Very friendly staff ! The cashier was funny and sweet. The young guy that was cleaning the place was sweet as well. And well mannered. Good truck stop that has a good sit-down restaurant they are hard to come by now days in the trucking industry most only have fast food counters. Have a well placed old rip griffin style with a small store and cafeteria style food counter with home cooking in the fuel island building, have a truckers chapel trailer and a gazebo with sit-down table under it to use. Have a large tv room and good showers. hair salon and shoe shine shop and a cell phone center. A very large truck parking lot with reserved and handicap parking.

Visited here 8-14-21, shower was amazing but small. Porters really did a good job cleaning. This location had no diesel and the cashier was sort of rude, shaking his head at me in disgust because I couldnt find the gallons of water. Overall it was a decent visit.

Best Petro hands down. Have eaten at many Iron Skillets. Only a few were mediocre. Some I will not go back to. This one will be a definite favorite. A bonus is the hair salon. Diana is AMAZING !!!!!

Worst waitress ever, she was an older lady n lazy! My drink went empty 3xs she was busy talking to another waitress the entire time, so it was hard for her to do her job correctly! When she finally was walking out to bring my food, she stopped again holding my food to talk to the same waitress again! Then I ordered dessert n she didnt even bring me the right thing! I dont know if they are just desperate for waitresses or what. But the cook did a great job the food was really good! Too bad his waitresses make the place get a bad review!

The service attitude is very poor. I gave you 4 hours to repair the car, but the repair was not completed in the end. Why didn’t you call the driver to inform the driver. It was very unprofessional and charged a fee of $151. This is unreasonable. It was a waste of my time and money. It’s a terrible place.

It’s hot inside. I showered there and was sweating more when I got out than when I got in. It was a wasted effort. Does the place not have air conditioning? Management too cheap to turn it down cold enough to be comfortable? This place is a dump and ran on a shoestring budget. They are not customer service oriented from the management level.

One of the worst Petros Ive ever been at in my life parking lot was completely terrible Park potholes in it that could swallow up a Volkswagen Rough Dirty Never stay there again

They have a very wide variety of amenities for truckers. I was able to wash our laundry there. They have a TV Room, Game Room, Laundry Room, Dunkin, Iron Skillet, Massage Chairs, Lounge, Chapel and more. I do wish the restrooms were cleaner though.

The night crew is on top of things at this petro..Cant say anything about the day crew cause I only came in at night but Kelsey has a OCD style cleanliness attitude and gets right down to the little details alot of folks miss or dont bother to care about. I just happen to walk in as she was basically steam cleaning the hell out of this. Notice the mixing cups just above the dispensing nozzle. Alot of time you see these with powder caked in them.. Now you begin looking down the counter top and notice everything has been polished clean... Thank you Kelsey

The lady working the overnight shift at the petro station (the trucker place next to the iron skillet) was insanely helpful and extremely nice. She definitely deserves a raise and Im super appeertive of her.

This place is a joke. The parking lot has more holes then you could imagine. The restaurant totally socks. Waited 45 minutes for my food. Way over-priced. Petro you should be ashamed of your service.

These guys are not smart. They can change tires. Dont let them work on your truck.right fuel tank went empty left tank still full....they tell me its the warm weather. Brainiacs

The shoe shine shop here is incredible. The lady here will shine and bring back to life any leather you have. Worth the money spent! These boots didnt have any color and had some leather pealing up on the toes.

Got the pork chop plate my first and last time eating there.if I could imagine for a second what dog food tasted like than that was it.didnt go back to ask for anything else i may have gotten a plate of cat food that time.👎Ill give two stars cause I needed fuel and they werent out of it.

As a Petro its good BUT will not return because of parking lot if you dont break something its a miracle

Bad morning started with hub leak petro got us back on the road quick Jennifer check me in while we were minutes away very helpfull got there checked in with her park by bay area told her we were headed for lunch 2:30pm she tried calling me no luck mechanic fixed it were we were parked by the time we got back to truck about 45 mnts it was fixed great job really appreciate it back on the road to deliver.

Great decision to close the restaurant at night! And not open til 7am.There are still a lot of us that are up early and like to have breakfast before we hit the road.

Parking lot full of holes, but plenty of parking pretty much all night. The thing that bugs me is they def use a cell phone blocker to nickel n dime drivers via extra services. Coming in the signal is great and as soon as you leave out youll get it back. Should be illegal. Food is ok.

