I started trying to finish runs of mostly 80s and early 90s pre-Image excess comics I overlooked or couldnt afford as a kid these past few years, and really ramped up my efforts during the Pandemic. Power House has a HUGE collection of ORGANIZED, fairly-priced back issues that helped me fill in some gaps when I stopped by while traveling through for work. Had a really nice conversation with the owner while there, really appreciated his joy of comics! Definitely a 5- star comic shop.

Cute little store with a well organized, decent-sized selection of back issues. Their selection of newer issues and products was lighter than I expected but the person working at the time was nice. The pictures of the front of the store will need to be updated, because someone was painting some good comic book character heads on the white areas framing the front entrance.

PHC is an extraordinary place for comics fans and admirers of all ages! Zach is a comic book genius who sprinkles sage advice about characters and plot lines to customers. Its a best kept secret in the Fox Cities!

The name holds true-- if youre looking for the classics, this place is a legendary archive in comic history, with the staff being its noble protectors and librarians. The staff has a very intricate knowledge in what happens in most of the issues and are happy to dig deep into a conversation about the philosophy of fantasy villains and perfectly imperfect antiheroes. A fascinating trip into a hard-to-find culture!

Good place to get new and used comics

My son was looking for a specific book. Clerk was all about customer service. Got us what we wanted and he talked to us about some other books. Knew his stuff and knew how to guage his audience to make a recommendation.

This was a great experience! Very helpful and offered great recommendations on a couple of books that we were picking up as gifts.

Its a great place where you can get 10 used comics for 5$, and the used comics arent even in that bad shape, just a couple scratches is all. Thats $0.50 for a comic book that would usually cost $5.00! Great comic book store that you should check out!

Im a time when running a brick and mortar comic shop has nearly gone the way of the dodo bird, Power House Comics keeps the tradition alive and well. Zach is very knowledgeable and friendly on everything comics and the shop is well organized. Absolutely recommend you stop in and see what they have to offer.

Absolutely the best comic book shop around. Great selection of books in store, all the regular monthly books from DC, Marvel, and the smaller publishers. The store also has a huge selection of graphic novels and plenty of mature level books as well. In the center of the store there is also a huge selection of back issues from both modern and vintage series.The owner is a great guy, willing to help with recommendations or even just to talk to. If you live in the Appleton area and like comic books, this is the place to be.

Ive been collecting comics for over 4 decades and have visited shops all over the country and have a clue about a quality shop. I cant imagine negative remarks about this place. No shop has everything and Power House has a very broad selection of some very good titles. The staff is always courteous and helpful regardless of whose on shift.

I came in looking for a Christmas present for a friend and as someone who didnt know much about comics I didnt know where to start. The gentleman working the store went above and beyond to dig through things and find specifical story arcs for the characters I was looking for. Couldnt have asked for better service and they made Christmas a success!

Good selection of stuff however the owner was very rude. My fiance was looking through comics and found a couple. He asked if he could open the package to look at it and he said yes. After deciding he wanted it he was looking at one one the wall. He picked it up and looked at it. He was saying how he wanted it as he put it back. He was going to look it up and get an idea of price range. As he was putting it back the owner yells over from the counter For future reference ask me next time. I see it this way. If I ruin it thats on me. But if you do you have to pay for it we were appaled. There was no sign that says ask for assistance or anything. How would we have known. I understand you dont want them ruined but one dont be rude and two how are we to know? My fiance has been collecting comics for years and is very careful with them. He had over $60 worth of comics that we immediately put back and left. We drove out of our way to check this place out and will not be back. The product was good but the guy ruined our experience there. We have been to many comic books stores all over the state and this is the only one we will not return to.

The owner, Zach, will order whatever he doesnt have, and is good at making recommendations. This shop is built for collectors and emphasises single issues, but theres a lot of great variety in the trade paperbacks.

Very conveniently located in downtown Appleton. The manager is always friendly and has a good selection, he also seems to read a lot of Marvel comics I read, and that always makes for good conversation. Their selection is massive and the best you will find in Appleton.

Its a nice comic book store, but the bins are very hard to look through, because theyre all tightly packed and sometimes in hard to reach spaces. The variety is there, but the price is rather high.

My go-to for new releases, and my friends have also had very good luck filling in their collections with back issues here.

The person their was very rude. We seemed to annoyed him for shopping. Was being very careful with the comics, yet kept getting these passive aggressive statements from him about being careful. Will never go back.
