Very personalized service! We are so impressed with this beautiful local shop, where we rented my sons string instrument 🎻 He is a beginner and she was so patient and knowledgeable! Very nice quality selection with rental plans. We didn’t expect to be renting a brand new bow, viola and case, but that’s the quality of rental we received. We feel more confident knowing if we need repairs or help she is located nearby with expert repair. Thank you!

This shop is a gem and 5 stars doesnt do it justice. My violin had a crack on the back, right under the post. Fixing it requires opening up the violin and applying a patch. Its like brain surgery for the violin and requires a lot of skill and patience. Before I knew about Annapolis Bows & Violin I took it to 2 other shops and I was told the repair was very expensive and that it was not worth it for my violin. Rebecca, on the other hand, fixed this extremely well and professionally, and for a fraction of the cost. I was amazed both by the quality of her work and the price. And if that was not enough, since I needed a new bow and could not decide at the shop which one to pick, she lent me 3 for a week, to try them out at home. And then, another 3 for another week. Im still in awe of my fortune, my violin got a new life. Rebecca is extremely nice and works with the clients on their needs, she is very skilled and must really like what she does. Annapolis Bows & Violins did an amazing job rehairing my violin bow and the price was very reasonable. I was so impressed with the work that I ended up renting my son’s instrument from this shop for his school orchestra. The rental program is affordable and easy. When we broke a string on my son’s violin this fall, we were able to bring it in immediately for a free repair. Highly recommend Annapolis Bows & Violins for any string instrument owner. I’m looking forward to upgrading my violin case here in the new year.

Becca is extremely helpful and goes out of her way to accommodate specific needs and you may not realize you have. She is profoundly experienced and knowledgeable. She has made my foray into a new hobby that much more exciting.

We took my daughters viola to Rebecca for peg compound and new strings. She expertly completed the job within 15-20 minutes while answering our questions about the instrument. We also left the bow there to be re-haired. It didnt take very long for Rebecca to complete that job either and now my daughter is extremely happy with all the improvements! The prices are reasonable and we were very pleased with everything. In addition, Rebecca has a warm & friendly vibe that made us feel like weve been acquainted for some time rather than just meeting her for the first time. The overall experience reminds me that there are still amazing small businesses in our community that need our support as much as we need them!

Love this small, woman-owned business! The violins we have rented are very nice and Becca has been great to work with as far as sizing, and swapping bow sizes when we had an issue.

I wouldnt go anywhere else for instrument repairs and bow rehairs-- Rebeccas work is superb and reasonably priced. Rebecca has also been very helpful with teacher recommendations, instrument rentals, and accessories like stands and shoulder rests. We are so lucky to have her in Annapolis!

Rebecca was very helpful getting my old violin ready for my niece to use! I reached out to multiple violin repair shops in the area and she was the first to respond. Currently you can go to her shop by appointment only, but this meant she was able to take care of all my needs in a matter of minutes. She also has violins for sale, we will be coming here when my niece needs the next size!

I recently began taking violin lessons and wanted to upgrade to a higher quality bow. Im so glad I found Rebeccas shop. There was a separate room available to play, trying multiple bows. After several months of using my new bow, Im more determined to continue to play and practice. What a difference an upgraded bow can make!

Amazing customer service and selection

I had two bows rehaired here. The bow hair is of excellent quality (Mongolian Stallion). The proprietor is very friendly and can make arrangements to fit your schedule. Heres a tip for parking. Park at Noah Hillman garage. Then walk up main street to Tate alley. Take Tate to state circle and turn right. Walk down past the first road on the circle, then 41 is on the right in a large building, next to a food shop. If your visit is brief (drop off/pickup), you can get back to the garage in time for there to be no parking fee.

I was heartbroken when my favorite bow snapped at a gig. I thought for sure the bow was done for. I took it to Rebecca and was amazed by the quality of work. The bow plays like the day I bought it. This was my first time visiting her shop and certainly wont be my last. I highly recommend it!

Rebecca took my beater violin that I use for outdoor festivals apart and refitted it with bridge, fingerboard adjustments, sound post, pegs, braced the split back (which was coming apart) and cleaned the whole thing up. It plays and sounds so good I might have to buy another violin to call a “beater”. She did all of this work in a week as I travel a lot and have to be in TX for gigs on Thursday.I am a first time customer and as a traveling musician it can be difficult to find repair folks that you trust and like. If I have other work I need done I’ll be shipping to her and Annapolis Bows & Violins until I pass through the area again.I could not recommend her enough. Rebecca Hannigan, of Annapolis Bows & Violins, is an excellent Luthier! No need to drive around the beltway anymore when you need anything related to bowed instruments. I will also add that I dropped off 4 bows to be repaired and they were ready the next day.
