These folks are the best! They got both my mountain bikes back up and running (one was trashed and one was severely neglected) and had a great selection of used bikes that I could get for my youngest. Very knowledgeable and caring about getting your bike ready for you.
Very polite and accommodating. Prices were reasonable for the quality of bikes sold and service for repair was quick. Overall great experience. Will return again for any future bike repair needs.
Great little bike shop. The staff was super helpful and available.
Its good, Im saying this because my uncle owns it! But its still good!
I was pleased with the quick service and thorough explanation of what Z did to fix my bike and get it ready for biking season. It is cash only. I thought the price was a bit higher, but I dont know going rates with the latest supply-and-demand. Thank you, Z!
I brought in my MTB with a problem rear hydraulic brake. He told me he does not work on hydraulic brakes but took the time to show me how to refill the reservoir myself. I did it the way he said and it worked like a charm. If one of my other bikes needs servicing I will bring it here.
Zee talked about how Biden was responsible for the bike parts not being available when they started not being available last May 2020. Needless to say my bike didnt get fixed. 🥴
Very helpful, friendly and fast service. Fixed my bike quickly.
I took my mountain bike there for tuning. I had an issue with front derailleur, it’s fixed and the bike is running in great condition now. I was offered free oil and minor adjustments for free for life!
I recently got some bike service done at this shop and needless to say that it was not up to par. I chose this shop based on the positive comments here on Google. The owner has a strict policy of only cash which is fine with me. As you can imagine, no bill and I didnt press for one..and its up to the shop on how they manage their taxes. But I found the service prices to be actually higher compared to other shops specially if they have a cash only policy. You would think that the shop will pass on some of the savings to the customers if there are no credit card fee and such involved in the transaction. Again it was my decision to pick this shop, so wont blame the owner for his prices. Just letting others know. The owner had to put couple of missing screws on the bike and I got charged an additional $5 for that which I found to be little extreme when you are getting a $100+ job done there. The bikes wheel got some truing as part of the service and the wheel ended up having a slight bend. The owner didnt mention about it until I asked about it. He says he tried to tighten the nipples of the spokes as much as he could. If a bike mechanic cannot true a regular womens road bike wheel, then why should I pay the servicing fee? He said that the wheel might have gotten bent before it got to the shop which I doubt since its my wifes bike and she barely rides. And its a high quality bike, not an $80 bike from Walmart. The overall experience left a lot to be desired. Needless to say Im not going back. At least I guess I supported the local community rather than those chain stores. If you have nicer bikes that you want service work done on or for a full service where you expected every component of the bike to be thoroughly looked at, then this may not be the right shop. The owner is the only one who works on the bikes and I felt like he cut corners to attend to all the bikes in a given day. My bike didnt even get a wipe down as part of a full service which other bike shops do. For kids bikes, a quick flat tire etc. you may be ok with this shop.
Small, homegrown, and a bit cluttered ... but its all worth it as Z is a brilliant at bicycle repair.
This place is awesome!!! The owner is a bike Master!!! I brought my sons bike in for a tune up and now it rides like a new bike.
Old-fashioned customer service and they stand behind their work.
Unbelievable. I sent my husband in to have a quick look for a new bike since its our daughters birthday in 2 weeks. He went in and said hello. The lady behind the counter asked if he was looking for anything in particular. The place only seemed to have used bikes, so he said You dont seem to have what Im looking for, but thank you. and he headed out.The man in the store, shouted Thanks for what? as my husband left. He went back inside and said I was being polite and thanked you for allowing me to come into your store. Not only that, but the man was smoking a cigarette inside the store, and the lady seemed unable to greet customers properly. Given the coronavirus situation bikes are hard to find these days, but its also courteous to your customers to show you are doing your part to stay safe, and wear a mask. Neither of them were.We already have four bikes in our household, and we were also considering coming here to get them repaired and serviced from time to time. Suffice to say we wont be coming here again. If a polite customer seems to irritate the owners, then why should we spend our money here? Thanks again... but you wont be getting a dime from us.
Z is the best!! He takes great care of our family.
We had very good experience with them. One of our friends recommended this place since we were not able to find any other bike shop or local repair person who could fix our bike. Z at bike shop was very prompt and professional. Overall experience was very positive and they were reasonably priced too.
They went above and beyond! I called expecting to make an appointment for my daughters bike sometime in the next month. During this pandemic, I had heard bike shops were very busy so I was shocked when he worked me in the same day. After a quick and thorough repair and inspection, the owner showed my 10 year old how to properly use her gears. As if I wasnt already sold on this shop by this point in the process, I was very pleasantly surprised by the price. This was a wonderful, personal, small business experience. I will absolutely be back with any future bike issues and I will recommend them to anyone who is needing bike maintenance and repair.