Waitress on april 29th about 5:00 were horrible.we ordered the 12.99 steer steak got charged for the 14.99 one.charged us for 2 coffes we only got oneRipped us off about 10.oo.told us they would make it good next time.we wont be going back ever

I was there 2/22/21, to find a homeless woman doing no harm just getting warm. I gave this lady $20 to get food or whatever ( she didnt ask me for anything).The manager then called cops after seeing this.... Never asked woman to leave prior to me giving her money.Also manager of the restaurant started yelling at homeless woman for NO reason.i will never go here again and will let fellow truckers know abouthis. Way to kick someone while they are down Petro....sad sad sad this was witnessed by several other truckers who also told manager off

This is about the truck shop at the Amarillo Petro. Got checked in had to wait a little bit as the Mechanic that was experienced in the electrical issue I was having was on a road call. Once James got back and I got in the shop. He was able to Diagnose my problem quickly got it fixed and had me rolling out in about 30 mins. Great service. I appreciate the quick turn around.

Nasty. Broke down pumps. Horrible parking lot rude staff. Old. By far the wroat Petro in the usa. Not saying much most petros and ta are horrible.

Once Again... diner closed when I get here, no longer 24 hours in a 24 hour industry, could at least stay open tell midnight. Well Petro/TA, Ive officially lost confidence in youre stops, you may think closing the dinners is saving you operating costs but its going to cost you a once loyal customer, If there is no food available then I will no longer be spending on average of $700 a week in deisel at youre locations.

When into the restroom and three out of the four stalls were out of order. The one that wasn’t was very nasty and soiled. I ended up getting a shower and just using the restroom there. Not happy. Need better service for their customers.

Went in the fuel lane to get something to eat, the lady working the grill area (ruby) was rude and was not helpful at all, plus there was nothing in the food box. Not happy with them at all!!!

I wasnt going to leave a review because I dont really frequent this place often enough to form an opinion but its been eating at me the situation from yesterday. I like to stop in every couple weeks for a haircut because a good barber is hard to find and the lady here does it great without me having to explain what I want plus the wife likes the way she did it. Friday morning I got here around 9 so I went to have breakfast at the Iron skillet and was greeted as always by great hosts there and was pleased that the price has become more competitive. A little after 10 I went in the barber shop and there was a different lady finishing her hair and makeup in the mirror apologizing she was rushed to come in because someone was fired for stealing money, then tells me shes greatful I showed up because she was contemplating closing the place to go shopping although it was business hours and its not good business to be closed when you say youre open. The whole time shes cutting my hair shes trashing the nice lady I originally came to see calling her all kinds of horrible rude things. At the end she says she cant tell how I like it parted and I had to explain it to her that it now cant be parted because she cut it way too short and the druggy looking jerk says maybe its because her fingers arent as fat as the other ladys 🤬. Then after calling that other nice lady a thief she proceeds to charge me more than the supposed thief did. I wish I knew what place the normal lady went to work because I darn sure wont get my hair cut by this place again. But will be coming for breakfast more often again.

I gotta say customer service hands down the best out in TXTruck had issues but seemed more electrical than what petro could handle throughout the whole process they stood very supportive and professionalWill def be calling here or having my drivers stop by if they ever needed any work

Service center is great, other than a select few. The guy working counter around 9PM has a deep voice was very rude and kept running his mouth behind the wall like I couldn’t hear him. I would just like to bring this to your attention. Thank you!Mike.

Ok so of you order lunch it will not come with fries??? If you want them that is your free side?? I waited 15min to order...the LEFT AFTER 40MIN WAIT FOR A CHICKEN SANDWICH....THAT I NEVER GOT....................It seems that petro and ta are getting more expensive and will give you less.Also washing machines are dirty.i had to clean it before I could do laundry. Watch for potholes in the truck parking lot.they will swallow your truck

Gigantic parking lot for starters. They still have a restaurant. The fuel island has a pretty impressive menu for food on the go, along with a decent breakfast plate.

Stopped to get fuel on Oct 28th. Got 7 miles down the road and fuel error code comes up. 157 fm18. I have a cummins 450. Took 22 hours to get towed to cummins. They finally were able to look at it on Nov 2nd. Diagnosis bad fuel. And to drain 150 gallons. 4 fuel filters later. About to head out. I will never buy fuel at this location again. Be careful, they sell bad fuel.

This place is awesome! If youre on the road and you need it they got it. I travel across the country often to see family and stop here a lot. I can use a clean restroom, get something to eat, sit down and relax & occasionally have a good conversation with a complete stranger. Its a good place to stop for sure, Ill be back through in a few weeks.

