I have wanted to build a kayak for years. I was close by so I took a short detour and stopped by. Im going to watch for the 2022 schedule so I can go build a wooden kayak

I have only interacted with them via their website and through email, as I slowly work my way through building one of their small boat kits (skerry). Customer service has been top notch, and the kit itself is excellent. I had a very small broken piece on my kit that occurred during shipping, and they replaced it immediately, no questions asked.

Kayak builders nirvana. We poked around long enough to finally be offered a tour. Telling them we were from Alaska and had built one of their kayaks 18 years ago helped. Great selection of parts and kit ideas. Some really cool stuff.

I couldnt be happier with my experience with CLC. My brother, dad, and I built the Kahalo 14 kit together last year. The kit is easy to follow and the result is a beautiful SUP. Looking forward to getting started on the Chesapeake 17LT kit. There was some slight damage from shipping but customer service was incredibly helpful and immediately sent out replacement pieces. Highly recommend CLC!

Great boat building class

Best customer service I have EVER had ANYWHERE from ANY company... The instructions can be a little mystifying, and the pictures can be confusing, but this aint Ikea, folks! When I bought my Passagemaker, I met the owner at a local show for delivery to save the shipping costs. When Ive had questions, the folks I spoke with were incredibly helpful, patient, and supportive. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Pretty cool place! Seems like there are very few places like this anywhere, so people may visit here from quite far away. My Dad is very interested in this kind of stuff (wooden boat/kayak building) and we made sure to stop by and check it out on our trip in July 2019 to the Arsenal game (at FedEx Field) and then Annapolis the next day. Were from New Jersey.

This place is so cool. I stopped by to look at their best selling boat, the teardrop trailer, and they let me poke around, get in it, and helped with any questions I may have had. Also, the boats are awesome.

A friend and I had a wonderful time building a boat. In a little over a week we had a fully constructed boat only requiring the we finish it when we got home. The instructor was dedicated to our success and the staff was friendly. I had never built a boat but I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Working with jone on a fix

I have a Pocket Ship sail boat . the video about the boat is very miss leading . there is no way the boat will sail in 10 knots of wind or more without 100 kg of lead under the floor, i might add more in the future .

The teardrop teak trailer is amazing starting at $1995.

Wildly brilliant kit - have a Shearwater 17 that tracks extremely well, very stable, and fast. Looks great, especially with Sapele deck. Kit lacks only deck lines, s-cam buckle hatch straps, and hints on how to do excellent varnishing. Love da boat!
