation that was absolutely correct and had to do with a slight change we had made, and one aspect of our system we didnt understand correctly. And then they even gave us a break on the cost of the 2nd visit, even though it was really our own fault! Great, friendly, thorough service and an education, to boot. Thanks, Universal!

Thank you Universal Heating and Air Conditioning for coming out to fix my A/C on the hottest day so far this year. My house was set at 77 when I came the the house was 84! I told Home over the phone that the fan on the outside unit was not working and there was smoke coming from the unit. 20 years ago, My husband Monroe Weiss discovered a problem with our pool heater. A local repair company told him we needed a new heater which could be installed for $5000. Then Monroe called Universal Heating and Air Conditioning Inc, Altamonte Springs. They sent a gentleman who fixed the heater for $40. It is still working perfectly and still heating our pool currently in 2017. Over the years, Universal has serviced our two air conditioning units and kept them running. This year, we finally asked them to replace these old units with two new air conditioners. Chris Vaczi and his assistant installed the new a/c units today . They are good. This is a reliable, efficient, trustworthy company with knowledgeable technicians, and an outstanding customer service oriented team both in the office and in the field. My AC went out at 3 oclock on a Saturday right after we finished doing work in the yard. We were freaking out. I called Universal and they had someone at my house within 45 minutes. They repaired my air-conditioning and it was totally affordable. They are my new air-conditioning company!

I called UH&AC to repair a Bryant unit that was installed by another company. By the time I called UH&AC I was ready to have the Bryant unit removed as I had called the company who installed the unit out five times in the year and a half since installation and the unit was still not working properly. Universal had Chris V out within the day to look at the Bryant unit. Chris uncovered several installation issues, and ordered parts to repair. This point being a year and half after installation, our Bryant unit was still under warrantee for parts but not labor. Chris and UH&AC spoke with the Bryant rep to help cover the labor costs [even though UH&AC did not do the botched installation]. Much thanks to Universal as well as the Bryant rep for helping to cover the cost of repairs. Chris completed the repairs a week ago and so far the unit has worked without issue, and we have hit several 95 degree days. Thank you to Universal and Bryant.

They have been my Spa Heat Pump Service company for many years. Recently, I had them install a new replacement heat pump which they did very quickly, professionally and neatly. A rarity in Orlando! Excellent company!

They could not fix problem All within a week or so first time they came out so they charged to come out a second time said it was something else and then could not fix it third time and tried to charge a bigger price!! All with same issue. I don’t mind if they needed more experienced techs to come out problem is they do t have good techs therefore the problems continued and never was properly address with pool heater but I was suppose to keep pay for different techs to fix it... finally head guy whomever he was fixed it but still having some issues. I called again and they said no can’t help because I said I was not going to pay anymore upcost I suggest calling someone else! They take your money! And don’t fix the problem ! 😢

Cullen came out and services our A/C unit and did an excellent job. He was very professional and knowledgeable.

This was the second company I had called out to fix the heat pump on my pool. The first guy couldnt fix the issue. Universal was referred to me by friends at Pinch-A- Penny They not only fixed what turned out to be a simple problem, but also for the same fee went through all the components of the heat pump with me standing there and helped me understand how to operate and even changed a bad capacitor with out a charge. I highly recommend them for what ever repair project you might have.

Super fast and friendly service. Called them the same day about an a/c repair (outside unit keeps running and wouldn’t turn off) and they sent their technician within 2 hours! Very easy to get a hold of them and they were all friendly and thorough through the entire process. Will use them again in the future!

Would highly recommend! Just had new Carrier AC unit for the house installed and a Thermeau heat pump for our pool! Quality of workmanship excellent, customer service excellent . Call them, you wont be disappointed.

I had them install a new unit at my house: Chris was awesome and very polite and he knows his stuff. I was so impressed that when my ac starting acting up at work I called and asked if they could come out. I spoke with Brandy and Sandy and they had Chris at my office in less that 2 hours. ( the other company I used before, it took 3 different visits with 3 different techs to fix my problem.) Chris ran a few tests and found the problem. He fixed it and my bill was under $150. The other company I used before would charge me around $300-$500. Highly recommend this company... Matt

I spent 850.00 for a coil cleaning and blower cleaning and I was assured the unit would perform much better and blue colder air... And it is blowing more air but not any colder.... I have contacted the technician and he could care less... he wont answer his phone nor a text.... Very unsatisfied customer.... Next stop better business bureau.... then its call channel 8.... then I will have magnetic signs made for my truck on how I got ripped off...Ted Davis
