Absolutely amazing staff and super helpful. Our switch to T-Mobile took almost 4 hours to complete. Jaydon, who was very sweet and thorough, walked us through it patiently. He explained everything that he was doing and what was required of us. He also explained everything that was going wrong throughout the process. He never got frustrated or irritated. I even asked if he would like to take care of another customer and we would wait but they were setting up a new line also and he said he would finish up with us first. Jaydon was knowledgeable, personable, and just all around awesome. None of us expected it to take that long but we enjoyed every single second of it. The other Rep, Jon, even had us in there cracking up and being extremely helpful. I hope these two stay around because this is the best and only great experience we have ever had at this location 😊

I had an excellent experience here transferring my phone service led by Terrell. Walked in and was greeted by Terrell and he treated me like I was the only one in the store for the next 2 hours! Highly recommend working with Terrell. Now hopefully the Sprint network works as effectively as service with Terrell does!

Called to see if they had a phone I wanted in stock and all the employee would say was “we have them available.” I asked again if they had them there and he wouldn’t answer my question. We live over an hour away from this store and every other Sprint store I called was more than happy to tell me what they had available. I told this employee that I’m not going to make an hour drive to find out they don’t have it and he responds with, “then take your business elsewhere.”

Zero stars actually. The Ames, Iowa store has the rudest, most unprofessional employees Ive ever met. When we set up service they set up our account and never gave us the account information. Had a problem with our bill and called. They told us we had to drive to the store since we didnt have the account information. We dove 40 minutes to their store and then said I couldnt access the account bcuz its in my husbands name. So my husband called to give us permission and they wouldnt allow it bcuz now they need his photo ID. Never specified that on our phone call, KNOWING we had to drive 40 minutes there. My husband got upset and they HUNG UP on him! We left the store, STILL unable to get into our account! Zero customer service, rude, uninformed employees

Ive been with sprint for 10 years now, and while Ive had my ups and downs, I have to admit were getting a really good deal with them. I recently switched phones and while trying to activate my new one I ran into issues that the tech support couldnt fix. They told me to go to a store. I went here and was helped by Terrell G. and he blasted through the fix in no time flat. He was very knowledgeable. Knew exactly what the issue was and how to fix it, I was in and out in 10 minutes. It was a great experience.

This store has a new manager, Casey S. and he is awesome! Extremely knowledgeable about all services, companies and phones. He listens to what you need and then comes up with the best plan for YOU. He doesnt try to sell you the latest deal. I sincerely appreciated his honesty and integrity.

*Update: Just wanted to point out the lack of sincerity that the canned responses convey from the Owner. If they had taken the time to actually read the review, they would have determined that store management had already been contacted and were part of the issue. The response does not show a willingness on the part of the business to satisfy the customer, but only to get a good review.Very disappointed with the selling tactics and follow through with the store personnel and with Sprint as a company!!I switched from a different carrier and in the process of doing so, was told by the sales staff( assistant store manager included) about all of the additional great discounts that I would be eligible for. I would qualify for an alumni discount (18%)and, if I wanted to upgrade 2 of my lines, I would also qualify for Wal-Greens perks. They were even helpful enough to sign me up for the perks at the store.I get my first bill and my discount has not been applied. I contacted Sprint and was assured that it would be on the next bill along with any credits that I should have received from the first bill.Next month, the discount has still not been applied and now I am being told from Sprint CS that I am only eligible to receive the Perks(Wal-Greens) and that the monthly discounts are no longer available and there is nothing that can be done. Mind you, I am now past the point where I can leave Sprint without paying for everything outrightAfter many HOURS on the phone with Sprint and the store, and numerous email exchanges, I was told (by the assistant store manager) that they would give me a $30 credit per line (I have 4), but they only gave me credit on 2 lines. Rather than calling me back, the store manager sent me an email saying that was all they were able to do. I replied with the email showing where I was told that each line would receive the credit, but that was several days ago and I have still not heard back.Bottom line is that if you are o.k. with being mislead and lied to, this is the company and store for you. You will not find more dishonest and unhelpful people anywhere! If that is not something you desire from a company that you shell over hundreds of dollars a month to, I would suggest literally any other carrier and store to do business with.

This store is outstanding in information, help, and sales. I did not get help in Ankeny. I needed several time consuming changes, a new phone, phone repair, and more info. Terrell and John have walked me through solutions numerous times. I drove back to Ames due to negative comments when ask for help in connecting to Asurion while in Ankeny. In turn we have ended up with new phones and simple solutions. Thanks Ames Sprint!!!

