Just got a new Jamis Portal. Love It!!! It rides like a Cadillac down the hills. Stevie and Gabe are great mechanics and fixed my old bike multiple times. I have sent all my friends. Check it out here, low pressure and great service.

I rented a mountain bike here while visiting and they were very friendly and fairly priced. I crashed and broke my collar bone, and a few parts on the bike and they were in no way condescending or rude when repairing. I expected a large bill for such a fantastic bike, but to my surprise it wasnt. I sat, had a few drinks, and chatted with the staff while they worked. I cant recommend this shop enough.

Rented a bike from here to hit the nearby trails. I got some great advice on routes and directions that were super helpful. Ride was excellent as was the post-ride beer I purchased. Would do again next time I visit Asheville!

Year after year, the team at Carolina Fatz 2.0 never fail to impress me. No matter what I throw at them, (at times its A LOT!) they handle it with a smile and a fair price tag. I love my bike shop!

Very snobby about what they “can fix” and they’ll still charge you even if they don’t fix it. If you don’t have a super high dollar bike, and a lot of money, don’t go here. Stevie was very rude and went on and on about it wasn’t their fault they couldn’t fix my bike, but charge me for it anyway. I took it to another shop and they fixed it no problem for half the price. Never going back.

Great bike shop, down to earth no frills experience, like it should be. Even though it’s a smaller shop, they always seem to have the parts I need on the shelf.

I rented an awesome mountain bike from these guys (Gabe and Steve) and the service was awesome. Call ahead so you know whether or not they’ll have a bike for you but the bikes they rent are top of the line Jamis A1. You can ride to the trailhead from their shop or drive and park (I rode this time but next time I’ll load the bike and drive). Bonus: they usually have some beers on hand they can sell you so you can have a cold one after your ride.

Had a fantastic experience here. Rented a great bike, super friendly staff made sure the bike was in good shape and that it was the right bike for me and my adventure. Great vibe- conveniently located. Process in and out was easy. Highly recommend!

Went for a chain replacement, chain cost around 26$ which is the norm, they ended up charging me 59$ for the whole replacement with the chain, and said they indexed gears which really didnt need to be indexed and kept the bike over night. Went over to motion makers right after to see there price for labor and they charge 15$ for labor. They justified the 59$ with the indexing of the gears but I just wanted the chain to be replaced, there was no need for indexing. Bike felt the same as before and after the visit.

Hands down the best mountain biking shop in the Asheville area. Great prices, great service, and great people who go out of their way to provide the best customer experience in the region. And the shop is conveniently located near the Bent Creek trails, which makes Carolina Fatz 2.0 the place to stop before/after a ride.

My family has been using this bike shop for years and we have never had an issue. Whether purchasing a bike or getting your bike serviced, Steve and crew are always there to help. Prices are reasonable and selection of bikes/gear is solid. Highly recommend them to anyone!

Came in with a flat on my off-road fiik ESB & was quickly handled & I was on my way. Nice, matter-of-fact staff was able to take of my stem issue expeditiously and efficiently with good-hearted small-town personal service.Loved the arboretum! I recommend the area to all vehicles-not just bikes. My experience was awesome!

The guys here are incredibly nice, knowledgeable and helpful! We were in Asheville on our honeymoon and wanted to try riding some easier trails - were pretty fit but have never been mountain biking. The guys hooked us up with rental bikes, told us which trails to check out at DuPont, and even gave us a lift there and back since its so close (we didnt have a vehicle big enough to pack the bikes and the ride over there is on very busy roads). Highly recommend!!

This is one of the best shops around. Great atmosphere and they always get my bike back to me as quick as possible. Fair prices and All of the people that work there are awesome! And you definitely cannot beat the location right outside Bent Creek Trails.

I have been going to Fatz for years. I’ve always had a great experience, both buying bikes and getting them serviced. I trust them to work on my bikes, whether I bought it their or not. It’s hard to find mechanics you can trust to keep your ride in top shape and Gabe and Mike are top shelf.

This store Rocks and Mike is awesome! We rented two mountain bikes that worked great. Were from FL and dont know the area at all. Mike hooked us up with everything we needed. We rode to the trails from the bike store - had an awesome day - finished it off with a cold beer from the store. Thanks for making our day fantastic Mike - we had a blast!

