I couldnt find what I wanted so I asked at the info desk. The two young ladies there looked it up for me, helped me look for the item, and had to go in the back to find it! I left a very happy customer.

Still love bookstores. This Barnes and Nobles is very busy and well staffed. Good to see a non digital world still going strong. Lots of parents with children of all ages talking excitedly about their choices. Makes me think maybe these institutions of physical knowledge and fantasy might just hold out for a little longer against the raging roar of the beckoning internet.

With hundreds of books from pre-school age to adulthood to choose from and so much music to listen to, Barnes and Nobles is the store to go to. Enjoy benefits through a program you can get signed up online. Very spacious with a coffee shop inside.

Barnes & Noble is the only national chain bookstore in Alaska. This location is small compared to many locations in the lower 48, but it is the best you will find for browsing new books in Anchorage. To browse used books try Title Wave Books.

While ordering online or via an eBook app is extremely convenient, it is nice to spend time thumbing through pages and browsing selections you might not have thought to type into your search engine. I love any bookstore, big or small, and I am never disappointed when I visit Barnes and Noble in midtown. Like many other B&N locations, they have extensive music, children’s, travel and periodicals sections. They also have a cafe and gift/card area as well. It is a great place to bring the kids or to escape when you have some free time. It is also a good place to meet people. Today I had a nice chat with Chuck, a frequent customer and lover of all things muscle car and The Rolling Stones. Having thousands of books in the vicinity gives an easy jumping point to start a conversation with pretty much anyone.

Very nice!... I usually pop in here for rare, hard-to-find videos every once in awhile. 😃

Who doesnt love a book store?! I could have spent hundreds there but you cant eat books. I mean you could eat books but the nutritional quality would be low... so I went to the cafe and had a coffee and treat after I got my books!

I love the large variety of items they provide. Obviously books but also so much more. I am always able to get good assistance when I am unsure of a book or where to find it. I was able to pick a few books out that seemed good for me along with some I plan on gifting. I was really excited for an unexpected find of a game. Clue: Master Detective which is like the original but it has more people, weapons and rooms.

I recently purchased my 4th Nook e-reader. Despite lofty claims about battery life, the battery is good, at best for 4 days. I read a couple hours a day, wi-fi is disabled until I place and order, and the backlight is turned off. My bad. Its time to end my 30 year relationship with B&N and buy Kindle.

Its fantastic! Something interesting on every shelf... Much better than the internet. Actual information and no ads. Definitely check it out.

Nice large store with tons of books as well as a section for music and a childrens section stocked with kids books as well as many super cool unique toys and gifts ect. I prefer the extensive selection of magazines. There is even a Starbucks if your into that:)

Not crowded, helpful staff directed me to the book I was searching for and saved me a lot of time. They graciously accepted a returned book, faulty binding, and made a no hassle exchange on the spot.

Ellen was AMAZING going through recommendations with my dyslexic son to get him started on his fall reading list. Invaluable!

Its always a pleasure to see all the friendly staff. The employees here are exceptional and hard working. Very clean and non biased. I was looking for tarot cards and I was a little nervous about the reaction Id get. Nothing major a few ppl whispering witch. But the staff was restocking that section. Made me think lotsa tarot lovers here.

Decent selection of books, but nothing special. The staff is usually helpful, but sometimes cannot be found easily. My one compliant is that they reorganized their book sections, and certain areas are difficult to find and are organized weird. Some sections are straight up disorganized, which is frustrating. Overall, I think its a good place to buy books, but wish it was a bit easier to find what youre looking for. Maybe even a section map would be helpful.

Great local authors section! We purchased books by some Alaska authors that really enhanced our visit. Friendly staff, nice cafe.

I enjoy going to Barns & Nobles, its quiet, most of the staff there are friendly & know there inventory pretty well. Its clean & overall organized & to top it all off, theres a Starbucks connected to it thats stays open until the book store itself closes at 9:00pm

Although it felt a little weird going into the coffee shop to pick up my order, I was glad that the store was still open. There are books I am interested in but refuse to buy until I see them myself to make sure I am not wasting money. Stop on by, it’s a wonderful atmosphere and with the reduced capacity it’s nice to go in and look for what you need.

B&N is enforcing wearing masks, will not comply and will not spend another dime at that store again.

