Ankeny towing was contacted through my insurance company and scheduled to come pick up my car at around 11:30 pm. It was stated that they would be there to pick up my car in about an hour. Around 1 am, an hour and a half later, I attempted to call Ankeny Towing multiple times to see when they would arrive. Nobody answered the phone. I contacted my insurance company and they had to cancel my tow with Ankeny Towing and go to another towing company. Absolute waste of time.

Called them this past Saturday around 830 am. The person who answered acted like we were bugging them and almost came across like we were being rude for calling so early. 830 isnt early. But whatever. When we asked for a tow they responded Im gonna have to get one of my drivers out of bed ! Sorry we called... the guy who showed up was a clown. Was very rude and acted like we were bad people for making him work. Took over an hour to get there and no customer service. Id rather be stranded in hell than deal with these people again.

The driver demanded to be paid before he even touched my vehicle. His customer service was rather sketchy. Seemed pretty irritated the entire trip which lasted a total of 9 mins from walmart to the auto repair across the street. 79.00

My daughter broke down right on N. Ankeny Blvd. and being new in town we had no idea who to call. Ankeny Towing was recommended to us and we were glad they were. Prompt, courteous, and extremely nice, our tow person might have only needed to tow us 100 yards but he treated my daughter and I like we were his best customers of the day.

Coldest day of the year and my car wouldn’t start. My roadside assistance couldn’t find anyone due to all the calls taking place with this nationwide cold snap. So I called Ankeny Towing. They said they would be there in 25 minutes and they showed up on 15. Jump started the car right away for $40. Fast and efficient service. Highly recommend them, thanks for the great service!!

Super rude on the phone. It was going to be a 1.5 to 2 hour wait, which was fine. However, we pretty much had to force the guy on the phone to take down our number to call us when they were on their way. I don’t see how it’s reasonable to assume someone is going to sit and wait for 2 hours, hope this isn’t company policy. On the other hand, the guy that actually helped us out on site was very polite and helpful.

I slid off the road into a deep snow drift at 5:30 in the morning. I was quoted 2 hours to show up and another 30 or so to pull me out. The tow truck showed up in about 45 minutes and had me out of the ditch in about another 30 minutes. $100 seemed very reasonable for cost as well. Would definitely recommend.

Tried to get a tow last night because my radiator blew stranding me about a 1.5 miles from my house around 9 pm while snowing and with wind blowing making it -9 degrees outside. Was told they closed due to weather only taking police calls and I needed to call in the morning. Thankfully I was able to catch someone not in bed yet an was able to take me home.

I have used Ankeny Towing twice and each time has been a good experience, other than my car needing towed. Today I needed them again and the driver was very nice. I was pretty close to home and decided I would just walk home. After taking the car to the repair shop I realized I forgot to give him the keys and would need to drop them off the next day. As I was walking down the street the driver showed up apologizing about not asking if I needed a ride which I assured him that it was OK and it was a nice night for a walk but accepted the ride and thanked him. After dropping me off at home he said he would would drop my keys off at the shop for me. Awesome service for me not having to drop them off after forgetting to give him the keys.Thanks again Patrick.

Needed a late night tow and he said he would be there within the hour and I think I waited about 30 minutes or so. Way faster than what I expected! Very reasonable and got me taken care of fast and professional. Highly recommended, although I hope I dont have to use them anytime again soon!

These guys are awesome! Seems I’m always getting stuck, a flat, or getting ran off the road and getting stuck and a flat! Glad I can laugh about it in hindsight!! Unprofessional and rude over the phone. Was told they dont take appointments, would have to call back again the next day, and would receive a call when they were on the way and never got one.

It took over an hour for them to show up, it was a routine tow. No weather problems. I rode with the driver to the destination, tried to make conversation, but he didnt say much. Price was acceptable

Very rude and unprofessional. I needed to drop of key and pay. They were called before with all information. Kept asking me questions, but had all info. Acted like I was bothering him. Extremely angry about something apparently I got the brunt of it. Bill was 68.90, gave him 70. Gave me 10 cents and rec.eipts and I said he still owed me a dollar. Well that ticked him off too.Gave me dollar after asking one of other guys if they had one.Yes sir, I am a woman and not used to some things, but Im not stupid and you were very very unprofessional.

My car broke down this morning at 6:30 AM at the busiest intersection in Ankeny. I called right when it happened seeing that it wasnt moving. A man answered the phone and I asked for a tow and unfortunately he was hard to hear because the phone had a lot of static. I had to ask him twice what he said and when I finally heard him he yelled something at me and then hung up. I wasnt sure if he was sending someone. 20 minutes later Jacob Appel showed up and saved the day. He was very nice and helpful. Hes the reason for the 5 star review! I will call Ankeny Towing again because of his kindness.

Great service. The wait was not not long at all considering my call was likely during the worst time of the day. Eric did a really great job, was courteous, and truly cared about getting it done properly. He is one hell of a good driver too! Getting a tow is never fun for anyone involved, but Eric made it suck a lot less than normal thanks to the level of service and care he provided.

