It was my first visit and Im very impressed. The books are in great condition and prices are reasonable. But the best part is the ambiance and staff. The girl working there is supper nice and helpful. Definitely will return.

My wonderful boyfriend took me to All Booked Up on August 20, 2016 for my birthday present; I was given the most amazing gift of being able to pick out any books I wanted. Best birthday gift ever!I immediately fell in love with All Booked Up. The wonderful owner of the store was there and she was so helpful! Kind, welcoming, funny and just great. She pointed me in the right direction of the type of book Im into right now and actually went above and beyond my expectations. Almost done with one of the nine books I got yesterday, and I already cannot wait to go back for more.Highly highly highly recommend this book store! Theres nothing better to me than a used book, and All Booked Up is definitely my new go to spot!

A English Teacher and self described book junkie. I was smitten with All Booked Up the first time I stepped into this amazing down home cozy bookstore. The owner Janice has become a great friend with her vast knowledge of genres and love of writers. I have never not found a stack of amazing books. My daughter loves the kids nook and I normally find her with a book rocking in one of the child sized rocking chairs. My mother begs me to take her in to visit when she is in town. My father who is not an avid reader even finds historical books on wars he studies. If I know exactly what book I wish to purchase I can look it up online and make sure it is in stock. I love supporting a local mom entrupenur. Janice has lovingly decorated her dream bookstore, and I am so grateful it brings me downtown weekly which in turn helps other downtown Apex businesses because what is a trip to the bookstore without a stop at Annas for a slice of pizza? That is for another review. Last Halloween I brought my daughter trick or treating and was surprised to find that when Janice saw her mini reader we were given a little book to enjoy. It was lovely!! Being a teacher she has always supported me with a generous discount made sure if I was teaching a certain book that she had used in good condition discounted paperback books. Another perk she continues to uphold is that if you bring back a book with her sticker she gives you more credit.Overall I love walking into All Booked Up and hearing the enthusiastic booming friendly voice of Janice and she always has something she knows I will love, have been waiting for or something my daughter will love . Thank you for being an awesome business owner we need more like you.

Sweet, cozy shop home to all sorts of books for all age groups. I sell my old books or trade them in for store credit here because I know how carefully the owner treats used books, and I am always happy knowing that my old books have a terrific new home!

So my wife and I live in Apex and have patronized this bookstore on a number of occasions. We were impressed with the excellent book selection and its cozy charm. Today, I suggested to a fellow student and Apex resident that she meet me there to check out the place since she had never visited. While there, we figured we would sit and chat for a few minutes at one of the inviting tables before browsing. As we made our way to one of the tables, a miserable lady (presumably the owner) raced after us and said Where do you think youre going? I answered, To sit down for a minute. She said Oh no, not here. Youre in the wrong place. Perhaps you can go down the street to the coffee shop. They deal with people like you. And, if I were you, Id buy some coffee. I restrained myself from responding ignorantly to ignorance and left. This lady deserves no business, and if this is her attitude I fully expect that she is losing money anyway, and sized us up (one black man, one Asian lady) as not having enough money to patronize her. Well, shes at least right about not patronizing her. Shes lost a customer, a fan, and a potential customer. And I want to be sure others are aware of what they are dealing with when they choose to go there. What a sad, sad case!

Anyone who gives this store a positive review is clearly either a friend of the owner or made by their own workers.I went in just like the other one-star reviewer and had the worst experience ever. We took in several hard backs and roughly 20 paper backs to sell to them as they are very close to our home. They told us that they would record all the books we gave them and email us with an offer as they were backed up that day.At home I recieve an email with a whopping offer of... $7... obviously I wanted my books back. I go back to the store to get my books back and they had already shelved them without paying us or checking to see if we would confirm the sale. Not to mention she didnt document the books we brought in. The worker called up the boss who was at the pool (we were standing right next to here and could hear) who said, well youre just going to have to tell them thats how it is.We are avid book lovers and shop at used book stores all over NC and this is by far the worst place weve ever been to. Not only was this experience stupid and completely avoidable but they never have any of the popular used books that wed be able to find at any other used book store (and HAVE). One more person not shopping here again, hope you find yourself a better book store as well.

Im not aware of any used book store that gives more than a few dollars (cash v. store credit) for a recently published book. ABU is very selective about the books they buy. Look around the store.....do you see any waterlogged romances? Kids books that have been colored in? Jackie Collins titles from the 80s? If you want to buy a used book in fantastic condition, youve come to the right place. How exactly can ABU do this? By purchasing only current, in demand titles. Sadly, few customers want hardcover books published before 2013 - they can download them onto Kindles for less money! As another reviewer said - take your old, damaged books to Goodwill. This store offers generous store credit for your CURRENT books in great condition

Ive been consistently impressed by not only the base store, staff, and selection of this store but also the consistent modifications being made to the selection. Been going there for 6 months now and never had a problem. Often Im invited to stay for some time to just peruse and see whats new.The charm of the place is undeniable, and I keep thinking that if I ever have a mini library in my house, Id like the room itd be housed in to look like this store. The staff are immensely helpful, knowledgable, and kind in helping this eccentric find the books Im looking for.I come back again and again from Fuquay Varina for the same reason...this is the best used book store Ive ever been in.

Very cozy little shop and personable, accommodating staff. The only con, in my eyes, is that its too small to host a book signing for local authors.

Responding to LaMonts review, I have been an employee of All Booked Up since its opening in 2009, I was aware of this particular incident and myself and my boss have flagged his review. This is NOT what happened at all and his story is an outright fabrication of events. When LaMont and his friend came into the store, they bypassed the owner without saying anything or asking if we offer areas for public use and simply started setting up on the table in the kitchen. This area and the adjoining room are rented out to a massage therapist and is not for public use. We do not offer any wifi service due to the restrictions from her banking company for the safety of our credit card customers. She asked them very politely what they were doing and was told they were working on a project. At that point the owner simply told them her store was not equipped nor do we offer any such place to do a project. Its a bookstore and a business first and foremost. She offered them the directions to the coffee shop down the street that may meet their needs for wifi and private area! It was expressed to me she felt bad about the encounter but with the other bookstores going out of business I know shes only doing whats best for her renter, and the customers this couple would have interrupted while shopping in the cook book area. We are sorry LaMont had a bad experience however if he and his friend would have simply acknowledged my boss and asked her if they could make themselves at home she would have directed them again to a more suitable setting than her private kitchen.
