The menu here is great and had a lot of very unique options. However, it seemed execution was lacking a bit. Our burger was far overcooked and the mac n cheese on top was very dry. The pulled pork/Mexican street corn quesadilla was lacking flavor a bit. Both items seemed as if maybe there was new staff? Dont get me wrong the food was good, and we would try again! It just seems like they are just slightly missing the mark on being excellent.
We have had good service on multiple visits and nearly perfect food. We love the freshness of the food obtained as locally as possible.... pleased with the salad choices. The yellow fin tuna with pesto dressing is excellent as well as the chicken bacon ranch salad. Four stars only because perfection is rare. Wish I could do 4.5 tho...
My friend and I split the bacon poppers. They were good. She had the Tenacious Tuna with sweet potato planks it was a huge sandwich and lots of planks for $12.50. She said it was perfectly seasoned and so good! I had the Wacky Mac burger. My burger was cooked and seasoned perfectly and topped with baked macaroni and cheese, cheddar Cheese, and bacon with a side salad. It was a huge salad and wonderful burger for $12.50. They had so many options for side, huge portions, and friendly employees. Definitely recommend stopping in!

The idea of a independent burger place and everything made fresh sounded great, but when my food arrived I was dissapppointed. The bacon on my burger was under cooked and almost all fat so I removed it and the fries were very under cooked. The waitress took a little longer then she probably should have to check with me to see how my meal was so instead of taking her up on the offer for a different side I asked that they be removed from my bill. Seemed to be enough people working and wasnt that busy...Was hoping for a better experience.
Prices on food are mostly reasonable, lately the portion sizes seem to have gone down though. Only food item I’d avoid is the pizza. Great environment though, not too loud, lots to do. Lots of good food items. Never had a bad experience with the staff.
Fried cheese curds were great, but the burgers were a huge disappointment. They seemed to be on the small side and over priced because of that. At their prices it should have been fabulous, but fell way short of that.
My family had a great experience at the Mad Apple this weekend! We stayed at the hotel next door so we stopped over 4 times and not only was the food great but the service was fantastic! Highly recommended stopping over for a meal or just grab a beer and play a game of pool in there large pool hall. We will definitely stop back on our next trip!
I shopped around locally and online, but when it came down to it I wanted a personal experience. Mad Apple was not only the best price but also the most professional. I wanted a custom 8 ft Wisconsin Badger table! M.H. Penglase is the pro shop manager and he teamed up with Mason ( 2021 CSI BCA world 9 ball champion 👏) to install my pool table. Im so honored to have them build my badger table! Ive never played on such an amazing table, best ever!!!
This is one of the best experiences I had in Wisconsin. Great drinks and prices. My wife had a Turkey Club. Side story: she ordered it without apples, but came with them. So 4 ☆. She loved it with the apples so much. After meal we walked ten feet and played pool for an hour. Great experience. We will come back, or when you open in Minnesota we will be there. 😉 thanks.
This place has it all. Tons of tables and other goodies at fair prices. I stayed at the hotel that is next to this establishment and they had coupons for this restaurant for breakfast. Food was really hot, fresh and receive rather quickly. The assistant manager made our visit very special. My kids wont stop talking about our visit there.
Mad Apple has great burgers. We like there fresh garlic parmesan chips with nacho cheese dip is amazing! Highly recommend this combo !
Currently 3 stars. Seems like others had better experience with food, but my experience wasnt the greatest. The bread was a bit on the crunchy side, and the fries were cold when they came to the table. Ill be going again and update the review.
I went here for my daughters birthday and we had so much fun. The food was excellent the prices were good we brought food home we played pool for a couple of hours it was just a good time all the way around.

We were seated right away, there were plenty of servers and was not busy at all there were people at the bar and one other table with people, we did not get asked for drinks or food for over 15 minutes while we watched the servers go around talking to everyone not serving. We ended up leaving after realizing we probably were not going to get even a glass of water. Looked like a good place to eat but unfortunately if your not going to get service kind of pointless of going. And this was a Tuesday around 7pm.
Fathers Day delight! We all got something different (amazing burgers, wraps, side sampler platter & adult beverages). Everything was delish! They are under staffed & was very apologetic up front that there would be a wait. So we played a family game of billiards! It was a perfect way to spend our wait. Server was wonderful!
What do I like best about this place?Leaving it.Wanted to like it but just cant. No attention to detail whatsoever. Trashy looking menus, tables and walls. Service left something to get desired BIG time. Not good.

