Ive shopped Quilt Tree & Yarn Branch for many years. For sewing/quilting, they carry an excellent range of fabric, notions, patterns, and offer great classes. In fiber arts, they offer classes, have standard workhorse yarns (think Cascade, Lambs Pride) alongside lines like Noro, Lettlopi, Madelinetosh, Malabrigo, Juniper Moon, and more. Their selection of knitting tools and supplies is solid, too, although theyre sometimes depleted! Call first if you need a specific size needle or notion. That said, if they dont have something, theyre happy to order for you. This is a locally-owned shop that has a great selection, a very nice, knowledgeable staff, and delicious Kaladi Brothers coffee just two doors down at The Black Cup... What more could you want?!

Amazing customer service! I love the help I receive when I’m there for a particular shade to blend with my complex quilt. I believe they have gone above and beyond with community safety with their mask wearing and the supplies they offer to make the masks.

Just want to share that Annette is the best! Not only did she take a great deal of time (months ago) helping me choose the perfect fabric for a very important quilt, today she helped me solve a problem I encountered when I needed more of said fabric. Unfortunately (or fortunately- depending on how you look at it), they were out of the fabric I originally purchased; however, needed more to complete my binding. Annette could obviously see my panic and showed me how to use the miscut fabric I did have to complete the binding. She was patient and knowledgeable and oh so friendly. Id probably still be in the parking lot crying if it wasnt for her assistance. So not only does this shop have a plethora of different fabrics and accessories to choose from, the staff is amazing.

In all honesty I didnt want to go. I have zero interest in sewing crafts, and any time my wife asks me a question I just have a just pick whatever you want look on my face. However that being said, the store was clean. The staff was friendly and from what my wife said knowledgeable about the product, and if sewing quilts is something you want to learn more about they have classes you can take.

As a man who knits and sometimes sews i’ve never felt less welcome or been treated so poorly. i have complained with no response or promises of change and gone back for 5 years and see no change. from comments like “you don’t really knit, do you?” to hearing all other customers being asked if they want to join the mailing list and being ignored when i’m at the register. they seem to have nice fabric and a huge selection and a limited yarn collection. after 10 or so visits i realize i’d rather go without than try to find here. they did reach out with “speak to the manager” but seem to have missed reading about my prior experiences that i have discussed...repeated visits over 5 years with some discussions indicate the unlikelihood of any change happening.

I love this place. The ladies are always friendly and helpful, whether they work there or not. The class samples hanging on the wall are gorgeous, talk about inspiration! They have increased their selection of flannel backings, yay! The yarns are so fun to touch; they almost make me want to take up knitting.

I love this store. The gorgeous colors, the many batiks, the flannels, the sample quilts on the walls-all of it makes me wish I could spend my whole day quilting. And the knitting section, or Yarn Branch as they call it, makes me think that I must take up knitting. The chunky throws, the cozy socks, so Nanny textures and colors. I just love wandering this store.Ps. They have a train table to keep littles occupied! I can bring my 3 year old and know hes enjoying himself as much as I am!

By far the focus is on quilting fabrics, which unfortunately is one craft I never got into, but thats not all! The salespeople are clearly knowledgeable and the selection of quilting fabrics, patterns, and notions appears diverse. The yarn here is on par with the rest of the Anchorage scene..some sturdy basics, some stuff from trendy mid-size producers, and a few high end cashmere skinny skeins, nothing groundbreaking but would do in a pinch. But this is a quilt store, so lets get back to the fabrics.. I was happy to discover that in the past year theyve added garment quality fabrics at very reasonably prices, as well as some indie clothing patterns. Fabrics include dobby, mudcloth, mariner weave, some nubby yarn-dyed cottons, and corderouy, all in the range of $11-17/yd. Some cute Japanese KOKKA prints were in there. Cant wait to go back and pick some up when I clear out part of my current stash! :)

Decent yarn selection, still have yet to interact with a salesperson who knows much of anything about yarn or their yarn selection. This can be frustrating when you are looking for something specific. If you have time to browse it is less so. Another thing is that they do not update their selection with new dyers or artists. Pretty standard, nothing extraordinary. Definitely a quilting store with an afterthought of yarn. But hey, it’s in the name.

I have gone in here a few times because they tend to carry different types of yarn than my usual store, and the extended selection is nice. They have been helpful for the most part, but seem to be more geared towards quilters.

These days I am purchasing most of my yarn online, but I still come in here to check out the Madelinetosh yarn options from time to time. They usually have a good selection of that and Malabrigo, which are two of my favorites. The staff is very nice and professional and you get rung up quickly, but I think they definitely know more about quilting than about yarn in this shop.

Very expensive and bad customer service. I came in to the Quilt Tree and there were 3 employees in the store and I was the only person there. None of them greeted me or asked to help me find what I was looking for... they continued chatting amongst themselves about blades of blunders breaking off and cutting peoples mouthed quite loudly. I approached the counter after about 10 minutes of looking around and asked if they had an cruelty free wool to which they replied, Just Google it.
