Yup, Danny & his side-kicks are the best of the best! Very service oriented, quick turn-around and reasonably priced. Always my first choice for anything bike related. Danny make my world a better place for sure.

On a recent trip to the central coast for some trail riding. I had some unexpected repairs needed on my mountain bike. Called the bike shop and they were able to help me. I scheduled a time to drop off my bike. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Talked with the owner Dan (maybe Danny) and it turns out he rides and recommended some trails. I would totally recommend them to anyone on a road trip or anyone who lives locally.

Well I dont know I thought they had great service and a great attitude but if their playing Stevie Ray Vaughan in the shop they just won a customer for life as far as I am concerned!.... All kidding aside heres the difference... I went to a different local bike shop to have my derailleur adjusted they wanted to charge me a $135 and leave it for several days! I took it to the village bike shop the guys wheeled it into the shop spent about 5 minutes adjusting it and didnt want to charge me a thing! I appreciated that very much to say the least! because of that type of customer service they truly did win a customer for life! I was happy to tip them 20 bucks and be on my way! They will be my first choice from now on!

Very honest shop. I took in an old hub from 1985 and they could have sold me parts, but explained how I could work with what I had and restore it without selling me parts. They have much more experience that I do and I respect their advice.

I spoke with someone(male) this morning on the phone about availability of tires in the shop. I had a wonderful back and forth with the gentleman about my inner tube needs. He said he had my inner tubes in stock.Around 1:30 my husband went to the shop to buy the inner tubes. He was met with a young man who seemed uncertain of the correct size....but more importantly my husband asked him to put on a mask while they were discussing. The young man refused. My husband pressed him with the protocols that need to be followed in CA still he refused. My husband is in a vulnerable group re covid, but regardless of that, shouldnt a business serving the public comply with a customers reasonable request especially when it threatens health and safety. This bike shop has always been our go to spot and beloved by many....My husband left the shop empty handed. We want to support local businesses...but this forces us to abandon that desire.I am puzzled by this behavior...Is this the bike shops stand on masks...?We cant go back if so.

Ever since Danny has taken over, Ira’s has been a welcoming and enjoyable experience. Danny is knowledgeable about bikes, willing to help, and very personable. I thought I was going to need a bunch of equipment like a new deraileur, but Danny was able to make some adjustments and get me back on the road. Thanks for your help Danny. Keep up the good work.

Super sweet shop! I recently found a second hand bike that needed a little TLC, Danny, the owner of Village Bike Shop (who bought the place in 2018) helped me out with a new wheel and tube at a better price than I could find online! He had it in stock and even installed it and wouldnt let me pay for the labor because he enjoyed talking to my precocious nephew while we were in his shop...SOOOO Old School! GREAT service! Support your local bike shop! :)

Horrible experience. They say they tune and inspect bikes but they dont. 75 dollars later and a second bike shop later for 45 dollars and I got to ride 80 feet. When they say, they tune and inspect the bikes, they dont. They just spray degreaser on them and spray it with a water hose. Very unhappy

A nice little bike shop with an impressive range of bikes available for the limited floorspace. Lots of vintage bikes mixed with modern fare. Prices were very reasonable and the owner was friendly and helpful without being pushy.

This is the epitome of a neighbourhood bike shop. Danny (the new owner as of 2018) has the awesome goal of getting kids off their phones / video games and out riding bikes again! The price was very competitive vs. other local (more commercialised) bike shops and the work he did on my Specialized Alllez was top notch. He also gave me some good info on local cycling clubs. Take your bikes here to help this neighborhood bike shop get back to its hay-day of the 70s & 80s!

Horrible customer service. The girl that works there is rude and disrespectful. Unless you want to be treated horrible I would not recommend going here. Whoever owns it now needs to do better management. This place has gone completely downhill. It is sad. Used to be a great business but not recently.

While on a tour I stopped in and asked if I could get my tire pressure checked. The female there really didnt want to do it even tho shed said yes. Hey chick - you dont check pressure of tires with your fingers (and then lie and say theyre fine), you do it with a gauge! Good luck to all who enter.

I went there to see how much it would cost to fix my bike vs buying a new one. First of all the young guy that was there didnt seem very helpful and laughed at me when i said i got my bike from Costco. I still left my bike there for a estimate and they called the next day and said the bike wasnt worth fixing. I took it to a bike shop in Orcutt the next day, they fixed it up for under $50. and it works great. I will be going back to that bike shop when its time to make the upgrade.

I met Ira in 1990 through a friend of his. I was 18yrs old and a long ways from my home in Vonore, Tn. I was working and seeing the country staying with Jim Dotson at the time. Im very sad to learn just now of Iras passing 5-4-17. Ira, Brent, Tim and I use to have a really good time drinking beer after a hard days work in the back of Iras bike shop. On tap beer from a mug with Ira and friends kept me from going nuts from missing home. We had a lot of good laughs.I only knew ira & friends for a month before returning home in Tennessee, but they made me feel like part of their family, What times we shared laughing and joking in the back of the bike shop after closing time. To Iras family; Im so sorry for your loss...I know Ira is in a better place still laughing & joking. Jimmy D.

I stopped at IRAs Bike Shop, early Saturday morning May 2, 2015 with a flat. I thought the proprietor was IRA but now I see IRA passed away four years ago. The person that now runs the shop (name?) is a gem.. He graciously acknowledged me and put down what he was working on to diagnose the etiology of the flat---Cactus needles. A new tire and inner tube was required. He did that in short order and charged me only $30! What super person! If I lived in San Luis Obispo, IRAs Bike Shop would my first choice. If I ever get back there from Iowa, I guarantee I will go into IRAs for something. SLO you are lucky to have such a forthright hard working person in your midst. Glenn I. Maze, Coralville, IA
