Those of you who read my commentary know that no one PAYS or GIVES me anything for my reviews. So, here I go....I accidentally ended up at The Bicycle Shack. I was supposed to go to a different one that day but lost the directions.. When I walked in, all I saw was a sea of bicycles of all shapes, sizes and models waiting to be repaired or picked up by their owners. To me that was a good sign. Immediately Alex and Brian(owners/repair guys)waved with a friendly welcome. I wheeled in my vintage 96 Specialized mountain bike just to see if I could get my back tire filled with air. Brian quickly picked it up and put it onto the inspection thingy to have a look. All the while, he was verbally sharing with me everything I didnt know about my bike and checking it out pretty much head to toe to see what needed what.I was super impressed with his knowledge and his genuine friendliness.! Meanwhile Alex would pop around the corner quickly to answer the phone(which seemed to never stop ringing)and check on guests bike repairs. This shop is über busy, I thought. As Brian was continuing with my bike, three guests came in to peruse accessories. Alex happily continued his multitasking and helped these peeps out.Brian told me a funny story about how my exact model was in an episode or two of Seinfeld. That was kind of cool information to have..!Within what seemed like only a few minutes, my bike was ready. He also spent the time to find things that could be fixed down the road and put them into the computer along with my personal information. I felt as though I were a part of their family!!In this day and age its truly rare to find this top of the line service that The Bicycle Shack provides. This time I was so happy to have lost the other companies info!!!Thanks guys and I cant wait for you to get my bike in tip top shape!!#NothinButSnaps!!
Worth the wait!! After working with the staff at The Bicycle Shack, I can see why they’re so busy. Before I found The Bicycle Shack, I had an appointment at another shop for a tune-up. I took the bike in the week prior for them to look it over and was so unimpressed with the service that I canceled the tune-up and went looking for another bike shop. I spoke with Paul on the phone and he had mentioned that they would not be able to do the work for about a month, but they were so professional, friendly, and knowledgeable that it was worth it to me. They received my bike when they opened at 9 and they were finished with it before 1. The bike looks great!! I haven’t had a chance to ride it yet, but given their knowledge and high level of service, I’m sure it will be perfect. The Bicycle Shack has top-notch staff and I would definitely recommend taking your bike here first!
I love this shop. Been using this as my go to bike repair shop for 5+ years now and they never let me down. Always helpful with advice and maintenance and there prices keep me coming back. Today Paul helped me with a non standard hub situation and I was very happy with the result. I continue to use this shop and recommend it to my friends.
Hands down some of the very best customer service I’ve ever received at a shop. Alex, Paul, and Brian are some of the most genuine, kind, and down to earth people you’ll ever meet. It’s so enjoyable to bring my business to a store that puts people first and backs up their work with solid expertise. I have recommended this shop over and over to my riding buds and people who either need to buy a new ride or service their current one.A true A+ for an incredibly well done bike shop and authentically good human beings.
Awesome experience! I dropped by in hopes that someone might be able to check out my bike. Within minutes, my bike was checked out and I was back on my way. Im so happy that I now know about this great local bike shop. Be sure to stop by for bike repair - youll be glad you did.
Took my bike wheel in for a gnarly bend. The cost was only $15 opposed to other shops I inquired about which was $30. Ultimately they werent able to make it perfect, but sufficiently rideable for another few years, and didnt charge me for it.
I really like being helped with friendly, knowledgeable down to earth people. He spent time explaining how to fit a bicycle to the rider. I highly recommend them!!!
I have never received such amazing service as I did at the Bicycle Shack. Every time I brought in my bike to be serviced, it was fixed immediately! I certainly did not expect that! You can tell they really care about their customers. They are extremely friendly and professional. Thank you for everything!
I took my bike to The Bicycle Shack and was very pleased with the service. When I brought the bike in to be fixed they were very helpful in outlining my options and once I got it back it was in absolute perfect shape. This is the place to go in Arvada for all of your biking needs. Very kind and professional staff.
