They lock m keys in my truck. Take it in to get the tires changed and they change my oil even though I didnt ask them too. I just got it changed last month by them. They charge me $150 for a diagnostics. And cant find anything wrong. And threw my stock hub caps on my sreel rims. I think at this point there trying to make me trade my truck in.

Apparently the wrong part was ordered for fixing my car, causing an extra 4 week delay for me to get my car back. The representative gave me an attitude when asked for an ETA on when I could be getting the car back. Was told I would be getting a military discount on the parts but the receipt does not reflect that. The representative stated that the price shown is with the 10% discount applied, but when calling to order those parts right now, I am getting the same price cost without asking for the discount. So I was overcharged and was made to wait longer than I was supposed to.

Selecting 1 star because I can’t select lower. Extremely disappointed in how the service department handled my car repair. Took it in to them because I had gone through three alternators and two batteries and the battery light still kept coming on. I told them it had to be a ground issue. In addition, it needed the spark plugs changed which was most likely the cause of the check engine light. They charged me a service call each for the battery and the check engine light. They said they would remove the check engine light charge if it was the result of the spark plugs. I was also told that they needed to do a recall which they said would be free. Then, the issues began. Dropped it off at the appointed time and no one knew it was scheduled. Then got a call telling me they needed to replace the battery. They said I had to buy a new one before they could troubleshoot further. They put a new one in and still had the same problem. They said the battery cables needed changed, but that they don’t do that. They then called later to see if I wanted the spark plug wires changed, but it would be another $400 even though they already had them off in order to change the plugs. I even talked to a different service agent and he said he didn’t know how they came up with that price, but he couldn’t change it since the wires were already put back on. I then took the “bad” battery back to the store for a refund. The store checked it and it was good. Took the battery back to Chevy and they claim it’s bad. Someone is lying and due to all the bad service at Chevy, I’m going with them. So, after $1000 in repair costs, only got the spark plugs changed and the car is at another shop to fix what I had taken it to Chevy to really deal with. Took a look at my charges again and guess what, they charged for the service fee for the check engine even though it was related to the spark plugs and they charged for the recall. I certainly do not recommend them and I’m just glad this was only a $1000 lesson learned versus actually buying a car from them and dealing with a $30,000-$60,000 issue.

Jake and Travis were great. However, the truck I bought was not properly washed or detailed as promised. There literally was still dirt and dust on the outside of the truck after the detailing and washing. Also, the finance guy was nothing short of rude, disrespectful, condescending, and dismissive. When I told him that I did not want his warranty or protection packages, he made statements such as One thing I always ask people like you who do not buy the warranty, is why not? and Well, I bought the windshield protection package and you did not so nyah! just to name a few statements he made in a sarcastic/teasing tone of voice. He tried some high pressure sales tactics that I do not appreciate, nor his child-like tantrum when he did not make the warranty sale. Under no circumstances will I be returning to buy or recommending that anyone buy from this dealership.Edit: This is only the second review that I have written, so I hope this shows how strongly I feel about this.

After experiencing a snag initially, the service manager contacted us to see what could be done to ensure we were happy with the service performed. The service writer helped to ensure parts were in the facility to complete the maintenance and personally checked to ensure the problem was correctly done. The service writer also found an appointment time that fit our schedule.

My vehicle was ready as promised and it was very clean when I picked it up. The price for parts was reasonable and so was the labor cost. I will always use Alaska Sales for my vehicle needs. They all treat you like family.

We attempted to have an unsafe tire evaluated and safe solution found with the service department. Fail! They offered no remedy and we drove out with an unsafe tire and risk of being stranded in Alaska. It felt as if the service department did not care and effectively kicked the can. This is not on par with the standard of service that most GMC dealerships offer. It was as if “you need us more than we need you” and they lacked customer service. Surprising with the premium that they charge at the dealership. Management was difficult to reach and also appeared to nit value US as paying customers. They ultimately shuffled us to a sales manager who did try his best to find a remedy however, he wasn’t there when we brought the truck in so service kicked the can and we left with an unsafe tire hazard in Alaska.