Love love love finding a corner amd sitting for hours in this store. They carry so muh more than just books. They have games, candy, toys, cds, records, pens, & so much more. I dont see alot of sales but they always have a sale section to check out. They staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I love that they have a starbucks too.... what more could u ask for?Hope this helps. Please like my review it helps me.

I love this book store! I end up spending a couple hours in the store every time I go!

I really enjoy this Barnes and Noble. When we first moved here we didnt know the area but we like books so we looked for a bookstore and found B&N. This place had so many family events that made living in a new place better for us to get adjusted. We even got to meet one of our favorite authors. The staff there has always been nice and helpful.

We had a great time looking at several books and children fun stuff.

I loved the graphic novel section and the manga section its so big their is awesome studio ghibli stuff and im in love the little card that sometimes describes certain books :)

I absolutely love books, so, therefore... I absolutely love bookstores! And I also love that B&N has more than just books, since I love music and classic movies. I got Bullitt my last visit, the best McQueen movie, besides The Great Escape.

Definitely evolves with the times and there is something here for everyone. I bought my gudetama cup here and scored some Christmas items well.

Couldnt find the book I wanted. I went to the customer service desk and asked if they could help. The guy took me straight to the book. Such amazing service!

I went in for information on my Nook (electronic book) & learned to my great surprise that its a 2011 model! (It was just given to me last Christmas, 2020!) I was having trouble getting it to connect to our Wifi; B&N worked on it for several minutes, then brought it back to me with the corporate number written on a stickie note. B&N stands behind its products & does all they can to resolve problems. Their book supply is endless!

Barnes and Noble is one of Alaskas few book stores and unfortunately its a chain. Now something completely unrelated to the actual review is that the original cover art for the Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan is being phased out in lieu of the promotional covers for Amazons unfortunate tv adaptation. A plus for the review, however, is that when I ranted about this to a poor man stocking the romance section he seemed amused and unbothered by my grievances. 4 stars for the shoulder to cry on

I had to ask to find the daily newspapers (which they keep behind the counter -- is that new?), but they had the New York Times I wanted.

Cant find many fully stocked book stores anymore. This one was a pleasure with every kind of book youd ever want.

Barnes & Noble Has completely renovated their store. The floor space is very attractive you can actually see most of the books. The restaurant coffee area is open with tables spaced far apart. Everyone is wearing masks.

I always recommend this place for everything, even your puzzle mind games :)!! They have a lot of cute items that you and your friends will especially love!!

The books are well-organized and its easy to find the titles Im searching for. They have good security. The atmosphere is cozy. The store is clean, even their restrooms are nicer than in most public places. Check out is quick. Employees are helpful. Theyre easy to find, and they have good parking.

Unfortunately Barnes & Noble does not acknowledge the veterans, who have risked their lives to protect our country, and do not provide any discounts of any kind to them!

Enormous store with endless choices but located near a shady part of town. Park your car near a window to the store.

Not busy at all but had to wait forever to check out then the manager came and checked me out thank you. Got a couple last min gifts had a super good deal on toys and had the cartoon DVD set my daughter wanted they dont even have this anywhere else in town including best buy so im very happy

One of our favorite places with a cafe, fireside room, and kids area. Its a great place to find the book you want and just relax. Moms night out, or a family night.

Very helpful staff! My wife and I were looking for a higher end scrabble board and this was the only one we could find in Anchorage. I only went here one time but the friendliness and helpfulness of the one employee was amazing. I wish all customer service people were as good as her. I’d definitely go back again to relax and drink some coffee, or to look for a good book.

We went in to exchange a book that was purchased for my husband at Christmas on my mother in laws B&N account. We didnt have the receipt but the staff were really nice and helpful and were able to find the details on the system easy enough.

Very nice BN. Helpful and nice staff. I purchased my favorite Barney and Sons Hot Cinnamon Spice tea to go along with acinnamon scone. Love them! The cashier was helpful with directing me to Alaska books and authors . Would definitely recommend this BN.

I absolutely love this place! They have all the things you could ever want to read or be creative. Great kids section, even some learning toys! great gift ideas and a wonderful little cafe. Always clean and the staff is extremely friendly :)

Always an enjoyable location to browse and shop. There is an enormous inventory of books, magazines, toys and other related items. The new store layout provides wide spacing in aisles. We always get a coffee, tea or treat while in the Starbucks cafe located within the store, as well.

Very helpful staff and overall a great experience!!!!
