A little over two years ago I purchased a push trimmer mower from Amarillo Outdoor Power Equipment. Now it wont start so I took it to them to see if they could fix it. The employee behind the counter was very rude. He explained that the cost to fix it would be over $ 250 on a machine that cost just over $ 300. Then he told me I did not purchase the trimmer mower from them because they do not carry that brand. I told him I KNEW I purchased it from them and he again said he didnt think so. So I showed him the sticker that was on the trimmer mower that clearly said Amarillo Outdoor Power Equipment. Then he looked it up on their computer and stated it must have been before his time. Rude.I had also purchased a echo chain saw from them. Every time they replace the chain it does not work well and I have had to take it back. I recently took it to another repair shop to replace the chain with an original Echo chain and it works GREAT and cost much less.I will not be purchasing equipment from them in the future. Better off buying disposable equipment from Walmart. I will get the same quality of service and will pay less. I bought from Amarillo Outdoor Power Equipment thinking the equipment and service would be better. I was wrong.

New to Amarillo and no longer need the zero turn that has been in storage and wont start this season. This place seemed to have good reviews, and except for the few nasty responses back on low reviews, seemed like just the place. Wanted to get rid of the mower and maybe get some store credit to buy new stuff. The guy who answered the phone was very helpful and nice. Gave wonderful information and answered all questions. He was just as awesome in person. Unfortunately he was not the only person I ended up dealing with. The main head guy (manager or owner?) seemed ok at first, but very quickly turned into a stereotypical used car swindler. Wanted me to pay him $60 (mower pick up) + $110 (diagnostic, no service) + $200-$300 (carburetor repair based on symptoms) to allow me to trade in a mower which has a resale value of $1000 - $1200 in order to receive No more than $300 in trade in credit. His numbers, not mine. A zero turn mower plus $370 minimum out of my pocket to buy $300 of his stuff. I pointed out it was better to pay $300 cash and kick the mower to the curb. We left.Due to the first guy being so awesome, I am willing to walk in this place again and maybe buy something I need or cannot get anywhere else locally. But its going to be hard to look past the You dont understand so let me explain it to you... attitude that I got, saw others get while I was there, and am likely to receive for this review.

Just took my edger in to be looked at. They dont service the brand I have but Mark agreed to look at it for me. Turns out it was just flooded, lol. Didnt charge me a penny.Very nice place with a good atmosphere. Ill definitely go back when my current edger kicks the bucket.

If you want to get the shaft take your mower in to get it worked on. Took my Scagg turf tiger in To repair the clutch that drives the blades. Told me the clutch was bad and it needed to be serviced. In my mind I’m thinking servicing everything from the clutch down to the mower deck. They put a new battery on, a new air filter(the one I had might have had 40 hours on it) and changed the oil. All I ask them to do was fix the clutch. The comment was “well we got you ready for the season”. Honestly had there been a YouTube video I never would’ve taken it in.

Gentleman trying to help us was really nice. We have no experience buying lawn mowing equipment and he was patient. The lady that stepped in and very rudely told us they were getting busy and we needed to bring in information or they were not helping us ruined the whole experience for us. We will not be back. Proffitts was amazing and we were in and out in less than 30 minutes with everything we needed.

The concept of shopping locally and skipping the big box chains is making a come back. Its companies like this one that make that concept worth while. I purchased a $500 weed eater combo from here and feel that I was treated with the same respect and attention that someone purchasing a $5k toy would have been. Thanks.

Purchased a used Walker and they gave me 6 months warranty. Were quick to fix an issue under warranty and several service appointments were handled in 2-3 days.

I purchased my first Zero turn Mower from here and consistently had issues with it. It was in most of the time I had the mower. I finally got tired of dealing with this thinking maybe it’s was the brand (SCAG) so I trade it in for a Johns Reed. Shortly after using the riding mower, the belt came loose and a chunk was taken out of the belt. I was able to get the belt back on but it kept coming off. I had to not have the parking brake on any longer then to start the mower or it would come loose again. I finally had enough and took it in. They were able to “fix” the issue after a while of hassling with them. The labor was covered by the warranty but the belt was not, which I felt should be because I fell like they do not check there mowers before they sell them, like they just get them in and send them out or if they do service them then they do a poor job. My rear end has now gone out on this mower after not even had used it for 50 hrs and the rear end is currently unavailable. I will now have to go purchase a new mower. I will not be using this company again as from my experience the product they sell and or labor on there products are very poor, along with a few of the employee/owners attitudes

I recently had to upgrade to a larger zero turn motor since I am mowing well over an acre. I am one who does a lot of research before I spend money, and shop around while asking a lot of questions. They answered all of my questions and addressed concerns before I purchased. I came in and paid for a new Gravely 52 with a Kawasaki Motor at lunch, and they were delivering it out to my house that afternoon by 4:00PM. Over the years, I shop around, but I always find myself coming back to Amarillo Outdoor Power Equipment for all of my needs. The STIHL trimmer I bought with their recommendations is still going strong, and I purchased it 6-7 years ago. I bought a STIHL blower last year, that has easy start, and its the best blower Ive owned. Good quality equipment, and great customer service that cant be beat.
