Great outcome, accomplished what it was suppose to do: quiet door operation, closes off air leaks, inhibits bugs and mice. Took only 1 1/2 hr. for a 74 yr. old female. 2 tools necessary; Thanks to Ron at Ace for the encouragement to try this project!

I needed a hacksaw that would cut through steel so I called in advance to be sure that they had the blades designed to cut steel, the person that I spoke with on the phone assured me that all hacksaws come with blades that will cut through steel so assuming that someone that works in a store that specializes in tools would probably know better than I would I took their word for it. I asked the person at the checkout again just to be sure that the one that I picked out would get the job done and they also assured me that it would work fine. About 20 strokes into cutting my couch frame I noticed that the sound of the saw had changed and when I checked the blade the teeth were as smooth as a babys bottom. Moral of the story is that doing your own research is always better than taking a professional for their word.

Usually have what you need in a pinch. Prices are a hair higher than a larger store.Have had some good interactions over the years and some bad. There are/were some employees who speak down to you. To the extent of correcting you because youre using a brand name, versus what the product is called. An example would be Loctite instead of thread locker.Most of the time though, the employees try to understand your project to make sure they help you find the correct parts. Have yet to use the rental department, usually just keys and hardware.They however will not cut a key purchased outside of their store. I understand due to the liability if it damages their equipment and they didnt make any money on the key blank.

Appleton Ace (Northland) is one of those rare businesses where everything is based on customer service. They are amazing. They always have what I need across the board and someone is always available to help me. Really nice people working there. Great prices too. I went to pick up an order that UPS was supposed to deliver to my house for my daughter in which the UPS never came to the house just sent her a message telling her to pick it up at ace hardware. The guy said he couldnt give me the package cuz my last name is different from my daughters, she has my maiden name. I asked if I could call her and he said Idk who you are calling. I understand he was doing his job but he became very ignorant towards me. I texted my daughter to let her know I couldnt get her package so she called me and heard him being very rude and ignorant towards me for no reason. My daughter works past their closing hours and was hoping I could pick up the package. In all reality its the UPS driver fault for being lazy and not actually coming to my house and leaving her a message online. My neighbor had been sitting outside all day and verified UPS did not come to my house. But the ace hardware employee had no reason and no right to treat me the way he did he was rude ignorant and very unprofessional.

I walked in and an associate was there to help me immediately. With his help I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. The checkout line was quick, efficient, and the cashier had a great attitude despite being fairly busy right before close.

Today I made my first great tool purchase...a Milwaukee Cordless drill. This store is packed full of great things. My husband loves Dewalt. I love Milwaukee. Now there can be no mistake whose drill it is! Dont touch my stuff! Lol.

Nice local hardware store with a power tool rental area. Plenty of nuts, bolts, Weber grills, bird seed, paint and supplies. Staff is knowledgeable on where things are located and how to use and/or fix plumbing and electrical issues.

Great place, except for one cashier who thinks she runs the place and shouts at customers from the cash register.

The staff is amazing here! We were greeted by 4 different staff members, offered help with the package we wanted to ship by 3. They helped us prepare the package and gave us the shipping receipt while making comfortable conversation. Any time I need to mail ups I will be going here. We also purchased 2 plants and the staff helped to make sure they wouldnt make a mess in our car. LOVED THIS PLACE! We will definitely be back!

I stopped by to see if they could cut a chip car key that I bought online. They could not do it with their system, as well as every other place I called to check. After I called around, I decided to just buy a key directly from them and be done with it. So they looked up my car, got the key and chip it says to use in their system, cut the key and we went out to my car to program the chip. The employee tries for 30 minutes, but something is not working. A second employee jumps in to help who has a little more experience. After trying the key a couple times he realizes it may be the type of key (although according to the information available, should have worked) that was cut. He cuts the other type (that their system said was basically identical) and programs the chip. It worked! Apparently some cars insist on using old formats of keys, and can be difficult. Aka, my car :) A truly amazing employee saved me from having to go to another place to get a key cut. On top of that, they gave me a $20 discount since it took them a bit to figure out the key situation. The employees here will go the extra mile to make your experience wonderful. I highly recommend!

This is the best place to go if you have a problem to solve or if you would like some expert advice on home improvement projects. Everytime I walk in I am asked if I need help and the service is always stellar. They carry a wide variety of products. While they do not have the depth or ultra cheap products of a big box the service is much above the service I get at the big boxes. I love the neighborhood feel of the place and will continue supporting this local gem that has helped me thoughtfully sort through options for repairing or improving our home.

Great hardware store with just about everything you need. Prices are reasonable, and a good variety of various types of items. Definitely smaller than the larger home improvement stores, but they have almost everything youd need. Also, a very nice selection of various bird foods including fill your own bags.

Such friendly people work here! I always feel that Im getting expert information. If I ask somebody a question and they are unsure of the answer, they will go and find the answer. I have also had them offer to special order items that are no longer in stock and out of season. Exceptional customer service!

My first choice for a hardware need. They are locally owned and bend over backwards to help you. I much prefer Ace over three big box stores. I have not stumped any of the Ace employees with a question. Make sure you join their Ace Rewards club. Well worth it.

I have to share the positive experience I just had at this store, due in large part to a very knowledgable and dedicated employee named Alan. I had lost a part to something, and figured if anyone would carry a replacement, it would be Ace. However, it was something so custom that replacements arent made. That didnt stop Alan from creating a solution for me by inventing a part. He found multiple little things that all together did what was needed. He even customized it in the shop in the back of the store. This is going above and beyond! Thank you Alan and Ace Hardware!!

They are always helpful and friendly. Only gave them a 4 today because I had to wait a bit for UPS service. I was behind someone who was getting keys made. I like that they offer both of those services.

Had an excellent experience.I recommend this store because of the amazing customer service. I came in with a canvas that needed to be fixed, and the staff was so kind and helpful. They did the repair right in shop and took the time to make sure it was done correctly. This employee was very knowledgeable and took the time to help me out, rather then just giving me the supplies and sending me on my way.

Alan helped me with a UPS pickup today. Ive been here once before during the holidays for a pickup as well. Im always impressed and very grateful with the prompt speed im greeted and assisted, even if im just here for mail.All the packages Ive picked up from here have been taken care of with the utmost priority and care! Absolutely love our local Ace Hardware and everyone is so very helpful and friendly always... Tonight I purchased a 50# bucket of Ice melt as I do every year and Nat the cashier was so helpful in helping to get off the plastic sealed ring and open it up so I didnt have to struggle with it at home.. I did initially ask for a gentleman to help me with it but she took it on with no hesitation.. It may have took a box cutter, and pliers and alot of her muscle but she got it..Thanks for all your help ..This is the customer service I love about our small local hardware store, over the big box stores...

Beware- do NOT use UPS shipping serviceI brought in a pre-labeled box to ship, paid the UPS shipping and a handling fee, only to find out the ACE employee put on a DIFFERENT address than what I had. Why? No one seems to know. This resulted in 2 weeks of calls between Ace, UPS and the intended recipient of the package trying to locate the pkg and get it to her. Ultimately, the pkg ended up being returned to me and we got to try again. The package was finally received this week. ACE offered me nothing to compensate for this ordeal, and acted as though they were doing me a favor by reshipping it and not charging me twice. Seriously? Oh, and did I mention the package was also damaged by UPS in the process? And I received no compensation for that either. Never again- stay away from UPS and this ACE UPS shipping location. Its not worth the hassle.
