Cant wait to go back! Google brought us there searching for gelato on the way home and it is a stellar find. The atmosphere is incredible (charming, vintage decor and wooden floors), treats delightful, and customer service second to none. Owner was walking around conversing with patrons. You may need to pay for parking. Can walk around main street to see art everywhere. Fantastic stop!

Best coffee shop/ chocolaterie in town. I like the atmosphere, the antique, the coffee, the gelato, and the positive vibes. Their service and hospitality amazing. The manager himself will welcome you by the door and ask you about your experience! Definitely will go back.

Very friendly, and helpful staff, many varieties of chocolate, coffee, tea, ice cream, and wine. You should try their coconut latte. They have some people playing piano as well from time to time. A tips for you guys, there are public parking areas right behind the main street; a good option for free parking.

If you want to step into a cute little piece of Europe then come Chocolaterie Stam. They have amazing quality chocolates of various kinds. Its a cute date place for you and your significant other. They also sell coffee and hot chocolate which is amazing when you want to escape the cold.

One of my favorite places in Ames. I can go by myself and enjoy some coffee and chocolate, or go with the kids for some gelato. Lovely place that reminds me of chocolatiers in Europe. I just found out they also ship, so I was able to ship a lovely box of chocolates to my mother for Mothers day in a beautiful keepsake box. I also requested that we just buy a box of chocolates (instead of a cake) for my own birthday and it was fantastic (as always). I think I will make it a new birthday tradition.

First time in their Ames store. Went many times to D M store. Visiting a friend from Ames and went for lattes and candy. Went back later in afternoon for gelato and lattas. Excellent service, comfortable, homey seating with wonderful candy and coffee and much later gelato. Perfect day!!

Im from Nevada/Utah, and we took a trip to Ames a few years back for a school competition - honestly, this place is the only thing any of us remember about the trip. So good! Definitely worth checking out, I would almost consider coming back to Iowa just for this place.

My 5 years and still counting. A perfect 113 year style Chocolate Café with Dutch style architecture. They are so authentic and the staff is super friendly.A must try: Tiramisu and Expresso Gelato.

If you think covid-19 is not a threat, this is the place for you! One of the people behind the counters had an open mesh mask under her nose. At their 6 foot wide ice cream display case, where your can look at the flavors, they encourage multiple parties to come close and choose at the same time! No limit on the number of people!! Lets not forget when they brought someone who was checking out, without a mask right next to people who were trying to pick ice cream flavors with masks, and ahead of other people who had been waiting for a while.You can also choose to sit there and eat, no social distancing required. European snacks with the best american liberties.

This is the best chocolate shop ever. They have so much to offer. First of all, the atmosphere is so relaxing, warm, and inviting. Upon walking in, there is a gorgeous ornate chandelier and beautiful piano music playing (one of the many great things about Ames, the locals are so talented). You are greeted by the kindest wait staff. They are truly happy to serve you! They have delicious gelato, intricate chocolates of the finest detail, and so much more. Truly a sparkling gem in Ames. I love receiving chocolates for Valentine’s Day from here, nothing better!! If you haven’t yet, you NEED to visit Chocolaterie Stam! 🤎

Incredible chocolates and other treats served in a gorgeous store.I love coming to this place, Im from Montana but every time Im in Ames I make it a point to stop and pick up my annual box of chocolates. These are truly some of the best tasting bonbons and truffles I have ever had.In addition, they also serve great specialty coffee drinks and gelato made in a variety of flavors.The interior decor of this store is simply elegant. The cozy and inviting atmosphere make this a favorite spot among the locals to chat over a cup of coffee. Plus the friendly and helpful staff always make you feel welcomed and appreciated.Chocolaterie Stam will always be a favorite of mine!

The coffee is yuck but the chocolates are yum!!

Im not really a chocolate shop person, but I came in here to get a gift for someone and the girl working there was very kind and helpful to me (more like patient).Everything was nicely presented and it seems like the chocolates were a hit, so Im happy. She even included a little pamphlet to show what all varieties they have there (so that my gift recipient would know what they got).

Ugggggh I cant go in this place without buying so much chocolate. I love their chocolate. They have really good coffee as well. When you walk in, you automatically feel good. Sea salt caramels. Best thing ever. Anything they have is good but those are my favorite. The staff is so friendly and the place itself is adorable. Definitely recommend.

This is a fantastic little hole-in-the-wall store. The cream inside the chocolates is so rich and decadent that each treat tastes like heaven every time you reach for another. The ladies working there were polite and helped me get the best bang for my buck. I will definitely be stopping in again soon.

One of the best place in Ames. Really delicious chocolate and cafe is beautiful. When i visited here it was too cold due to AC and it close a little bit early. But the other things are good. I highly recommend here.

Chocolates are amazing, which is to be expected. But they also have a good variety of gelatos that are very delicious as well as amazing coffee! Definitely a great place to go to treat yourself, family, or friends.

Their chocolates are very fancy: a good gift! There is a coffee shop in the business, so you can order espresso and coffee-drinks and enjoy them on their couches or tables. However, there isnt much seating. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the shop. Sometimes they host live music on their baby grand piano.

Very nice place and GENEROUS helpings of gelato. People were very nice. I ordered the caramel apple gelato and was enjoying it but then there was a curious bite to the caramel? Almost as if the caramel was cooked a wee bit too long/scorched and there was a bitter aftertaste. It didnt stop me from eating it all though! 🤷

We took my mom here during her last visit and it was a winner. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable... We got sorbeto and ate it in the shop. Everything was delicious and we left with a few bags and boxes.

This is one of my favorite places in Ames. The chocolate is great, the gelato is great, the hot chocolate I get in the winter is great, the live piano performances are great, the decor is great. I honestly only have good things to say about my numerous experiences here.