Tried them twice. Both times my bike wasnt ready the day they said it would be. Tune up missed diagnosing faulty brakes, had to return after 2 rides. Charged extra to use a card, just like a big oil gas station. Good thing theres many bike shops in AVL. Let the Benk Creek tourists go here.

Charged me $96 for a basic tune up. Then charged me another non cash fee of $3. I checked with other shops and they charge $75. Shame on me for not checking first. I won’t be back. I can’t wait to tell everyone I know.

Great staff and excellent service! Gabe helped me out when I needed a front tire on short notice for the afternoon. I was visiting from out of town and was a little intimated to try and work with an unfamiliar bike store. Gabe was kind, patient, professional, and went the extra mile to help me get back out on the trails. I would definitely use them again!

My experience has been nothing but positive at Carolina Fatz. I purchased a Rocky Mountain Vertex from them and they were thorough, and even offered to let me ride a full carbon race bike prior to buying it. You are always greeted when you walk in and theres always a good vibe going on in the shop. Gabe and Josh have both worked on my previous bike and they were honest, up front, and fast with their craft. Much appreciated and will definitely be back!

A couple of friends had recommended Carolina Fatz, I just had a shifter replaced and gears/derailleur adjusted, I could not be more pleased. Excellent work, fast turnaround, a more than fair price, this is now my go-to bike shop. Great guys working there, very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Ive bought all of my mountain bikes from these guys. I get nearly all of my service from Carolina Fatz 2.0 because I trust them. They keep my bikes in top shape and I honestly dont know what I would do without them. I drive around 50 miles to take my bikes to them. They treat people great and give good service.

The dude who was running the counter is trying to get me to say yes and spend money on something I actually dont need. Hes a profiteer on account of others ignorance, but I really wasnt born yesterday.

I called the shop to ask about a minor repair. Keith was very helpful in explaining the what they could do, how much it would cost, and how long it would take. I dropped the bike off and it was ready to go the next day. Competent, friendly service.

Funny how every negative review is fake. I asked these guys to order a very specific small part and was quoted a price, but had to leave my bike to get the correct part. Arrived to pick it up and the price doubled, but when I protested I was berated. Dont believe the hype.

Best bike shop in Asheville. When walking through the door you’re greeted by a friendly knowledgeable staff that has a love for biking. These guys aren’t trying to push a high end bike on each person that comes through the door you will be treated like a customer should be wether you’re there for a new bike or just to talk biking. They sell great bikes and have the best bike servicing around. They will try their best to get you anything you might need. You can stop by after a ride for a cold beer and a chat with the guys. Honestly this bike shop will make you feel at home like an old school bike shop.

Great Shop with great guys. A friend and I took a trip to Asheville and wanted to hit the trails for the day. Jason at Carolina Fatz hooked us up with great bikes at a reasonable price to rent for the day. The bikes were awesome and well tuned. His team helped us plan out a great ride based on our time and skill. The shop is really nice with a great selection as well and the location is right at the entrance to the trails. I met the owner out at Bent Creek when I was first starting out biking and he gave me a few tips and invited me by the shop. Now 6 months later, this is still absolutely my go-to bike shop. Every time I walk in, I get treated like family. Im a much more capable rider now and they continue to blow me away with their honesty in service, steering me away from products and services that wouldnt suit my needs. The staff at Carolina Fatz are friendly and helpful. I would not take the bikes in my stable to another place for service. Not to mention you can drink a beer, hang and chat with the staff while waiting on a quick service.

While visiting the area I stopped by and ended up buying a Growler Rocky Mountain 740 bike. The store owner took his time and went over everything with me. It was a pleasant experience, got a great deal too.

Had a few broken spokes and warped rims on my Specialized Enduro. The guys were happy to replace only the broken spokes and took the time to get both wheels perfectly true. They havent been this straight in 5 years! The price was great too. Super impressed.

This is a great bike store in the Asheville area! My husband purchased a bike there last fall and not only did they give us a great deal, but the exact bike he wanted was right there on the floor. They have a large selection of bikes in their well-utilized space and their knowledgable staff is always eager to assist you. The atmosphere is very welcoming and inviting!

Treated with racism at this shop against the color of my skin. Accused me of being fake because they think we don’t or can’t ride bikes. I feel discrimination against again because I have brown skin. Like he assumed I must not ride bikes.