Very nicely spread out pool tables and airy rooms. Though the dining area features an oval bar, seating is still very private with the way columns are set up around the bar. Pool tables were $8 per hour when I went. We played for two hours and everyone enjoyed a delicious drink.
Our food was so good!! I had the Nut Job and I cannot recommend it enough! If Im ever in this area again I would happily stop back!
I spent all of last weekend at the Mad Apple for a sporting tournament.They are primarily a lunch and dinner spot....but were serving breakfast too the weekend I was there. Its an upbeat spot, with something going on all the time. They have a great, unique menu so whatever youre in the mood for....youll probably find it. The staff was friendly and efficient. The place is clean and the bar has a good tap line. Some of the best items on the menu --in my opinion--are the wings, pizza, any of the wraps, quesadilla sticks, and breakfast skillets. And for a great side.....the sweet potato planks are amazing.
The first time my wife and I came in to Appleton for the weekend we stayed at the Clarion we were pleasantly surprised by the Mad Apple, but displeased with Clarion.The bar service was amazing and we both agreed the bartender was one of the best we’ve met we went back both nights. The whole bar was engaged and the service was outstanding and she sold us on food and drinks.We came back this weekend and stayed at the Hotel just to go back to MAD APPLE. It was a completely different. We were late to get food Saturday but it took so long for the bartender to get us drinks we didn’t get any because kitchen closed. An off duty staff member got up from dining and was trying to help and apologizing but we felt bad for her not us. It wasn’t busy and people waited and waited just for a beer. We paid $14 for 2 beers... but just paid it cause we wanted to leave. We walked in Sunday night and we saw the same guy working and we left.The food is great but the service is A HIT or a terrible miss.
A variety of burgers and sandwiches. Everything is homemade. They also have sales and dinners ( fish and steak). This is where they take pride in their food. You can not go wrong here. Dont let the outside fool you. It is upper end and down to earth pricing.
So I am sitting in the billiards room as I type. 9/4/2021 8:24 pm. I got here at 7:10 pm. Around 7:40 the waiter ask what I needed to drink. He comes back with my coke at 7:50. He gives me a menu and walks away. It is now 8:26 pm and he has yet to take my order. Oh wait. He just did. So lets find out how long this takes. Not promising. Ok. 8:40 my fried curds are out. 14 minutes is not bad. So that means the kitchen knows what theyre doing. Btw I ask for a refill when I got my food and never got it. I am walking out now at 8:56. Pretty good cheese curds. Theyre diamond pool tables are pretty nice.

Food wasnt amazing, they had a pretty big menu and I think that makes it hard for them to consistently create a mouthwatering plate. It was good food though, and a good atmosphere for a pool hall.

The owner is very skilled pool player and always puts on good tournaments for the pool playing community. Running a business this size is not an easy task but they are doing a great job !
I was just at the mad apple for a foosball tournament! It was one of the best venues Ive ever seen. Staff was super awesome and very accommodating. Their setup is top notch theres a streaming booth plus an arcade and pro shop which I think is really cool. Lots of places to play chess and even a full horseshoe court! Had some pretty good times and Im looking forward to the next one!
Awesome bartender, Pam with two Ms. Very conversational and welcome to out of towners and locals alike. Had the chips and salsa which tasted like legit Mexican restaurant chips and salsa 👍
Quick service, friendly staff, tasty food, and clean all throughout (minus the section that was under construction for expansion). My family really enjoyed our time there as we went to celebrate my brothers birthday with a meal and some pool. They have weekly tournaments on Friday nights, but make sure there are two pool tables open for non competitors to play at. There are also some arcade games, a Foosball table, and a bar available. I would totally recommend this place for a group (I also recommend the cheese curds to anyone who goes). The only negative thing I have to say is that at least the food my family got was a touch on the salty side. Otherwise, fantastic place.