Excellent service. Always happy to be helped out here.
Super nice guys willing to shoot you straight and tailor pricing for exactly what you need.
Clearly didnt need any more customers. Unwilling to assist in a time of need. Id suggest any other bike service store! Your customers needs are essential TBS! TRY TREATING THEM AS ESSENTIAL!
Always nice & took care of my bike in fast time. Great place
Great store!I’ve been into the store multiple times. This time it was late Friday afternoon and I needed to get my bike fixed for the weekend. I dropped it off and returned an hour later. It was fixed.
I stopped in on a busy Saturday afternoon. Alex not only skillfully took care of my minor repair, he did it with such ease and kindness. He has my business for life.
These guys are really friendly. My front derailleur was out of commission so I came in for a tune up, but they were booked until the end of the month. I explained how I couldn’t go without transportation for that long, so they made some minor adjustments and got me up and running in 5 minutes free of charge and scheduled me for the first available date. Also left with a really cool headlight. Thanks for all the help Alex!
My husband and I bought our bikes here last year. The staff was amazing. I could not say enough great things about the staff. They explained everything to us very patiently and then followed up on our purchase. Then we went in for a small repair recently and the customer service was just amazing as usual. Highly recommend.
These guys are amazing. We bought our new bikes from them and they were patient in explaining the difference in all the bikes they sold and even let us ride the ones we thought of buying around the neighborhood by the shop before buying them. They also helped me fix my bike when I had issues installing peddles free of charge. Great shop and I would highly recommend them.
Very helpful and friendly.
I took my bike in for a flat tire, As I was walking out he noticed a flat tire in the front but the bike needed a new tube, so he fixed it( and he charged me). I brought my bike up to the mountains for vacation, the back tire is completely busted, and I can’t use it. I was charged $70. Completely unacceptable. They had my bike for over three weeks...
Updating review. Brian and Alex put care and love into their business and customers. Both new and old.
Honest, friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Highly recommend for all bicycle needs.
These guys are the best! Everytime I go in I receive the best help. They are truly customer oriented because they take time to listen to your questions and respond knowledgeably. They are really friendly and definitely care about their work product.
I get the friendliest and most competent bicycle repair service here, they are my favorite bicycle shop! Whenever they can, they try to get me back on the road within a few minutes, all fixed up!
I am from CA. I am visiting my friend who lives in Arvada, CO. I had just finished riding my bike, and driving back to my friends house. When my bike fell off my bike rack on to the street doing 40 mph. I took to the Bicycle Shack and one of the owners was nice enough to look and it and tell me what he saw. I would of gotten it fixed there, but I was in town for only a week, and he was very busy, and could not deal with it.I thank you, for the time you spent looking at it. I would recommend these shop to everyone.
Awesome and friendly staff. I rolled in mid-ride with a busted chain and they had me back on the toad in no time. Clean, well stocked shop - definitely worth a visit!
Havent bought a bike from them but have used them a few times for light service and theyve been great. Recently I needed a new front brake for my old bike. They did a good job and I was happy with the price I paid. Its nice to have a local shop so close to my house.
I recently purchased a used road bike from the Bicycle Shack. I was able to find an excellent bike in good condition for a fair price. The guy who helped me out was very knowledgeable of makes and models, and focused on finding the right fit for me. He did a once over on the bike, and was very clear that I was purchasing the bike as is. He offered to throw in some peddles and encouraged me to bring in my old bike to see if it had any value for a credit. I will definitely be using these guys for tune ups; and I have already recommended the Bike Shack to multiple people looking to purchase quality used bikes.
I recently purchased a full suspension mountain bike (NORCO Fluid 9.1) from The Bicycle Shack. The staff was friendly (its a smaller shop which is what I like), knowledgeable and I found a great deal on a bike that I love. Nancy, Rob and Paul went out of their way to get the bike right where I wanted it and I definitely got more than I bargained for. There are a few good bike shops in the greater Denver area but keep this shop in mind. I did my research and here is where I found the best deal. Ill definitely come here first for my future needs.