4 Stars for the fuel island, store and restaurant... especially Ashley...best waitress ... Shop doesnt get a star as nobody there to help me.. waited 5 mins at counter...dude from shop didnt acknowledge me other dude in office with door open where I walked by twice didnt seem to want to help... luckily I was helped at the fuel island and store with what I needed... 4 Stars for everything except shop 🤬

Pave your truck parking lot!

I spend a lot of time here. Not a bad truck stop, but parking can be a problem some nights. Guess thats like most places these days. They do have a security patrol in the lot. I often eat at the iron skillet here. Depending on what time you arrive the buffets usually pretty good. they have a promotion you can sign up for two by six meals get the last one free. Only problem I really have well then. Is they were supposed to cop me a meal for my last meal on the program. They charge me for it anyway. And refused to make it right. They say it doesnt show up in the register I showed him the transaction on my bank account. And they still wont make a right. Id advise not using a credit card here. Pay cash only. Somebody that works in a restaurant knows a way to steal from your account and not show up on the register. And the management does not want to address this issue.

This is Iron Skillet Restaurant which is inside the Petro Shopping Center. Essentially, this is a restaurant inside a trucker stop and gas station. Food was good and reasonably priced. Pork chop was good but somewhat small.. However, the overall breakfast was very good sized, and I left very full.

Best Petro truck stop ever. The shop is knowledgeable on fixing trucks. The staffs by the early morning shift on 03/03 was doing an excellent job, Isaiah and front desk clerk were very helpful and courtesy to customers. I definitely happy with the service and recommend you try this shop instead of slowly Loves or TA in town!!?

This is a good Petro. In addition to the breakfast buffet at the Iron Skillet, they have a Dunkin Donuts. They also have a pretty big lot and all of the driver amenities are good. The fuel island C-store has all the breakfast items plus some very nice pork chops.

Absolutely DISGUSTING breakfast here. They serve inedible food here that was obviously from days ago. Biscuits hard as a brick. Hash browns old and definitely not fresh nor made day of. Just warning to any other drivers who may think of grabbing food out of here. Save your hard earned money and spend it somewhere else. I wish, I did.

Its a nice place to stop. Lots of parking and the showers are always neat and clean with great water pressure. I stop whenever Im passing through Amarillo.

I left by ambulance on Friday night & just got back Sunday. The guys inside were more than supportive & let my husband drop where he was. The lot was full or he wouldve moved it to the back.One day in ICU & the rest in a regular room & finally discharged. We hooked up grateful everybody understood & didnt create more grief for us. This doesnt happen everywhere. Thank you guys.

I used to always stop here back in the day. Probably about 12 years ago. Back then you would have to park your truck up front or be solicited by hookers all night.

Pull in at 21:00. Dining room closed, dried out pork chops and burned sausage in the outlying building. Thanks for nothing Petro. Update: 6/12/20, 10 am in the outbuilding, again dead weight cooking was too busy burning food to actually make me some breakfast. Had a lame excuse about someone not showing up to make it, well what are you doing? This Petro hires the most worthless people.

Its Thursday night and Im waiting for service. Theres 3 people standing behind the counter and only one technician in the shop working. Too many Indian chiefs and not enough Indians. Four bays are empty and they sit behind the counter playing with their phones. It must be nice to do absolutely nothing and still get paid I had no idea that getting a technician that wants to work was so hard

Worst service at a truck stop thus far. Place is clean, parking lot full. Ive heard good things about the iron skillet, not impressed here!. Wait staff were rude and unprofessional. Even the store clerk had the attitude like he hated even being there. Food was half good half worse. Hot cakes looked like burnt bread. Hash browns look recycled. The eggs and ham are the only thing I ate. Dont think Ill be back here. Too many truck stops in Amarillo to have to settle for service like that.

I sat at the counter for 10 minutes before I was noticed the waitress ask if I had been waited on my reply was not yet she ask what I wanted to drink my reply was sweet iced tea she brought the tea and a menu. Few seconds she returned, I ordered a shrimp basket and ask if salad was included, yes was the answer. I got my salad I was beginning to eat it she returned ask me if she had taken my order. I got angry said if you cant get an order right I should get up and leave, then she accused me of being rude, i left a twenty on the counter told her it was there and left.

