Some of the best customer service Ive ever had! My boyfriend is knowledgeable but Sam, Jacob and the first gentleman who helped (Im so sorry i forgot his name 😟) were great! Between their knowledge, patience and willingness to help and recommend products I feel extremely satisfied and comfortable with my purchase! Thank yall, and keep up the great work! When you visit, be sure to check that the price tag matches the product on the shelf. Their staff stocked a few items on the shelf and the price tag did not match those items. When checking out, the fan was $15 more than the price tag shown. I asked the store to honor the price since the items were stocked incorrectly from their staff. The cashier tried to help but overall, the team lead (manager) did not fix the staffs mistake. I was very disappointed in the experience so I cancelled my $100+ purchase and went to Walmart instead.

Academy really does have lots to choose from whether your purchasing a fire arm or looking for just about any *type of shoe or boot, chances are they will have it. Prices can be a little higher in areas however they carry so much and they have knowledgeable people in each department. They add extra value by having good friendly team members. I can’t remember ever seeing a rude or not happy employee any time I’ve been there and I frequent this business!

I was looking for new work boots and could not find anything because the shoe department was so disorganized and there were no workers in sight .

Store was clean went looking for some free weight equipment looks like they are no longer selling it in stores they had a few plates but only for the threaded bars none for Olympic bars, basic dumbell options and kettle balls. No wight machines, work out benches, squat racks, or bench presses... all there options fit in a 15x15 floor area. They had more space dedicated to yoga mats.

Clerk said if I signed up for a loyalty deal, would get a 15 dollar credit on purchase. Asked straight up, is it a credit card. He replied No Sir! Was a credit card. Would have got a 5!!!!!

The store was clean and cool. We went for shoes and found the perfect shoes and they so happened to be on sale. Over all our experience was great, we did wait a little while you check out but nothing we couldnt handle. The cashier was great and friendly.

Academy truly has everything you need! Great deals on back to school clothing and shoes. Top gear for camping and fishing, and lets not forget Amazing deals on all your Hunting rifles and handguns.

Little disappointed trying to shop with a mess like this! And only 3 cashiers open with a long line of customers! Management should try to take more pride in making customers shopping experience a good one with an organized, clean store

They are a very nice sporting goods store. The friendlyness of the staff is hit and miss. Because of Covid their not stocked well but they seem to be making due with the limited supply.

Horrible services at the Amarillo location. Waited in line to check out and with 15 people in line the cashier just decided to close his register down and walk away leaving one other register open with 30 people in line. Horrible service.

App wouldnt let me check-in for curbside pick-up. Called the number listed and was put on hold because she was assisting another customer. Gentleman finally came on the line and promptly brought out my order.

Waited 30 mins for someone to help me. Even asked for an associate. Apparently they dont want my business so I left and went elsewhere.

Not that much of a selection of stuff to buy, workers are rly lazy and barley help people put the big and heavy stuff into their basket. i most likely recommend shopping here for clothes cuz they have more of that then anything else in the store

Hello. I ordered a green Coleman grill $332.76, for my dad, for his fathers day present, from the Academy Website. It was delivered to my home and unfortunately it was broken. We took it back, to the Amarillo, TX location, just for a simple refund, I thought, to my Academy Account. The gentleman that was helping us, Grizzly, at the service desk, was very kind, sweet and really understanding, was helping us, with no issues. Then, for no reason, a manager ( that should NEVER be in customer service or be a manager) came over out of nowhere, his name is BJ, and looked at the box and said that I didnt order it from Academy. As I was standing, with my phone in my hand, I was on my Academy Account showing the order number with the picture of the grill. BJ treated me as if I was trying to pull a fast one, very rude, very demeaning and aggressive about the entire thing and nobody even requested his presence at the counter. BJ acted like I was a liar and he was doing me a favor by going ahead and taking care of me. I said well I received a broken grill you should take care of me . He was unbelievably hateful about the whole thing. He left after I got upset. The guy that was originally helping us said BJ is the most complained on manager. I dont think he should work their anymore. Made me want to spend my money somewhere else.

Very friendly staff. Had almost everything I wanted. I was allowed to bring my dog in and not leave him in the hot truck.

Went in to get everyday tennis shoes. Lots of brands to pick from. Sizes were all stirred up and the brands I was looking for did not have my size or even close. Other brands that did were priced at $130 or higher. Ridiculous!!!

Got directions where to find the product I was looking for at the front and the directions were completely wrong and we couldnt find another worker anywhere in the area went to the clothing area and found somebody and her radio didnt work so she spent 15 minutes looking for a radio that worked and finally after she came back and had her radio working somebody who knew where the item was came around and we got the item and finally got out of there. Spent well over 45 minutes trying to get one item...

They told me they would be here on the 17th, and guess what, todays the day and they aint here, academy are liars. (Ill change my rating to a 5 star if it shows up at the end of the day tho😂)

Finally got plates for lifting. Called for 3 weeks straight and popped in randomly to finally get some 45lb plates. Great stuff for my home gym.

Love academy. The staff does a great job of keeping items in stock. Even on Christmas Eve Eve with the line around the store the staff kept it moving and we were in and out.

The s/ore is always clean, ample lighting, and typically well stocked. Employees are knowledgeable and helpful.

We lost our keys. We requested the cameras be watched for clues after we looked the same 3 aisles for almost 3 hours. Shawn watched the cameras for us, walked us to our car to get info on vehicle, and got our contact information. We had the car towed home a few minutes after he contacted my sister that the keys were found. He combed the store and found the keys in the very spot that 5 of us looked. (In our defense he is like 3 feet taller then us) My sister could have been with out a Vehicle and because of his great customer service and dedication To being the one to find them he really made our night.

The people who work here are always super friendly, and they almost always have what I need, ammo being the exclusion to that right now.

I went in and puchased this beautiful piece yesterday! I wasnt expecting to walk out with it the same day, but i guess my background check went through a lot easier than some people. The associate said when I first got there that he had seen some background checks to take up to as much as a month for some people. So, I was very happy when I found out it went right through. Associate was very friendly and helpful!
