I was impressed with JC Penny as well. They had a large selection of on sale or marked down items in all departments that I saw. I bought a some nice clothes for under $40. I like the revamped JC Penny much more than the old . Will shop there again.

Jessica G. brought this store into a positive 5 star when she moved their from Odessa, Texas. Its sad that the new owners dont care about people who kill themselves for this store. 1 week after my daughter had covid they fired her saying she was not at 100%. I will never order or shop any JC Penny store for the rest of my life.

I went to customer service upstairs to pick up an online order. The gentleman that assisted me was very attentive and polite. I asked him why the store looked so desolate and he explained to me of the different floor plans and changes their making for a better shopping experience. He then reassured me that JCPenney Amarillo isnt going anywhere so to keep shopping and thanked me for my loyalty. Where can you find that kind of service anymore?? Great experience!

I visited Jcpenney today, and the personnel were courteous and helpful. The facility was not clean! The ladies restroom was pathetic!!!Toilet seat not fastened down, and the toilet paper cover was missing. What a sad condition considering all we have to worry about with Covd! We came to JC Penny to look for luggage and happened upon a sale. The problem JC Penny has always shared with other department stores is the complexity at checkout. It takes four or five minutes to complete even a single item with rewards, attempts at getting you a card etc. All of that takes time and especially when the store is busy it backs the line up a lot. We waited for about 15 minutes in a line of 3. When we walked out there were ten people in the main check out line. We were glad we werent there! If JC Penny could get over that they are a lot nicer place to shop than Walmart.

Ever since the stores have opened back up Ive gone about five times to shop and out of those five times three of those visits were very uncomfortable. Customer reps cashiers are very rude not very specific on how things are being run in store now as far as pain and being in line Ive had a cashier overcharged me after seeing the prices on the tags listed and not fix without me having to return and go to customer service. Waiting lines are long and if you are not in a specific point to wait to be next they send you to the back of the line. This is happened to us twice once at a cashier downstairs and the second time at customer service. Customer service advised me where the line was at which was where I was until someone else was placed in front of me I was 6 ft away from the register regardless waiting for my turn and customers from behind me were taken after that Im very disappointed with JCPenneys employees. I also have vision issues so anybody talking to me from a distance or even waving me down I believe or feel that it is for someone else. Yeah atmosphere is very fake Id rather shop online and have it delivered home. Im going to the store is so much of a hassle and I love JCP.

I feel the quality of the merchandise has declined overall the past few years. Still a good place to shop. Lots of different things, housewares, clothing, Sephora, shoes, bedding, bath, etc.

Early 2021 looking for dresses for graduation (possibly prom) only place I could find any. Had a good selection with a variety of styles.

We stood at register for about 5 minutes before we were even acknowledged by the cashier. No wonder so many stores are closing, especially with these type of people working

I love most of the products offered here, but the service needs a little work. I spent a good 30 minutes looking around for a much needed item, but I never saw an associate who wasnt at a register. Im not sure if they were short handed that day, but i might have been able to find what I needed if someone had been walking around the sales floor who could have assisted me - I just didnt want to interrupt someone who was needed at a register.

Sure isnt the J C Penney store from yesterday!! Empty shelves, aisles, very few customer service people. Found a couple of items on sale that I bought. With covid 19 restrictions no dressing rooms open. Decided not to buy a couple of items because I could not try on in store.

JCPenney is as it always is, convenient, and a good place to buy my Levis. The price is always on part with what I expect to pay. Never am I disappointed, nor overjoyed. I dont enjoy clothes shopping, and I get in and out there so that makes me somewhat happy...

I went to the store in amarillo texas, I bought some presents, and I bought a ring, and a pair of earrings, and the sales lady,was rushing me, was rude, and didnt put my jewelry,in the bag, I live out of town, and I cant come back,nor do I ever want to the sales lady was rude and I felt like I was being rushed

I went up to the salon to get some brushes, etc. I went over to the catalog dept. to check out with due to the salon having a long line. Cheryl was the employee. She was very kind and professional. The Petite Department is virtually non existent. Very disappointed. I was able to find a few tops but if I had needed pants I would have been out of luck. I am 5 foot 2. Cant wear ladies pants. I need short people pants. Thats it.

The staff here is exactly as helpful as you need them to be. If you need help they are easy to find and are glad to find what you need. If you want to be left alone they will leave you alone and let you browse. No asking if they can help you every five seconds like other places. Definitely like my local store.One issue is the stock isnt always particularly well organized. To be fair I think that has more to do with customers and number of people working the shelves than anything.