I will not go to this place again for service. They would not provide me transportation after I was told they would before I made the appointment. Dawn who checked me in was offering her personal time and car to help me get back to work while they’re working on my truck. but I had to decline Dawn’s offer since this is her lunch hour. It would have been nice if I was also told the courtesy transportation is not available after 4 pm. They have done this before and this will be the last I’m getting my truck serviced here.

My service advisor Justin Bennett was great! The vehicle was done as soon as possible and he scheduled my follow-up alignment.Two concerns, however. First, a minimum two week wait for service is not acceptable. We bought our vehicle from this dealership because of the service department.Secondly, shortly after I got home, I discovered a large puddle of oil under the vehicle. I took it back right away after talking to Justin and he took it right in when I got back. Since it was closing time, he asked me to leave it overnight, which I agreed. He then offered to get okay for a taxi. Service manger looked at the vehicle on the lift, then turned it back over to Justin. He cleaned up the oil spray, could not determine oil source, and said nothing could be done for at least two weeks (can be dealt with when vehicle goes in for alignment) and to watch leaking until then. The two week wait to even determine the oil source is not acceptable.

He was very patient with me, took time to explain things / answer my questions, and the day I was ready to buy my vehicle he came in on his day off just for me. Jim was also great very fun and uplifting energy from him. The compact SUV I bought is great only problem was some scrachs on it probably from shipping. Travis did take photos of the scratches and said he should be able to get them buffed out for me.

I was going in for a recall repair on my Pontiac vibe (the only good gm vehicle because its really a Toyota) big Toyota airbag recall so I needed it fixed. I had the worst experience of my life. I scheduled an appointment and went to it. Got there and they said we dont have that appointment in our system. I said well I need it done today because Im busy and this is the only day I have. They say theyd get to it and that I could take a shuttle to where I needed to go. I didnt need or have anywhere to go because I had to drive next city over an hour away to get to a dealer that would do it. So I sat and waited 7 hours! I honestly dont think they would have done it if I hadnt sat there all day. After all that they bent the airbag panel on my dash. So incompetent I wouldnt be surprised if all they did was take the panel off bend it and put it back on. This is after I had to call them over 10 times Just to get someone who could make an appointment for me which apparently they didnt even do.Update: called me minutes after posting this and tried to make it up to me. Wouldnt ever bring my car back here.

Very poor service experience. Called in and gave “service advisor” info on my truck and what the issue was. Explained to him I had scanned my truck and it has a bad “def tank heater”. Before calling I did my own research and it looked like GM had a special service bulletin and even though my factory warranty expired GM would cover for 10 years or 120000mi. Well “service advisor” took my VIN. Checked and said I was covered to have repair done under GMC special coverage. Also said he made notes of the snap on code I gave him. I asked since this is warranty type work I ll go ahead and have it taken care of. Now advisor let me know they were backed up. Almost 2 months, but no problem for me, went ahead and booked a service appointment. Fast forward 2 months…. Drop my truck off. Get a call the next day saying it will be 1200$ to have repairs done. I am a VERY confused at this point, I ask why not covered. Current advisor (Justin) explained it had been done before and they can only replace once. ( I am 2nd owner of truck so must have been done under warranty) well at this point I am a bit bummed, but if GM can’t cover I am pretty understanding. I explained to Justin I get it and I am very mechanical and have lots of auto tools. I ll just replace myself. I ask to just pick up the truck. Justin then explains there is a 149$ diag fee due!!! I let him know nothing was diagnosed. I supplied the code and was aware of what was wrong with truck. Justin said nothing he could do, but have to charge me to release vehicle. I went in to pick up truck, asked Justin to talk to a manager about it. He let me speak with one gentleman in the back ( didn’t catch his name) and I explained my case. This gentleman also said nothing he could do. Justin then gave me a little discount. But in the end I had to pay 100$ for nothing. I attempted to call and speak with a manager but it appears they are dodgy my phone calls…..so here I am giving a 1 star review on google with rant to go with it. Alaska Sales and Service you are losing peoples trust in the Auto repair world. And Anchorage and Alaska are a tight community, I ll go ahead and let everyone I know not to use your shop. Sorry not sorry.