Friendly and Affordable bike repair. The gentleman that owns the shop you can tell loves what he does. He had the exact tire i needed for my daughters bike which I found was very hard to find. He replaced the old tire and had me going in 15 minutes time for a very affordable price. I definitely recommend this shop if you need any repairs or tune ups.
Exceptional personal service by a true professional.
Awesome bike shop. Extremely knowledgeable, very quick repairs, reasonable pricing. Best bike shop in the area.
Having read the other reviews my expectations were pretty high for this business. Im not sure what it is about Raleigh - but service industry businesses just continue to disappoint after being here 3 years. This business is no different. I took my lunch hour to drive down to the bike shop from RTP. Mildly annoying they are closed on Monday, I decide to drive town today. Only to find the door locked, and the business closed. I wasted 1 hour of my time, 50 miles on my vehicle, and a few gallons of gas. Im the type of customer who looks for reliable services I can patronize over and over, and hopefully perpetually. And then spread the word of good service. Unfortunately, I wont waste my time going back to this shop again. Now you might say Why not call first? Fair to some extent but the hours say they are open on Tuesdays. When I did call the owner says I had to get out of town. Great. Are you on the run from the law? The grass around the shop was about a foot high. As nice as this guy might be, Id suggest not wasting your time and effort.
When I say God places Angels here on Earth believe me Z is one of them. They gave me what I needed no charge. Please give them a try when your bike need repairs.
Z is extremely helpful and trusting. He let me leave without paying (because he only takes cash or PayPal). I only had a small issue with my bike, but wouldn’t have figured it out if it wasn’t for him. I will recommend this small business to everyone that is looking for a good and honest shop!
Z is a great guy. He let me take a back wheel for my daughters bike even though I didnt have any cash on me. I came back later and paid him. Who does that? This guy is great.
The guy that owns and operates this small shop is incredible. I brought in my Trek from over 15 years ago, got new cables, and a full tune-up, new handle grips, new inner tubes, and one tire, all for about $200. I was very impressed with the work, and the owners communication was on point. The rear wheel of my daughters bike, a fairly new Schwinn, was not gliding the way it should. He offered to throw it up on the hanger and give it a quick look for free. I like supporting local, and this business is as local as it can get and maintains high levels of service at a reasonable rate. Ill be back for sure.
Stopped in to get some work done on my 20 year old Schwinn. Thought I was looking at a couple hundred bucks. Nope. The owner fixed my breaks and I was on my way in ten minutes. Great customer service!
Wonderful service, Great place, awesome person! Took a family member of mine to this bike shop today after visiting another one around apex, and definitely found a great place to start doing business with. Little kids outside picking out bikes that are AFFORDABLE. My family member was specifically autistic disabled and he treated him just like any other person, took his time with him & was very nice! **unlike some of the other stores we visited throughout the day.... He ended up purchasing an antique tricycle that was for sale inside the shop. Got a couple freebies while in there talking. Its nice to find someone who takes pride in their work and just there to help people out doing what they love. He knows his stuff & we will be back. Thank you so much for helping us today!
Outstanding timely professional service.
I used their service once and I am done. They are very unprofessional.
Great knowledgeable local shop.
Great place to get a quality bike for your kid!
Great place
Z. is a down to earth business man. Always willing to help when your in a bind and gives the best prices possible. He sponsors Team Local Legend BMX and provide years of knowledge and great stories.
Owner and operator Z is a great guy and super helpful.
Great place and service
At Apex Bike Shop, the guy you talk to is the guy who fixes your bike. Z knows bikes, how to ride them (a former competitive BMX and MTB rider) and how to maintain them. He fixes only what needs to be fixed. After a tune-up, my 25-year-old Cannondale M600 rode perfectly..
Great guy. Great work. Even got it done overnight when I was in a bind.
Fantastic knowledgeable owner. Adjusted our sons bike and sent us on our way free of charge... def going back!!
Owner is very personable and accommodating.
Best Bike shop in the Area! New or used + great consultation on all equipment decisions.
Took a bike by the shop 10 minutes before closing expecting to have to leave it. Needed to replace the chain & didn’t have the tools. “Z” went ahead & popped It on for me while I waited. Took 5 minutes for the repair, but we spent another 15 talking about vintage audio equipment.
Top notch!!
Owner Z is knowledgeable and this business has the unique soul of an owner/operator run shop that is severely lacking in corporate chains.
Great work.
Z is a outstanding bicycle repairman.
Best service and price....
Great shop
Sucks
A bit expensive the bikes
