Bookbound is AMAZING! Peter and Megan are extremely helpful, make great recommendations, and they are always more than happy to place special orders if youre looking for something a bit unusual. They communicate quickly via email for curbside orders and the whole process of getting books from them is easy and pleasant, while maintaining a high level of covid-related safety.

As usual, my trip to Bookbound was fantastic. Even though they are a smaller shop, in terms of square footage, they ALWAYS seem to have exactly what I am looking for and so much more. I went in just to browse and was delighted to find a 2-year-old book that was on my list. I love that whenever I am in, I am allowed to browse at my own pace, taking in all the store has to offer.

Awesome local bookstore. Owners are very sweet and friendly, not to mention you find great deals on almost any title you can imagine. The owners often have their very sweet dog hang around, which is another added bonus of this wonderful little shop. Id give it 6 stars if I could.

I love books and people who love books and this is a book lovers book place. I was here for a reading. A good friend is promoting his new poetry book and a great group of people had come out for it. Thats another thing, Bookbound has gatherings for readers and authors. There was an open Mike. I recited a poem! Parking is a problem and the store is definitely out of the way. I would not have arrived on time without Waze. There is resident dog that I could have done without. A nice, cozy store.

This is our favorite bookstore! They have a wonderful childrens section, they are known for it....but they also have an excellent selection of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and even bargain books and advance copies of works prior to official publication. There are several good restaurants within easy walking distance, and plenty of parking. They also offer social events like open mic and poetry reading nights, as well as a childrens storytime. The owners are wonderful people.

My favorite bookstore I’ve ever been to! They have a vast selection of books and a staff who is more than willing to help you in the direction you’re looking for. Not to mention, Chester the dog will make you feel right at home by asking for a good head rub and quickly falling asleep in your lap. Love love love this place!

Excellent selection with personal service. The store hosts live poetry reading once a month from various authors. I was honored with the opportunity to read there, and its an experience I treasure.

If I loved books the way I love music this would be the place Id go all the time. Wonderful spot to browse, find new reads, and buy presents for family.

A comfortable, welcoming local book store. I felt like a friend the first time I walked in and was greeted by the waggy tail doggie and Megan, one of the owners. I was really happy with the excellent selection of modern authors, plus a wide stock of Michigan and locally focused books and authors. If you know what you want, they probably have it, and even better, if you are not sure what you want, they have the best of the best currently out and a great selection of earlier works as well. For those like me that like used books, they have a very well curated selection of those as well. Will visit often.

I needed a book for my professor husband, a guy w a high iq and limited attention span. We talked for awhile and the owner pulled out five perfect choices, including a new collection of Oliver Sacks essays! My search was over. They also have traditional and funny, snarky cards we both love. And often theres a dog. Every bookstore should have a dog or cat in charge.

This place has the sweetest folks working there. They remember my name and the genre I like and offered to order more like it even giving me recommendations. Its how you dream bookstores are with these knowledge helpful people but it was real. I love shopping here and I will continue to shop here for as long as I remain in the area.

I was honored to be invited as the Featured Poet as part of Bookbounds series of Open Mic events on second Thursdays. I have now read my poems at six or so such events elsewhere, but Peter and Megan of Bookbound (and Leslie McGraw, the series coordinator) have created a lovely, safe space for ANYONE to share a few of their own poems, or even the work of their favorite author, before the vaunted featured author gets up to take the stage. The message is clear--all voices are valued, and every point of view is needed. For authors, this is an amazing opportunity to share their work in a town where all other venues are locked up by nationally or even internationally famous authors. For non-authors, its a way to participate in the creative process in a place that feels like your very own living room. Theres a whole shelf of books by local authors here to look at (and maybe even buy)--and no, you might not recognize many of the names, but that doesnt mean theyre not good. One of them might touch your heart in just the way you need.