Salesman Travis and Finance manager Jeremy were awesome. Travis was very prompt and thorough in answering all my questions I had pertaining to not only the vehicle, but also the drive from Fairbanks to Anchorage. He went above and beyond to facilitate the purchase during these movement restricted times. Jeremy, knowing the purchase was for my wife as a gift, recommended some stores to obtain a bow and offered some ideas on the reveal. Together the team made me feel like a valued customer and not just a number or sales goal. Truly a great car buying experience and definitely worth the six plus hour drive. My service manager did not write down what I told her I though the problem was. So they addressed the recalls and ignored the problem I felt needed to be done. My truck is 2019 and has 22K miles. My problem was wrapped rotors. I was advised that the pads and rotors needed replacing. So I told them to go ahead. $1700 later my truck was ready. The sensor flashed message on dashboard “premature brake wear” which survive manager ignored. There’s more but I am tired.

Very disappointed in the service from this place. Purchased my vehicle here and figure I get my repairs done here. First repair they tried to charge for a diagnostic they ran that I did not ask for. Second time around, I was booked to repair both my rear shocks and my transmission line pipe and cooler hose. I booked this appointment so far in advance just for them to tell me that they couldn’t replace my shocks because they didn’t have the parts for it. Prior to that, my advisor Cody took nearly 2 1/2 weeks to call me with the quote for my shocks! I had to call to speak to three different guys on multiple occasions to narrow down my quote. Cody finally called the day before repairs with the quote just to take it in and not have it replaced. Now I’m sitting with two rear shocks that need repairs and no kind of timeline of when the parts will be received. I dropped my car off in the am and had I not called, they wouldn’t even tell me my vehicle was ready! So disappointed!

My experience with trying to get my truck fixed has been horrible. This was the second trip to Anchorage to get this repair fixed. The first time I made the four hour trip after having scheduled an appointment to have oil cooler line replaced I spent several hours to be told the oil cooler line was in fact leaking and they didn’t have one. So I would have to make a second trip to Anchorage to get it replaced. I told the service writer that since the nearest dealership was 4 hours away bringing my truck In for warranty work was a pretty big inconvenience. I was told that is why you buy a used vehicle.After the part came in, while scheduling my second trip for the same minor issue, I informed the service writer that my truck was having intermittent issues starting. It would click after the ignition was turned, it would do this several times but would eventually start. I videoed this happening. And researched that it appears there is a starter issue with my year Silverado.After bringing my truck in for service I was told the video wasn’t needed. It had to happen in the shop. And after the oiler cooler line was repaired was told the truck started fine. I informed the service writer again that this was an intermittent issue.Since returning home this issue has happened several times. My wife called and the solution was to drive two vehicles up to Anchorage and leave the truck for an undetermined length of time. As we are both employed, this is unacceptable.

I recently purchased a 2014 Chevy Sonic from these people. They said they did a 101 spot inspection to assure everything was fixed. They even replaced the thermostat, at least that’s what I was told. There was also a crack in the windshield that they said they were waiting on parts. 3 weeks have gone by, the salesman (Bryan Scott) refuses to return phone calls about the windshield and now the car is in the garage with an estimate of $800 to fix the engine. I learned my lesson the hard way. If you want a trustworthy vehicle then steer clear of this place. They will rip you off.

Absolutely terrible service up to this point with the service department. I took my GMC Truck in for a service engine light, paid for service which did NOT fix my service engine light problem, the vehicle was returned to me (service ticket still open) with the understanding that the service shop had a service call in and were waiting a response to fix my issue and would call me when they received a response. I have still not received that call, after numerous calls from me to the service man who received my vehicle AND assured me he would call within a few days. Its been close to a month, so no call and no fix action for my check engine light issue.