Friendly, knowledgeable team. Fixed my flat mountain bike tire on the spot in minutes - at a fair price. I definitely found a cycling shop in Arvada!
Very pleased with quick, friendly, and reasonably-priced service. (Brakes adjusted quickly and for a reasonable price, with no attempts to up-sell me.) Will certainly be back for other repair and maintenance issues.
Was a loyal customer to a shop in Wheatridge until I found the Bicycle Shack. These guys are amazing! Alex built me a cost effective wheel set for my Cannondale, held my hand the whole way, and updated me regularly on the progress. A great customer service experience and even better result with the outcome of my bike! Ill be the one shedding past you on his new 27.5 wheel set all thanks to the Bicycle Shack! See you on the trail! Dont be jelly!
Absolute superb customer service experience and honesty. Despite not being there for a purchase, the owner serviced my own 2 bicycles personally and got my kids back riding in no time with nothing more or less than it was needed. Highly recommended for all your needs!
I went into the Bicycle Shack yesterday to ask them to look at a long-standing problem with my bike. They put it right up on the stand and got to work. Twenty minutes, after explaining everything to me, my bike was ready to go. The service fee was overwhelmingly fair. I now have a new bike shop. These guys are outstanding.
Extremely friendly. Took time to get to know my name. No pretense. Good bike tunes and they explain everything and dont force you into gear you dont need.
I ordered a full SRAM Red component upgrade for my 2010 BMC road bike: parts and installation. When I picked up the bike, they assured me that everything was adjusted and dialed in and ready to ride. The next day during the first ride, the rear derailleur was skipping all over and wouldnt hold the middle cogs and was noisy, and the first time i shifted the front derailleur from the little ring to the big ring, the chain fell off. It was obvious that the shop never checked or adjusted shifting.Had to bring it back for adjustment the following day, after which it worked fine (proof that they didnt adjust correctly the first time.)I also ordered specific bar tape with components 1.5 weeks prior to the install, and the owner emailed sorry, we cant get that tape. I then asked them again when i dropped off the bike for install, and got the same response. I ended up having to go buy the tape at another shop and drop it off. Spent $3400 on the project, and the shop couldnt be bothered to get the correct tape.Ive been riding for 25 years, and have dealt with other shops who really prioritize service and would have made the effort. Not impressed and wont be back...
I Was very happy that l was able to fixed my 5yr old bike here instead of getting a new one.
I Went to a different bike store who told me my brand new hub was defective and had to be sent out for warranty. Im going to Moab in 2 days and dont have time so they quoted me 240 for the cheapest temporary replacement which is worth more that the original wheel/hub setup. I took it to the bike shack and they adjusted the bearings, and sent me out with my bike as good as new for 10$ in labor costs. I could have hugged Paul for making my day and saving my trip haha. Its nice to find an honest and competent bike shop around a place with so many trails!
I like to support a local bike shop. And the staff are super helpful and always willing to help with any questions that you may have about biking. Overall 10/10 this place has me constantly coming back.
If you are into happiness and goodness, get into The Bicycle Shack!
Double review for double the love.
Took my daughter in for a helmet. We were the only customers in the store at the time. The owner stopped helping us three times to go help each person that walked in the door. He had plenty of staff for them. We werent taking up a lot of his times because this was within 5 min. We finally felt unimportant so we told him were going to look elsewhere.
The people are pretty good, their work is great, but the less than perfect review is because they couldnt stick to a timeline and then lost a part from my bike that took months to get back. Ultimately a frustrating experience means that I wont be going back.
Amazing place. Looked everwhere for a bike box and bicycle shack had one. Free of charge. Everyone is so friendly. Great place.
Small on space but big on service. Shopped repair rates at all the shops in Golden and this was the lowest. Prices on parts was almost lowest but at least comparable. Mechanics know their stuff and always come out to explain (even sent me away one day saying I didnt need to pay for such a small repair)!
