Bottom Line: Open-source learning and DIY neuroscience projects, amazing idea and fantastic execution.--All of these people leaving one star reviews are apparently so concerned with the issues of the rights of a cockroach that theyve managed to overlook the significance of what this group has accomplished. Genuinely accessible open-source neuroscience technology, opening the doors to at-home learning for a rapidly expanding field. Ive used their projects myself, they function wonderfully and are perfectly easy to use. I hope to see more groups like this in the near future.

These folks are awesome. They supply easy-to-use hardware at a great price and lots of written support on their web site. They also are great people, deeply committed to open-source learning.

Roaches (and no living creature EVER) do not deserve to be tortured and brain controlled. People saying this company is gonna be helping neuroscience make advances and stuff are TERRIFYING. Youre okay with hurting a thinking, feeling creature for fun, huh? Disgusting! And if anyone thinks oh roaches dont think animals dont think or feel: they compete to establish social hierarchies, they care for their young, they can learn through association, and can recognize and “like” individual humans. You people and your fans are seriously evil and sick and youre going to breed a generation of evil, sick children who think harming living beings is okay.

I am not a fan of cockroaches either, but the message that the RoboRoach Kit sends to kids is still horrible. If you guys really want to promote studying the brain, try it without permanently damaging who- or whatever the brain belongs to.