1st off I made an appointment online and when I showed up they had no record of me making an appointment, even though I had an email confirmation saying that I had one.2nd all I asked for was a oil change, tire balance and a tpm sensor reset. I ended up getting a tire rotation with all my wheels in the wrong configuration even though I specifically asked not to do one (my wheels are proper directional so they belong on a specific side of my truck)3rd after I took my truck back to put the wheels back on the proper side they were supposed to be on I noticed my lug nuts were all scratched up. I asked them what happened to them then and they simply responded that “it happens sometimes” so I told them to fix it. After that whole mess I come back to see what they did to fix their mistake and they colored on my lug nuts with a black sharpie marker.. I was furious and in disbelief that a company would do something like this. (Still have scratched lug nuts with SHARPIE MARKER on them. issue was never resolved)4th I still have a TPM sensor that isn’t reading my tire pressure.Needless to say it was the WORST service I’ve ever experienced and strongly discouraged everyone and anyone to never go to this place.

I have been using this local alaska owned dealership for 20+ years either purchasing my vehicles here or having them serviced in their department. I’ve always found the sales people to go the “extra mile “ to get me great deals and assure I have variety to choose from that would be within my pricing range. From used to brand new vehicle purchases or having my cars or trucks serviced, I’ve always been treated very well and git excellent customer service. I’ve forgot a couple times about appts & annual necessary servicing in which their department has always notified me before that time comes, saving me wear n tear on my vehicle, keeping them running excellent. If I’ve needed work they’re very happy to explain in detail why or what is needed. I’m extremely happy and will continue to return to alaska sales and service for all my vehicles and servicing. I also really appreciate the fact it’s 100% alaska owned dealership. You can call me a very happy customer whom will return and refer my friends and family to check them out for their automobile needs.

I bought a brand new 2019 Chevy colorado and not even one hundred miles in I started to have transmission and torque converter problems. Took it in and they said the factory put in the wrong fluid and then expected me to pay for it, even though Chevy was full aware of the problem and even instructed dealerships to take care of the issue.Then I had my driver seat upholstery split on me a few thousand miles in as well. They tell me I need to take it in to have the seat authorized for warranty repair, 3 separate times and 3 seperate trips for them to tell me the part has been sent back. Each time it has taken them at least 2 weeks to notify that the part was in and another week for them to return my phone calls and voice-mails trying to schedule an appointment. So now I have to wait another month for them to have available appointment. Lets hope they dont send the part back again.If this is how the service is day to day, I wont be purchasing another vehicle from them again.

It took 4 appointments with the dealer to get a defect fixed that came with my brand new vehicle. The dealer would say they would call when part arrived... they did not, if it were not for me following up my vehicle would still be waiting for the service. They scheduled me for a Sat appt and did not inform me there is no shuttle services on Saturdays so I was stuck there without a ride. That Saturday they kept my vehicle half the day only to say sorry we can’t fix it today because now there is a recall... this is something that should have been discovered when I was being checked in for the appt. what a complete waste of my time!! They replaced a headrest that was not broken with the new part creating two problems instead; I then had a broken headrest in one row of seats and an incorrect headrest in the other row of seats which affected its functionality. When I inquired about them putting it in the wrong seat the service person Justin lied to my face saying “when they looked at the seats this one was broken as well” - this is simply not true I have had kids sitting in that seat for months and never had any issue with that headrest. A better person would own up to their mistake, apologize and make it right. I was disgusted with his actions. He did tell me (upon my insistence) that he would order correct headrests for both rows of seats and a trim piece that was also overlooked and did not get ordered when he said he would. When I showed up for my appt. the fourth time Justin had the day off and I worked with a new service manager. I expected things to be smooth sailing from here after them making such a big mistake. It was most certainly not. I got very frustrated that the dealer still didn’t have their stuff together. There was still confusion over what the problem was and what needed to be fixed. I stood on the concrete floor of the garage for 50 minutes while she pecked at keys and then hand wrote out service orders. What if I were a little old lady? This is completely unacceptable to be so disorganized, to make promises and not deliver, to make blatant mistakes, not take responsibility and to blatantly lie to people. On that fourth visit I was so mad I asked to see the manager and he said he will look into things and try to make it right. By the end of the day they were able to find a headrest for both of my rows of seats (they did not order one for second row as promised but they were able to come up with one that day somehow after me ranting to manager). I will not be going back to this dealer. I will try my luck at the other one in town and hope they are more competent and professional.PS I don’t want to here about how Covid has impacted your business. It has affected us all and your employees should still act professionally and be competent.