First time here i took my husband and kids here for Fathers day....food was good but the service....HORRIBLE! Our family of 5 was sat at a booth meant for 2 maybe 4 people. Then it took our server about 20 minutes to greet us. We received our order without silverware or napkins, my husband asked for something after we got our food and the server never came back. I had to ask a different waitress for silverware and napkins for my family. She finally returned 20 mins after giving us our meal, and just asked if she could clear anything away. Bad experience for a Fathers day.
Ordered online and went to pick up. Got home and several items of our order were missing. Called restaurant and they took care of everything. They were genuinely sorry and helped remedy situation. Very grateful for such good response.
My review history is mostly positive because bad feedback should respectfully to go back to the business directly. When they wont listen and instead provide an argumentative litany of excuses then any new potential customers deserve a warning! My favorite part of the conversation with the owner was If it wasnt so expensive to get good help, then she would have been fired long ago. The service was as bad as I have ever seen and I cant comment on the food because nobody took our order. The two bartenders were fantastic but the wait staff was terrible. This is a great place to play pool but dont expect food or drinks unless you walk to the bar. Multiple waitresses (2 shifts) ruined my business event.
Mad Apple is one of my favorite places. Ive never eaten anything here I didnt enjoy. Well, aside from their barbeque sauce, but not a big issue, since their food is amazing. Greatest steak for your buck, right here. Such a great variety of creative foods. Mad Apple is always a good choice.

Greetings and customer service is not their strong point. Food is great but people service ZERO. Yes thank you for saying you’d take 10% off bill but then never give a bill just a total cost 😳 so couldn’t see if you kept to your word. If someone is sitting at the table, waitress should stop and ask regardless. No excuse! Customer service is what brings people back. This was our second visit and I don’t need to go back because I’m about customer service. I’ll try again but third time is make it or break it. No excuse for not waiting on tables .

Most of the food we got was not good. Ordered was: The mad apple burger, the Cajun burger, garlic asparagus and fries. A few other things were alright but not much out of the meal there was another burger a mushroom Swiss and cheese curds which was all that was really good. The fries were were small and badly cooked. The waiters/waitresses did not check on us often, forgot things, and others came to us. I would not recommend coming here if you want something good other than a game of pool
I met my nephews here for a drink and a game. These are ny FAR the best tables I have played on in years! Great cloth for English, nice and fast, perfect rails. We had a great time friendly staff, good drinks. Food smelled great but already ate.
Great food and the tournaments are a lot of fun. So many knowledgeable players willing to teach, you do not find this in many pool halls. Tournaments: Monday 9-Ball, Friday 10-Ball, Sunday 8-Ball. You get an hour of practice/warm-up included before every tournament. Always have a great time at this establishment.
Food was well prepared and the bartender Jake was knowledgeable about their specialty beers. He recommend beers that were both delicious and reasonably priced! They must have gotten a new chef, because the food was a night and day difference from the last time we visited.

Service was great, our server let us know that thered be a 45-60 minute wait since the kitchen just started making food for a group of 30+ when we sat down. Atmosphere is good. They source a lot of their food locally and its all homemade. Tried the poutine (amazing!) for an appetizer. I had the chicken bacon ranch wrap which was really good and mac and cheese for the side (very savory and rich) while my significant other had a bison breakfast burger on a pretzel bun with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy (again amazing). Food did need a little salt to add some flavor and s.o. said the burger was pretty bland, but overall really good. Will be back.

