I fell in love with this coffee shop! It was my first time going. I was with my sister. We ordered 2 drinks and a scone. The guys at the counter were so sweet and nice. Our drinks were so good and very well presented. The atmosphere was very pleasant. It was a good place to sit and chat and catch up (which was what I did) but you also see a bunch of people with laptops working or doing homework. It was absolutely perfect. I loved it.

Coffee was smooth, but light - I would personally prefer it stronger and heavier - and the taste is not as unique as other cafes in the area.Perfect place for a quite study. Slow service for a weekend day, but a very relaxing and welcoming atmosphere.

Super cute hipster coffee shop with delicious coffee. I tried the hot chocolate and the vanilla latte and they were great.Theres also an adorable little childrens book shop inside. The shop also looked like a nice place to do some schoolwork--I saw a few students working there. The coffee shop is also just above a cute bookstore; its seems like the two shops have a symbiotic relationship.

Ive visited here several times with friends, and each time has been a good experience.I typically order a drip coffee, which is always prepared quickly and with care. There is a decent amount of seating, and many of the seats are near the windows. The seats along the outside of the room are certainly ideal, since they are near windows and outlets, but the other seats arent terrible. They close the seating area early in the evening to prepare for events, so be sure to check the schedule before you plan a late evening trip here.

Great local coffee. Their espresso drinks are particularly excellent. Plenty of seating and even when its crowded you can always find somewhere to sit. Baristas are knowledgeable and friendly. All in all quite possibly my favorite coffee shop anywhere.

The coffee is great (espresso with sparkling water, yes please!) and the location itself is beautiful. What makes Literati perfect is the combination of the coffee shop with an amazing book store downstairs. Only downside: Gets crowded at time, especially during the semesters. Finding seating can be hard.

This is a cute little coffee place tucked away above the library. However, very popular and can get very busy. Coffee is a little overpriced, and definitely a shortage of plug space for your electronic recharging. It skews to a younger crowd so I felt a little out of place, but I felt it was a decent place to catch up on work emails and random action items

Br
Review №17

Good coffee and great atmosphere! However, as a student and frequent visitor, I am disappointed by their decision to ban the use of laptops at tables near the windows -- even when the café is half-empty! I can understand setting a few tables aside for laptop-free use when the café is crowded and low turnover is an issue, but I feel this policy should be flexible. Theres really no reason to force students studying on their laptops to sit at the communal table when all four of the window tables are free. I am likely to visit Literati less frequently if this policy continues.

Were fortunate enough to have several great coffee bars in Ann Arbor, but this one is my favorite. The baristas are some of the most friendly folk Ive had the pleasure of being served espresso by.The (Espresso) Bar has a laid back vibe with good music, interesting people, and some of the best coffee drinks around. If you live here or if youre just traveling through make a point to stop in.

5.0 star ratingStopped by Literati Coffee today and absolutely loved it. I passed through the attached bookstore, Literati Bookstore, on my way up to the coffeeshop. They have an amazing selection of books! Once I made my way upstairs, I was warmly greet by the baristas. I ordered something off their seasonal menu, the Pumpkin Spice Latte, and my daughter chose the Chai Latte. Both AMAZING! They know how to make a latte!! With tasty sips and a great window view of the city, Literati is a must visit while in Ann Arbor.

This place is one of just a handful of places in Ann Arbor where you can find really quality Espresso. If youre used to european style espresso and generally frustrated with the American style of too much water and milk, youll be right at home here. The barista and founder, Sandy, has been involved in the Coffee scene around Ann Arbor for quite a while, being one of the staff of Comet Coffee when it started. There arent many better baristas out there, and this is clear in the quality of the coffee here. Beans are generally from interesting, high end roasters, often Michigan companies. The location is interesting, being across from the farmers market in the colorful braun ct. Plenty of seating and a good atmosphere.
