The staff is very friendly. I was honestly surprised that we were allowed to come in and play games for free. Its nice you get to try board games out in a fun setting before choosing to purchase. They also have coffee and other drinks for sale. The only thing this place is lacking is the serving of alcohol. However, obtaining a liquor license is probably easier said than done. The shop is a fun addition to the mall and Ill be bringing a group of friends back soon to play some more board games!
Great place to hang out and try some new board games. Owner is friendly and knowledgeable about a huge variety of games. They have a fantastic coffee and espresso selection. ( Had a great mocha when I was there last)What really sets this place apart is the welcoming open atmosphere to try and learn new games or just play some old ones.
The space was clean and inviting. The selection of games was great and comprehensive. The coffee bar was an awesome addition (and had good local coffee). And, the selection of demo games was huge. Not to mention the staff was very friendly and welcoming and took time to teach us a game to play. All in all, this is an awesome addition to Ames and I will definitely be going again!
Ames finally has a board game cafe - comfy spot with lots of board games to demo. Cafe menu has some creative options, and the latte was great.