I brought in a flat tire. They pumped it up and then gave it the water test to check for a leak. They gave me back an inflated tire and charged me nothing!
Cant recommend these guys enough. Brought my frame in to get powder coated and it came out beautiful. I had another shop disassemble the frame and the other shop broke a piece so the owner, John, drove down to the distributor himself to get a replacement so I could go on a trip the next day. Alex put my fork back on the frame and let me watch so I can do it myself next time around. Then Corey came and met me near my house after hours to give me some more parts. Amazing service! These guys take it to the next level to make sure your satisfied. If youre thinking of powdercoating your frame, take it here and just do the $325 full service, I spent almost that much trying to take it apart myself for the $175 and I trust these guys way more.
Exceptional service... Quick, competent, fairly priced. Highly recommended for service.
This shop is amazing, the employees are enthusiastic about their work, prices are fair, and service is personal. Its great to be able to support a local business and get great service in return.
Great People. Experienced staff. Fair pricing!
Really, this should be your first stop shop. I have been to this shop a couple of times now and dont know why it hasnt been my first stop when I need bike gear but it will be from now on. My first time there I went in right at closing to get a new tube. They we helpful and patient and I never felt rushed, despite me making them stay late. Sometime later I went in with my son to get him a new helmet. The person who helped me was so nice and helpful. He showed me everything they had for kids, educated me on their MPS (MIPS?) Kids helmets but never ever pressured me to buy the more expensive ones. I let my son pick and he loves his shark helmet :) Today I went in after going to performance bicycles and bicycle village (on my route) as my dog chewed my cycling shoes and I was hoping that I could find replacement parts to salvage them instead of buying new. At both places I got less than helpful service. At the first place I was just told there was nothing I could do and then salesman walked away before I could ask follow up questions. Second place didnt answer my question at all but infomred me that they they had very nice shoes in stock. I left. I drove out of my way to go to The Bicycle Shack, hoping to at least get some information. They dont carry bike shoes but since these guys seem to be active cyclists themselves, I presented them with my problem. The young man who was helping me was so friendly and quite helpful. I think with his information I can actually salvage my shoes for a fraction of the cost of buying new. If I do end up buying new I was going to just go through amazon, but after today I will no doubt order from the Bicycle Shack if I do end up needing to buy new. Dont be fooled by the small size or seeming lack of selection, this place will get you what you need and they are local. They get that a successful business isnt about always making the fast easy sale but rather building relationships with their customers. After today, they have a loyal customer in me.
My go-to shop. Been in several times for parts and service. Always leave satisfied with my bike in better shape and my mind at ease.
Very honest business. Great people and great service.
Went here today because I needed a spare tube for my road bike and the shop was along my route. The employees were all quite nice and friendly; however, they charged me over $12 for a single generic tube! Ive purchased the exact same tube elsewhere for less than $5 and have NEVER seen it priced higher than $7. This bike shop has prices double that of a bike shop I used to frequent in Newport Beach with an ocean view. Simply unexcusable. Needless to say, I will never be back here and will direct all of my friends in the cycling and MTB community to avoid this shop. If theyre so money hungry to double the price on tubes, imagine how theyll try to gouge you on repair jobs! Im out of the loop on road bikes, but their MTB selection was super meager and weak. Seems like theyre trying to leach off the cycling community rather than support and build it. Plenty of better shops in the area to direct your business to!
Very helpful & knowledgeable - my bike runs great now after their tune up.
Great customer service with friendly, well-informed staff!
Great little shop and super friendly helpful staff
Very nice staff and great bikes
Nice bike shop. Had a flat on the nearby Dry Creek Trail and stopped in. Very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
Showed up at 12:15, store is aupposed to be open, and no one is here. Unreliable if you cant get your store open by noon, when it is advertised as such. Ill frequent a store that isopen when the
Great service
Great store and people are really friendly