I will never stop in this Petro again! We stopped and got the soup and salad and took two meals to go. Well when we ate our meals they had a gritty substance in them. It felt like sand but didnt have the salty taste. I called the manager and explained my situation. He offered a free meal. We ate the buffet so we could avoid the gritty substance. The woman manager on duty at that time didnt even come and talk to us and then began going around to the staff pointing us out and stating to them it was impossible. I would assume this to mean that she was telling everyone we were liars and wanted a free meal. Well that’s ludicrous! I have plenty I don’t need a free meal nor do I need to make up things to get free meals. It was very unprofessional and rude! I will never go here again and I plan to let all my fellow drivers know to not eat here as well!

Good stop for gas. The Dunkin is okay, but its not a normal one. They wont take the app, and have higher priced than the others in town

Manger was great. ( Michael ) Explain where we could park 5th wheel, and have our side out. Gas was fair price for diesel.Only eat here if you want weak coffee and slow service. Food was good.

Nice clean tuck stop. I had a flat tire. And asked there shop for some air they refused to air up the tire a or let me airvit up. So I had to go somewhere else carrying a flat. In a disabled veteran.and can barely walk. So that was nice of them to to treat a old man like that.ill never go back there

If you like daily traditional buffet with a great soup salad bar or ordering food from a classic menu Iron Skillet cant be beat for the price.Waitresses are attentive and caring.I always stop here coming or going.

A great ne w facility. I was in and out really fast. They had all checkouts manned and I paid for my gas and was on my way in minutes.

My husband and I went here to get food. We were delighted to find that they put out the breakfast buffet around midnight! This may be a Sunday morning thing, now that I think about it, but we will be back. Everyone was super helpful. From the fuel desk to the personnel at the store. And, they gave us each a new kind of Snickers bar to try.

Didn’t have a wait for shower both times but bench to set your stuff down is in the shower no where to really move it so it won’t get wet showers deff need to be brought up to date. Good coffee tho so there’s that

I stopped for fuel only. Didnt have to wait in line for a pump. Everything outside was clean. It was raining lightly and some wind plus about 55°. Nice to find clean gas stations.

Dont no what the heck is going on at Petro with their buffet. Stopped at 2 different Petro Travel Centers one in Illinois and this one in Amarillo TX and both times the offerings were disappointing the basic soups at both places were not good no flavor at all just bland as can be. Amarillo cut their spaghetti on the buffet with scissors which really upset some drivers I mean who cuts up spaghetti into small pieces. Guess the safest bet is to stick to the menu. For the money Petro charges for their buffet they should care more about the product theyre putting out in the buffet at least in these 2 Petros.

For a truck stop the food was actually pretty good, the shower was clean and everyone was friendly and helpful. Hmmm what is going on here. The only thing I would have changed is the music was kinda loud, hell I have been in discos that wasnt that loud ops did I just date myself.

Good food,pork shops,sausages,chicken and more. Cooked there at the truck diesel store island.

Most Horrible customer service ever!!! Wont give exchanges to professional drivers. She Forgot to scan my card and then refused to scan it when I know thay can go back and do so, it happens often! Never a problem before. I had a $200 purchase that I wont earn point on now. Oh, be careful they will charge double! I caught on and was argued with that the amount was correct when indeed it was $100 over! Funny when she printed the receipt she manually entered 8 when I had only 4! Never again! Im sticking with Loves.... They are new and CLEAN! VERY FRIENDLY & PROFESSIONAL

All the dirt and grime on the keypad on the fuel pumps makes you wonder how well the restrooms and showers are cleaned

Did Laundry here, pleasant employees, Buffet was different, but very tasty -everything was cooked perfectly, and was fresh. Waitresses attentive, everything was clean.. tv room,game room, salon,lots of showers~all good.. On site store manager was very helpful to find what we needed..

My husband and I was here and we stayed for thirty four hours. The store and Iron Skillet were clean. They offer continous movies for drivers. There is also a Truckers Chapel. We love this location.

Excellent restraunt and buffet with plenty of shopping and other fast food options available. Other truck stops and fast food options available nearby.

The shop is woefully untrained. The mechanic couldnt use a voltmeter properly, if he could he would have spotted the problem was with my trailer not my truck when I had no trailer lights. That the truck WAS putting power to the pig tail. It took another shop 5 minutes to diagnose and fix what they tried for a hour to misdiagnose and quit. Then say the truck had to go the dealership .

Awesome customer service, Dunkin donuts is right there too, so thats a plus. Great service and fun atmosphere in Dunkin. Would definitely recommend!!!

Clean restrooms but despite a sign saying masks required for entry over half the customers were not wearing masks.

Clean bathroom, friendly older guy in the store. Lots of parking. Dog pen on site. All the dust & wind you can handle outdoors, free of charge of course. After reading the reviews I know not to expect much from the restaurant, if we there at all.