Bad attitude and wrong tone of voice from Justin, service department consultant, unwillingness to assist with any concerns for vehicle other than an oil change. It’s disrespectful because the scheduling doesn’t work for us, hence it’s done in advance just for (Nick) to Wait 3 long hours in the lobby since shuttles don’t operate on Saturdays and didn’t even get notification when truck was ready. Either service consultants need more training in customer services or get no recognition in their work, however that negatively is not something anyone wants to deal with!

Anne Kuhl was my sales person and she was great. Went out of her way to make my experience wonderful. Went back and forth for me to get me a price I was happy with. Had to go through a couple of vehicles because both were in valley and one was a courtesy vehicle. She found me another Acadia which cost $2K more and worked with me and manager on price I was happy with. You need more sales personnel like Anne in your company. Overall experience was good and working with Anne Kuhl was fantastic.

Update 4/22 - Had a manager from the dealership get in touch with me and get the matter handled very quickly! Ended up finding the plates and getting them to me the next day. Good on the dealership to get this taken care of!I really do hate to be one of the people to leave a bad review of an establishment but this is unacceptable. After purchasing a vehicle cash from this dealership, Ive waited patiently for two months for my title and plates/tags to come in. When the issue is brought up, I am not getting straight answers as to when the paperwork was filed and the status of my plates and no call back from the title office. The temp plates are now expired and I have to wait for them to come in to drive a vehicle I paid 21K with a $199 doc fee and $30 DMV fee included to have the paperwork done in time. I could have taken this fee and gone straight to the UMV to get this done same day.

Going into the dealership under the circumstances I was placed into, both James the salesmen and Carl in finance helped ease my way in looking for a vehicle. They were polite, listened to my needs and wants, gave me the time needed to process the whole buying process. even let me bring my dog inside as well! At the end of the day, I drove off the lot in exactly what I hoped for. Much appreciated!

Poor customer service and communication, not willing to do the basics of their job. Very unorganized way to do businesses. No one can keep track of your personal information to get ahold of you. Takes three plus months just to not get our permit plates in and they are “unable to issue a new one”. Over all terrible experiences with Michelle and don’t recommend Alaska sales on fifth avenue for purchasing a vehicle.

Horrible customer service. They do not keep you informed, nor call you back unless you leave multiple messages. After being rudely treated by Cody in the service department. I asked to speak to his boss. Instead Cody slammed the phone down hanging up on me! Over and over I’ve returned my truck to have the aftermarket digi shield applied correctly. Kevin told me that I’d receive a partial refund... That was a lie. I will NEVER buy another vehicle from Alaska Sales and Service. This place has HORRIBLE customer service!!!!! They are only interested in the sale, NOT the customer!!!

Calvin and Jordan and Jim were amazing!! They only showed us what was in our budget and were very friendly. They did not try to upsale or make me feel obligated. They negotiated well and gave us exactly what we wanted. They worked hard to help us out. Once we got our new car we went to dinner and came back. Someone broke our window and stole our belongings. We messaged Calvin and he offered us a place to stay. The next day they called all the auto glass places sadly it was Saturday and all of them were mostly closed. They were so friendly and my husband and I felt so taken care of! I love that they are family owned and local.

He called me before I went to the dealership to introduce himself. I emailed him all my bank application and when I got there the suv I wanted was already ready for me to test drive. I stopped in to get my first oil change a week prior. The service writer was very snide and condescending. He asked if I had an appointment.. When I said no, I didnt think I needed an appointment for an oil change. So we made an appointment for a week later on the 30th @ 9:00 am. I dropped the truck off at 8:00 am. At 5:00 pm I still couldnt get an answer as to if it was ready or not. After several attempts I asked to speak with the General Manager. James came on said it would be ready in about 10 minutes. This is after you already had it for almost 10 hours for a scheduled appointment at 9:00am. I ended up having to take a cab to get it. I made arraignments to be dropped off but I couldnt have them wait all evening on you. The only reason you got one star is because you didnt offer anything lower than that. You will not see that truck, or me, ever again. Best of luck. It appears you will need it.

