Great place for music lessons. My daughter takes guitar and my boy does drums. Their teachers are great and John, the guy who assists with setting up lessons, is amazing and always easy to work with.

Always accommodating and very helpful. They care very much about the students in this community and their access to the tools needed to be successful in their musical journey.

Small guitar section but affordable and nice place and location

Extremely friendly and helpful. But they have trouble ordering the right parts. I have been there several times now and I still havent got 1 of the 2 parts yet.

Best damn store in Alton

Just got my first guitar yesterday and had broken a string by trying to get it back in tune today. Took it to Halpin and they had the string replaced and also adjusted the neck within 10 minutes. It cost me a whole $2. I will definitely be going back when I need service or need to purchase stuff for my new guitar. Great customer service.

Never open on weekends! When do these people think musicians play and need gear??

Pulled up and they werent open yet. Employee was washing windows outside and offered to take care of us. Have always supported Halpin and will continue.

I have rented musical instruments for both my kids. My experience here has always been great. Great staff, always willing to help and educate customers. Rental prices are also not too bad.

Was told this was the best place for instrument repair, so I loaded up my sons sax and made the trek from Highland before work. When I arrived they were not open and wouldnt be for two more hours! However, a nice gentleman saw me pull in and came out to tell me they are working on having this corrected on Google and invited me inside to have the repairman look at the sax anyway. Quick turnaround and the sax is in tip top shape for a great price. To top it off, the staff who were present when we picked it up were very helpful showing us what we needed to buy without selling us stuff we didnt need, and even showed my son how to use the reed for the first time! We are just starting for the first time with a fifth grader in band and our younger son wont be far behind. We will definitely be Halpin customers for lots of years.

Zoe, my granddaughter, takes violin lessons there. It is amazing what she has learned after just a few weeks.

Trusted the company that our school partnered with for new band student and rental of a used clarinet. Found out paid almost 3x the price of a new student clarinet in the rental. Total rip off. Once we had to upgraded her clarinet and I learned more about them, I realized how much we were mislead. Shop around and do your research. Do not just trust them because they are part of the school band programs. Nice people, but not worth it at all.

Wonderful local music store. We have had several kids take lessons and the teachers there are top notch.

It seems as though the technicians that repair instruments cant repair the instruments correctly without having to send them out for repairs. The customer has to tell and show what exactly is broken or needs repairs. Th oo bad they are the only musical instrument repair shop in Alton

My sons saxophone has been there a number of times. The last time he got it back the band director said that it wasnt fixed. It went back and still hasnt been fixed for 3 weeks! I have traveled down there in the past and had several words with them. This is the last time it goes back!

Bad experience. Our band teacher left my daughters instrument there last Thursday. They never even touched it and her band recital is tomorrow. Their representative never bothered to contact the school or teacher. We drove all the way to Alton and took it to Millers Music on Swansea. He got it fixed enough to be ready for band recital that night! What a miracle worker. Halpins said it would take them weeks to get it fixed. OMG!The clerk at Halpins offered an apology after I mentioned the situation. Nothing from the owners themselves. We dont treat our own customers that way, speaking as a business owner. Sad to say, some businesses just dont care.