Jake was awesome! He was very polite and professional. I would use him again for sure.

They showed up quickly and the price wasnt bad at all. The driver was very kind and friendly and spent some extra time getting my broke down truck right where I needed it in our driveway even though he had to work around some other parked equipment to do it.

Eric got my car dropped off and this is my second time getting my car towed by him. He has been fantastic both times. Hes personable and kind.

Awesome customer service... Told me he would be about an hour due to an accident but was there within 20 minutes to unlock my vehicle. Also, Todd was very accommodating with a u-haul even tho they werent technically open. A+

I was ten miles from Ankeny and it took about 25 minutes for him to get to me which i thought was good timing. He was very through when hooking up my car, he explained why he was doing it the certain way, as to not damage my vehicle by just hooking it up any place available and just yanking it out, which in turn took a little while but I was grateful for him taking good care of my car when I was in a stressful situation to begin with. Would recommend calling Ankeny Towing for help any time. I hope I never need to call for a tow again but if I do I will be calling them!

Called this morning and asked to have a vehicle towed to Cambridge (20 miles north of Ankeny) unfortunately they said it was “too far” I would not recommend if you are wanting to tow a vehicle out of town.

They were there to give me a jump quickly, EXCELLENT SERVICE & GOOD PEOPLE.

I will solely use this company from now on. I somehow locked myself out of my car today while at LOF auto shop. I had both of my kids inside so I needed in asap, but my purse and my phone were inside. A sweet gal at the auto shop came out and helped call Ankeny Towing. They came out to help asap. The guy got into my van very quickly! Unfortunately, when it came time to pay, I didnt have any cards or cash on me. The young man was hesitant (with obvious reason) but allowed(trusted) me to get cash and pay at the store front. I didnt catch the young guys name but because he was honest, fast, efficient and flexible, I absolutely will use theses guys again. And I plan on telling everyone I know. Its not everyday you meet people/companies that have this good of service. Thank thank thank you again for making my stupid mistake seem pretty minor.Also, make sure you have SOMETHING in your vehicle to pay someone, in case youre a dummy like me! Thanks again guys!

Over priced, Rude demeanor on the phone.Apparently tow truck driver does not know how to use his cell phone to call you just shows up unannounced basically no heads up I would not recommend this tow company. I am a technician and use many tow companies and never had to pay so much for a toe nor experienced such rudeness on the phone one tow company Ill never use. I only used them because I was broke down just outside of Ankeny thought Id give them a try never-again.

The guy I talked to put up with my awful phone, got me help as soon as he could, and was able to just fix my car on the spot with a jump, negating the need for the actual tow and saving me money at the shop. I literally couldnt be happier. Wish I could give more than 5 stars. Ill recommend them to everyone from now on.

Spoke to a disrespectful man over the phone shortly after 1 am. I understand the lateness of the hour but 24/7 is supposed to mean 24/7 (I have never been towed before so I asked him what he needed from me). he was very short with me, but I understand its late and no one wants to get a call to do this. I gave him the address of the vehicle and the address to drop it off. I go on to ask if I was needed at the time of the tow. He said he wouldnt tow a carwithout a key. I answered with okay and if he could call me back when he was close by. He went on to sigh and not say a word to me afterwards. I said if that is not convenient I would wait by the car.By this time he had hung up on me. I never like to be that guy and write the whinny review, however this was the most disrespectful person I have had the the honor of speaking too in quite some time. I was in need, and left to deal with it. After the fact I called another company earlier for a tow, then forgotten by them after being told to wait an hour for a phone call.The date is 2/6/18 at 2:02 as I finish this review. You may want to talk to your overnight driver for this night about his customer service or you may end up losing more customers due to a poor employee.

I was told Ankeny Towing towed my car after an accident. I called, but they had no record of my car. A few minutes later, Shawn (sp) called me back (I hadnt even given him my number)! He said he found who towed my car and gave me the number. Outstanding customer service!!!

CROOKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Im new to Ankeny, and per my landlords instructions had parked my 2nd vehicle in the street. While I was away visiting family over the holidays my vehicle was towed due to a snow ordinance. I was charged $320 for having my vehicle towed less than 3 miles. It was 9 days before I was able to get my truck back. When I mentioned that I would have had it picked up sooner had I known that it had been towed the jerk on the phone got snarky and said that the city doesnt require them to notify the vehicle owner until after 20 days.

Rudest business owner Ive ever encountered.

I had just installed a rebuilt transmission in my classic car. On the test drive a seal blew out and left me stranded. I searched for towing on my phone and Ankeny Towing showed up. I called on a Saturday afternoon, and they showed up within 10 minutes. He took great care in loading the car and didnt produce one scratch on it (I looked after we got it home). Asked for enough business cards to put in all of my cars gloveboxes, and they are all I will use now.2 months later another car I own had a dead battery after leaving the headlights on while shopping. Showed up, and gave me a quick jump so I could make it home to put it on the charger.