Best billiard in town with some fantastic atmosphere and astonishingly good food. If youre looking for a late-night hangout without getting too shady or too uptight, this is the prime place to be. The tables are in excellent quality, the place is clean, the food and drink is cheap, and hey-- free shuffleboard.
You don’t have to play billiards to enjoy the food. My wife and I joined our friends here for lunch and we were all pleased with our decision, and food selection. We sat in a booth open on both ends in the somewhat large dining area that included a bar. The back room contained pool tables and high top tables along the wall. Even beyond the pool tables was another room that could be set up for private dining or other events such as receptions and parties. Back to dining...the menu included appetizers, burgers (beef, bison, elk, venison), sandwiches and wraps, a good variety of sides, salads, and steaks, plus items for kids. I ordered the Mad Apple burger with the bbq sauce on the side. The burger was quite tall but I managed to consume it anyway. The trick was to not let go of it once I had it in my hand. The side order of hand cut fries was good too and I ate every last one. If you want a healthier fare, there are some items as well so I recommend checking out their menu online. The font used on the menu mimicked the font used for the business name and was not the easiest to read. While it may have been cute to use it throughout their menu, they neglected to realize It is far from being one of the easier to read fonts like Georgia or Arial. Outside of this marketing blunder, my group enjoyed the dining experience including the very friendly staff. Lastly, if you are a billiard player and need your cue stick fixed, there is also a store within that take care of all of your billiard needs including a new table and stick repairs.UPDATE:6 months later we returned for breakfast. We started out with some Bloody Mary’s and a craft beer chaser. Excellent tasty beverage at a reasonable price. We followed up with a build your own plate where I chose my two eggs easy over, 2 slices of thick bacon (I received 3), breakfast potatoes, and 1 slice of thick French toast. The menu shows I should have received two slices but one was plenty. The bread, including hamburger buns, is homemade, fresh, and thickly dense. It was very filling. Two slices would have put me over the edge. My bride had the pancakes with two patties of the HOMEMADE sausage. This place is another of Appleton’s undiscovered secrets. Remember this place if you want breakfast! Skip Denny’s and IHOP. They are not even close. And the staff is still extremely friendly and helpful. Lastly, they changed the menu font to one that is easily read. It may not look like your typical breakfast stop but you should put it on your radar. It is on ours.

Billiard pro shop side. The service is good but price gouging. Price tags are taped at the bottom of cues there were two different price tags. When I peeled first layer price tag is was cheaper by 10 dollars. The seller did offer if I didn’t see what I like it can be ordered. Msrp in his book was cheaper then the asking price. Most of their cues are not straight. Only thing I’ll probably stop in is for cue tip services.

Was my first time there. Its a bar with a restaurant in it so its loud with music and people talking. The food is very good but the prices are a little high. The service wasnt the greatest but like I said the food was good.

I love their bison burgers! Seriously it sounds weird but they are by far the best burgers Ive ever eaten. It doesnt taste weird or gamey, just absolutely delicious.

My wife and I stayed at the clarion for a night and recieved a coupon for the Mad Apple, it was unbelievable, the salmon BLT was the best sandwich Ive ever had and the blackened tuna sandwich was equally as good. We will be returning next weekend. Its a 30 minute drive but the staff made our time there well worth it!
I was a fan of them until I ordered a to go order and didnt get ice cream for my apple crunch desert and I got a bun not a bread bowl for my soup when I ordered a bread bowl. Not impressed that I paid this when on the website its described as something its not. Wouldve never ordered a bread bowl if I knew this was what I was going to get. And with the desert I ordered I now have to go buy ice cream for my brown sugar and apples. Like I said not sure why I paid for something that was half of what was stated on The descriptions. This is my 3rd experience with them and I wasnt impressed by this visit or the last one.

We both got great, well cooked food.We tried the peanut butter burger, that was amazingI got the philly cheese steak. also amazing.We also agreed it was the best salsa we have had, from anywhere, it was Fire roasted garlic.service was very fast today.Big thank you to the owner for reaching out after my last experience here.Its not often you have an owner/business genuinely care about each individuals experience and make sure you have a good one.Today was a great one, pretty quick, comfortable and we had a very good server as well.I cant wait to come back and try some other things we seen on the menu that sounded delicious as well.
Had a house burger had no taste .after taking off An onion ring.old lettuce.removef bbq sauce.the meat tasted better.Wife had a cheese burger again meat was good .wrong type of bun and french fries were sitting in grease. I did have the sweet patoteo fries they were cut in a mandalyn style there were good.. friendly people.from greater to waitress.i will go back and try them Again

Food was good, but service was horribly slow. Waited over 20 minutes just for drinks. Also waited a long time to pay once we were fine eating. Food came out fast and was tasty.