Forcing people to get insurance on their new phone is not good business. The actual Sprint doesn’t force it on people just this independently owned store. I called sprint customer service and made a complaint that they will look in to it. Not holding my breath they will stop this bad business. Definitely not going back there anymore.

Jonathan and Terell are hands down the best at customer service!! These two are the reason we come to the Ames Sprint store as we live 40 min away. They always take care of us and always leave us feeling Sprint is the only place to get your phone and accessories !!!! Respect 👊

The store has a new manager named Lucky who is way more knowlegable than the last. They have a whole new staff who are learning and are trying their best to learn fast to better help their customers. They can not fix phones at this location but can file insurance claims or upgrade you if your eligible.

Unlimited everything may be great... but when I have no service everywhere I go, its hard to brag to everyone about my limitless data. When I asked a salesperson about this small issue, they responded, Sprint is aware of their customers having no service anywhere, but they will get working on a fix in 2017 when technology like this is fathomable with such great coverage. Until then youll just have to keep bragging about your unlimited data plans to your friends

Im about done with Sprint in general. Tried switching my phone number from Verizon and ordered my new phone from Sprint over the phone. Got it a day later. Woot. Except the phone number wasnt transferred over, so I have no cell service. Spent 2 hours on the phone trying to fix it and being transferred from person to person only to be told I should go into a store to get it fixed. Fine. I get to this lovely store and the guy there told me that since I ordered it over the phone, they cant help me since theyre theyre third party.How is it this difficult to switch phone carriers?! Im trying to give your company money over another. Why are you making it so freaking difficult?!

I give this store zero stars. The service is awful. Even though I pay a sizable bill each month, when I walk in to purchase an upgrade, I am not allowed to do so without having my husband with me. They asked me for the password, which I gave to them. I offered to give them picture I.D. I told them to call my husband on the phone number they have on the account. No. I was alternatively treated like a criminal and a small child who could not do anything without an appropriate adult accompanying me. I am 54 years old! Asking my husband about his experience getting an upgrade a couple of months ago, he said that he walked in, was asked no questions and got his new phone. Our account has no authorized person. So, if I was asked for a PIN # or asked a question, he should have been as well. And he was most definitely not told that I had to be there by his side in order for him to get a phone. Although I appreciate the security measures Sprint takes, I think this went beyond that concern. I dont appreciate being treated as though I am not an autonomous human being. This is not the first problem Ive had with service at the Ames Sprint store. Normally, I go to Ankeny which provides much better customer service. (I had to give one star to be able to post.)

I had a very funny experience there! never go to this store again! They did not sell the sprint sim card to me because I wanted to apply for an online plan!! Apparently, they did not like the online plan because they didnt get benefit from that. Just think about it!! They are Sprint store and they told me they do not have sim-card!!!!!I wish they were at least honest and say we dont sell because we cant benefit! (Which is still funny!!) They told me I can drive 30 miles to Davenport and buy a sprint sim card. Very funny and ridiculous. Never go there again.

All these stores do is take your money. Sales and no service. Everytime I have an issue I get sent elsewhere. Ames store even sent me to Ankeny for repair that Ankeny said they cant do. Would only let me replace at additional cost even with insurance.Come to find out now that when I go into the store and ask to pay my full balance current, I am told one amount, pay it, and then later get my services suspended because of a past due balance. This has been going on for months. Made 2 payments in March due to this and still got suspended and charged another reconnect fee of $36 each time this occurs. Apparently stores arent even good enough for making monthly payments. According to corporate I have had a past due balance since Feb INSPITE of going in TWICE in march asking to pay full balance.I am about ready to take them to court for all the late/disconnect fees and switch my services elsewhere!! DO NOT TRUST SPRINT, they are manipulative and negligent at best!!

Went in on 6/6/2017 at 7:15pm the store closes at 8pm. We were told they could not help us and that the store opens up at 10am the next morning. I work full time. That does nothing. There was only one person in front of us. I wish I could give zero stars bc there was zero help. If you cant help two people in 45 mins how do you have a job?! Whats worse is how apathetic and disinterested the staff was. I would keep going but Im going to put in the same effort their staff did.. none...

Refused to sell me a flip phone. Absolutely refused. Guy kept trying to sell me a Galaxy S6, and absolutely wouldnt listen to anything I had to say. Rude, useless and flat out horrible. He told me I wasnt able to purchase flip phones from sprint dot com either, but I just ordered one, so add LIAR to the list.
