My son-in-law and I heard of this great little meat market that we had to try. I will say the meat cuts were great and some of the staff was really friendly. The reason I gave it three stars was when we tried to pick our meat the guy helping us was kind of condescending and until I got a little rough with him back telling him this is our first time here and sorry but I just didnt know my cuts of meat he eased up a little. I like the idea that this is a family ran Meat Market in a small town so we were trying to support the local community by going here. I would say if you know what youre looking for and how you want your cuts of meat then go, if youre trying to figure out what you want and youre not sure. I would suggest going somewhere else that may be more accommodating.

So sad.....wanted to get some great steaks for Fathers day so check out the website which said open on Fridays but its 1pm and store closed. Also no answer on the phone. Looks like they are out of business.

This is a no frills hometown butcher shop. The fresh-ground burger we bought was the best tasting weve had in ages. The in-house smoked salmon was moist & flavorful. The fresh-ground/made brats & Italian sausage were so flavorful.

I was excited to stop at a local butcher and get quality meat and hometown service. Unfortunately the guys get a little grumpy towards the end of the day and I was told not to look at anything just go inside and tell them what you want. Sucks that a local business has zero customer service skills.

Their meats are fantastic. I only give 4 stars because of their hours. Most people that can afford to buy their products have jobs and cant get there before 5pm. I would spend a lot more money there is they were open until 7pm. Either way, if youre looking for quality, look no further.

Real butchers and a great selection. This is not your typical meat counter at a grocery store. You have real butchers working here and you can get any cut you wish although for some youll have to preorder and the meat is fresh.

The best butcher in Lake County. They sell prime beef and it is prime! The meat is fantastic. Weve also tried the salads, eggs, bread and frozen foods and they have all been great!

Excellent butcher shop. There is a walk in cooler and they have very prompt and knowledgable butchers there who are happy to help you with your needs. Also the quality! The ground beef there is a big step above what you would find at your average supermarket. I highly recommend the Antioch Packing House.

Best butcher shop around, always fresh meats and friendly people, Antioch is lucky to have a place like this in town, the owner is a little rude but thats the fun of going in there and getting him aggravated, but he is a nice guy once you get to know him, go to Antioch packing house for quality food products.

Had to check this place out because my boyfriends coworker raves about it...they drive all the way from the south side to get their meats here, so it must be fantastic, right? IT IS! Stopped in there yesterday to get some steaks and have a look-see. Its in a old building that shows it years, the lighting is dim and its just doesnt look like much of a butcher shop when you first walk in. Head upstairs to the cooler (I checked out the freezers on the way...full of duck, burgers etc) and there you find what you came for! The butcher cut me a ribeye and a new york strip, both weighing in at over a pound, and I picked up some freshly ground (like, right in front of my eyes) ground round. The ribeye was for my boyfriend who LOVES ribeye and is very, very picky when it comes to it...he commented throughout his meal how wonderful the steak was (he ate all 19oz), and this morning proclaimed it the best steak he has ever eaten in his life. Their prices were very reasonable, maybe a dollar or two more per pound that youd pay at the grocery store, and the quality is so much greater. Its a no-brainer to purchase here for the quality and to support a small local business. Definitely worth the trip, definitely fantastic meat, definitely will be back very soon!!