Ive always loved JCPennys. I love their brands and their sales. Unfortunately, for the past several years, the store is always a mess and dirty! I get how it might be hard, at busy times, to keep the clothes put in the right places...everything hung and folded properly and shoes stocked and in order. But the store is always a mess! Theyll have their sale racks randomly put places and so packed that its virtually impossible to look at the clothes that are hung up. Theres always clothes that have fallen on the ground and being stepped on and Ive seen several clothes ruined because of it. The dressing rooms are just nasty!! Im not sure any of the employees check them throughout the day...because if they did, there wouldnt be tons of clothes all over inside, on the floors, thrown on top of the dressing room doors. And trash...everywhere! Theres many times that theres been drinks left in there...with stuff still left in them and others that have spilled on the floor. Its just terrible. And the shoe department...oh my gosh! I dont even know where to begin with that department. I dont know if all of this is just that the staff is overwhelmed, or if they just arent concerned about this stuff. Or maybe its the management not doing their jobs. Maybe a bit of all. I dont know if its like this at other Pennys. Im only speaking of the one in Amarillo TX. I dont shop there as much as I used to. I truly hope that it can be fixed because its getting to the point that I dont want to shop there anymore. 🤞🏻

Lots of merchandise, helpful employees. Store is busy and there is a lot of areas it could improve as far as space and displays but they always have great bargains and sales! I love clearance racks and they have many. Great selection of kids shoes.

Very nice store with a great selection of items. The bathrooms were clean. Conveniently licated inside a large mall. The reason for only 2 stars is this: my daughter and I picked 2 sweaters to purchase off a rack (there were about 20-25 of these sweaters on the rack) that had a sale sign for $22.99 on it. We went to pay - only 1 customer in front of us and she was buying 2 items - it took the cashier 10 minutes to check her out!! When it was our turn she rings the sweaters up for $49.99 EACH. I told her no, there on sale and walked her over to the rack and showed her the sale sign. She said that was not the right sweaters for that price. The ENTIRE rack was filled with this sweater only. It wasnt like it only had 1 sweater that someone just put in there. They REFUSED to honor the sale price, even when it was their error! Will never shop here again. I told her what she could do with the 2 sweaters that I wanted and said there was no way I would pay $49 each. So, if you do shop here and are expecting something on sale, CHECK YOUR RECEIPT, OR WATCH EACH ITEM RING UP to make sure they are not ripping you off and charging you full price. They really showed no good CUSTOMER SERVICE. Sad. Because I really like J.C. Penneys!!

I think JC Penney is a good store. I like their dress shirts better than Brooks Brothers shirts and you can buy 3 for the same price as Brooks Bros. I have also found their linens to be very well made. I get my haircuts at Penneys, but at a store in Austin. Good prices. I hope Penneys doesnt go the way of Sears and Montgomery Wards. Penneys is far superior and I hope JC Penney Company makes it through the current economic downturn.

The store was stocked and organized. Most the time Im looking for pants for awhile. Everything is out of order in most stores. Its tough to find 34×36. I went right to them. Not much help from the employees, reason for the 4 stars. Very clean so and comfortable store though.

This JCPenney is not comparable to the ones in big city. But, it is a pretty nice store in town.

Stafford mens clothes were very good and had a lot more quality built into themThe store in Amarillo has no assistance in mens department for customers. You can tell their clothes are the same that they once carried. I am disappointed in their commitment to the consumer. You feel like they are in competition with Amazon. I dont intend to purchase my clothes their any more

I really like this store, I went to look at curtains and they have some beautiful options. And I absolutely love their Christmas decor.

They have a good selection of several different items. Sale items are reasonably priced. Customer service is usually pretty good too.

Crowded but cool got a 50% off coupon that they let me use on some exchanges I was making! Got a flake at first but then got an experienced lady and things went smoothly after that.

I went to JCPenneys its been years since Ive been there I was looking I asked for help the cashier barely wanted to answer my she even saw me struggling to open the as I was trying to get myself in with the Walker not even a welcome to JCPenneys or I asked can you please tell me where I can find these then I asked when I found if these t-shirts were the ones online it said in store on the add on my phone I showed it to her seemed not to want to help me so I left I will never go back to JCPenneys went to Dillards instead

Under rated. Business is a market that services everyday provides a service that real people want. Middle class people can spend the money. People that like nice things tend to second guess weather to go or stop in the store. Though time I realize that J.C. Penney was a place to always put on the list. But, the name of the store really does not do much for me and its not the first store name I ever call out when talking to others. Its been a historical icon as fare as stores in time but I can speculate that just like SEARS, in time a new generation of consumers will either find value in the business of the company or see it as a out of date grandparents store of the time. Still dont like the name but Love the store.

Looks like a ghost town...sad

On March 22, 2019 We were in the store in Amarillo, Texas shopping when tornado sirens were activated due to bad weather. Immediately the staff at this store came across the intercom and told all customers to go to fitting rooms. As we were held in there close to 1 hour they continuously checked on everyone to make sure we were all ok. I would like to Thank each and everyone of them for their concern and wonderful attitudes in handling what could have been a bad situation.

I hope Pennys hangs in there. With rewards we save so much money. Really.

Dont like the how the checkput process is, only a couple of registers to pay at a few places on the floor. I was on line for ten minutes. Waiting for just one customer to check out

Stood in line for an hour to get into the black friday sale in Hopes of a good coupon this year and was the 12th person in line. Well right before time for doors to open and the coupons were already being handed out from the back of the line to the front! Beyond unfair for all who took the time to wait and hadnt just shown up!! Person handing them out was beyond rude!! Im very disappointed as I knew this was not how it should be so it will be a long time til I return to jcpenney, if I even return at all!

Messiest store Ive ever been into. Even Ross is more organized. This store has gone completely down hill. I cant even justify braving the chaos of the store due to a good value because the pricing is ridiculous for the quality of merchandise. Even the customer service is practically non existent.
