Excellent place to buy newer games. Service is stellar and helped me find exactly what I was looking for, even offering to order games that werent in stock for me.

It is a great place to buy video games accessories and anything from buttons to shirts you name it they have it or they can order it. And whats nice with the ordering is that it can come right to your home or right to the store. They are very knowledged and very understanding place.

This location seems to be well run and itis definitely bigger inside than it looks on the outside.

They need to explain exactly how the warranty you purchase works. After 8 months my Scuff Vantage 2 right joystick started getting a little stuck so I went to get it replaced but they didnt have another one or something equivalent to the Scuff.The store manager gave me the refund in gift cards which i didnt mind at the moment me thinking they would get more controllers within a few months.Went back and they didnt have any, so i decided to get headphones since my sony headphones have been making an echo or a weird loud noise.They have headphones boxes as displays so i grabbed the one I wanted. After waiting in line for almost 30 minutes the lady in the front counter tells me they didnt have none at all. At least place a sign that says we are out. (False advertising).Is not there fault but the companys fault for telling them to display boxes even though thy dont have the product.Came back a few weeks later to see if they had a Nintendo Switch for my girlfriend which they did so I was happy until the lady tells me she couldnt sell it to me. I was like what???They only sell it in a bundle $300+I was like that doesnt make any sense.I got to rhe point that i didnt want to deal with Gamestop anymore.So I came back a few days later and i bought a few games just to get rid of my gift cards.Gamestop was the place to go get games and platforms but after this i will never go back unless they change there policies and the 1800 number is a joke.

First of all their pre order list for next gen consoles were useless. They didnt even call to inform they ran out. Poor management and employees that seem to come and go whenever they want. Decided to go even after all the pre order nonsense and take a look around and they didnt have a single game at all nothing on the walls. They were moving things around which is understandable but I would have known if the bald manager even acknowledged me and my son. Gamestop should think about replacing the entire team.

I know that GameStop gets a lot of hate, but the team that works at this store make it one of my favorite stores ever. Ron and his team are the kindest and honestly try to help the customers, instead of try to squeeze more money out of them. Best GameStop in America in my opinion!

Prices are comparable. Decent deals. GameStop has many exclusive deals and game editions. This specific location has very good customer service. Great staff, very personable. Only negative comment is their trade in prices. While I understand a businesss need to make a profit, the prices that they offer for trade ins can be very poor at best. Otherwise, Great job Amsterdam GameStop

Bought a game card and it wasnt activated 😑😶 not from that area and will have to waiste gas and miles to go back out there.

Courtney (at the Amsterdam store) is great with respect to customer service. She was alone running the store and multitasking for several customers. She gets major kudos for managing everything under pressure. Im not a gamer but was shopping for my fiance and she explained everything in a way that I could understand.

Has very good prices, but Ive never encountered more rude employees. Basically wouldnt leave me alone, even after I told them I was just looking around. And when I asked them a question, they made me feel stupid for daring to ask them anything.

A wide range of games for all your modern servers. They offer new or used games with the option of a warranty. I have purchased used games and have not had any issues with any of them and saved a lot of money even compared to Amazon. They also offer a variety of game/t.v./movie and other memorabilia such as t-shirts, action figures, board/games, etc. Located in a plaza with plenty of parking. They are also able to order games from other stores for later pickup if available.

I consider myself to be an avid gamestop shopper as I have literally visited every single location in the Capital Region and Mohawk Valley.Awful store experience in Amsterdam. I had purchased a game pre owned (touhou genso for PS4) I tried it and didnt like it so I returned it to this gamestop as it was within the 7 day period where you can return for full refund..I went into the store and told the associate what I was doing. He immediately asked for my driver license (I paid cash for the game). Since I was never ever ever asked to present my license I asked why it was happening. The associate said company policy and his supervisor came over and very rudely stated to me we are doing this to protect you. You shouldnt be questioning me. I said to the supervisor that it was an odd request that was never asked of me before so I was wondering.If it was a credit card return I understand but to be that disrespectful and to site a store policy that doesnt exist as I have asked other managers and they said there is no rule..Never going there again. I was lied to and it seemed like to them I was in the wrong. The supervisor could have been more professional about it..

I called Gamestop in Amsterdam NY to put Pokémon heart gold on hold. A guy named Grant answered the phone and told me I was completely able to put it on hold and he asked me for my name and number which I gave him and I even told him what time i would be stopping in to pick it up. Pokémon Heart Gold is a very rare game and the Amsterdam store was the only store somewhat by where I live that carried it. Although it’s still about a hour away from where I live. As i’m half way there I get a call from Gamestop saying they sold the copy of heartgold that was on hold for me!!!!! I could not believe it, what is the point of a item being on hold if they are just gonna sell it anyway? They had no other copy besides the one I put on hold and they sold it. It really disgusts me how awful and inconsiderate the costumer service is. Especially Grant who answered the phone shouldn’t even be working there after this. I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS HAPPEN.

Since my previous review, this GameStop location seems to have improved considerably. They got rid of their horrible employees who ignored customers, and were rude to them when they did interact. They are now more professional, not exactly kind but they are nice enough and are somewhat understanding of what customer service is. I must say this location seems to be filling up with every type of game shelf and display possible, and it makes it difficult to traverse when it has a small line. If your a local, its ok to use this location for your game purchases and trades. Though personally I would tell anyone to just sell their games on their own, as GameStops new trade in policies and prices are painfully unfair.