I dont know why I continue to support this business. From the moment I purchased a new vehicle from them last summer it was a negative experience. Today I arrived at 8:15am for a scheduled appt. After waiting in line for 20min + I was able to check in only to be told my appt was for 7:15am and that I couldnt leave my vehicle. I would never book any appt for that early and the fact they refused my vehicle for a 15min job was ridiculous. Way to flex your power, Alaska Sales and Service. Just like the buying experience for a $65K vehicle you have continued to disappoint with maintenance. I suppose you thought denying my appt was teaching me a lesson and youre absolutely right. The lesson learned is to never use your services again.

I made my appointment online for an oil change and an added note to check my windshield wiper switch. When I picked up my vehicle, I noticed on the invoice the oil change had not been done. They wanted me to leave my vehicle again and come back later. I was on a break from work and was not able to do that. I have a busy schedule so this was the best opportunity for me to get this done. This is the second time I have been in for service and only one thing is done from my request. Last time I went to another vendor to complete my request (air conditioning fix) since they were not able to get it done. I was told on my last visit that they can not handle doing more than one thing at an appointment. I find that disturbing.

Had lots of difficulty getting the appointment rescheduled due to customer service representative not returning emails. Had to schedule a separate appointment due to incompetence. Upon arrival to the service appointment, what I had asked to be scheduled for was mischeduled & had to be fit in. The service representative told me he would tack on a free alignment check & engine filter replacement instead of charging me, due to the error along with my oil change. I waited in the wait area for my vehicle & he comes out to tell me that they didnt have me scheduled as a wait for vehicle. I assured him I would indeed be waiting. I watch my vehicle go up on the rack from the waiting area. Shortly, its done with the oil change. A new service representative comes out & tells me my vehicle is done. I asked about the alignment check & she tells me thats not listed in her paperwork. I told her I had indeed scheduled for that & spoken with my initial representative about it, then she made a comment about having to wait for a certain person. I told her that I would be willing to wait & she asked if she should bring the vehicle back in. I said yes. Within 10 minutes, she is back telling me the alignment was good. I told her that I disagreed as the vehicle pulls hard to the right when being driven. She got snippy & handed me my paperwork & then walked away. I paid & left then went straight to South Anchorage Chevrolet to have them check the same things. Interestingly enough, the alignment was confirmed to be off, nor had the engine filter been changed. Had to pay for them to fix the alignment that Alaska Sales Body Shop had supposedly fixed back in February after an accident that had occurred back in December of 2019. Also had to pay for the engine filter to be replaced as it hadnt been replaced since I purchased the vehicle back in July of 2019, yet I had had a previous oil change done at Alaska Sales Service department in April 2020 & was assured then that it had at least been looked at. The South Anchorage Chevrolet service technician stated that it was clear it had never been looked it in the 14 months Ive had the vehicle. Very unimpressed with Alaska Sales at this point.

My sales person, Anne Kuhl was wonderful.However, I was disappointed when I was told that I would be notified when the car I wanted to lease arrived in anchorage. I was not. Then during financing I was given a quote, agreed to it and then told that they accidentally forgot to add in the APR. my payment dramatically increased. I was told by the dealership manager who provided the quote, “ I’m sorry I forgot to add the APR, I’m human”. If this was anyone else’s mistake, other than the dealership manager, I would have felt better. Knowing the the mistake came from the top person who MANAGES the dealership, this is problematic. He then told me me I couldn’t adjust the apr because it was a lease, then “magically” was able to find me a lower quote. I know salesmen and not known to be trustworthy and this experience proves that it is still accurate. Overall, not really impressed with my experience. Other than, Anne who was wonderful and kept my five year old happy while we waited there for 5 hours. I love my new car, did not love the experience. My last three car purchases were from Lythia, I chose Ak Sales to see how they compared. Again, not impressed.
