Wonderful selection of delicious cheese and wine. Various other small delectables are available. The service was perfect. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Will absolutely be back!!

This place is AMAZING! Sooo many delicious cheeses to choose from and the sweetest most knowledgeable owners. We had so much fun enjoying our blues and Brie with a yummy baguette on their outside patio. We went back and raves about South Slope Cheese Co. to our BNB table mates the next day at breakfast!

Im a local and thought this place was going to offer upscale, local and organic cheese, meats, olives and nuts. I bought the salmon spread which was amazing. But the cheese box for 2 ( which said local cheese) was a disappointment as it contained 3 slices of cheese ( I asked the lady manager at the counter what local farms were used, she didnt know) 2 different types of meets, prepackaged and not local olives, some unidentified chips and a .65¢ package of Planters roasted peanuts. I can get planters peanuts anywhere. That alone made the box and experience feel cheap.Its cute they are cashing in on the south slope name and have a wine bar next door ( let me explain that, they sell wine in the shop and you buy the wine and they charge you $7 to have you open it.Its definitely for tourists and not geared towards locals and obviously they dont utilize all the vast and amazing local farms and cheese makers.I give it the 2 star as the only thing that actually had there label on it that I saw and bought was the salmon spread.Earth Fare has a better selection of local items.Like I said this place is just cashing in on the name South Slope.

Amazing friendly service from a classy gentleman that obviously loves his job and was super patient and knowledgeable. Fantastic selection of wine from near and far, as well as some tasty ports. Not thier main goal but I was delighted that they had a small selection of vegan cheese as well. Refreshing to see it included. Thank you for being here!

Hanging out in Asheville again. Stopped at Slope Cheese Shop for cheese. Epoisses soft French cheese was suggested by the owner. ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!! 👌

Love, love, love this place. We’re so happy they survived the pandemic and appear to be prospering. There shop is cozy, friendly, and well-stocked. Kind of reminds us of little shops in France. Anyway, Curt and his wife are hard-working, lovely people and we highly recommend a visit. Great for snacks, gifts, wine and especially cheese. Baguettes are pretty good too!

This shop is a treasure. The person working the counter was very friendly and knowledgeable. I got a mini charcuterie sampler which was out of this world. Definitely going to have to hit when we are in town again!

This is one of our favorite stores. The range of cheeses is incredible. We are currently enjoying Neals Yards Stilton, which is incredible. We’ve purchased charcuterie boxes which are great for entertaining and Emily has helped us to customize one for vegan guests.

My wife and I love this place. Exceptional selection and kind service from the husband and wife duo who run the place. They are always upbeat and courteous and of course, very excited and knowledgeable about wines and cheese they offer. Their picnic-ready cheese and meat boards are so great! And you can find their products around town at various wine bars and restaurants. Keep up the good work South Slope Cheese Co!

Picked up a charcuterie box and two cheeses from behind the counter.The box was ok, good size for the price. Unfortunately two of the four cheeses werent my jam and one of the two meats werent it either. The peanuts and crackers felt a bit called in. I get that it has to be scalable, but I think flat crackers or a small baguette would have been better. Im not knocking any stars for it not being a home run. The blue cheese and pimento were A+ for me.That said, the cheese from the case, perfection. The lady working the counter was friendly and paired me up with a gouda that took me straight to happy town. I also got a round of goat cheese thats just *cheffs kiss*.Cannot wait to burn through this stash so I can go back and work my way through the case.Bonus: theres free limited dedicated parking right outside on Millard.

This place is a cheese and wine lovers dream come true! Not only do they offer charcuterie boards to-go based on what youll be drinking, but I was also able to describe my unicorn cheese to the lovely attendant and she picked out the most delicious cheese Ive ever had! I will be back!

I love that they had orphan cheese for sale to give you a taste of cheeses you would normally pay $20 and up by the pound. Purchased the white wine pairing charcuterie and a few other delectables that I couldnt resist.

South Slope Cheese. Their cheeses...and their homemade dips....WoW. But the (other) mouth watering and amazing thing are their small baguettes they sell in a basket by the counter. Individually wrapped, about 6 inches long...Holy Batman are they amazing. Like France, NYC amazing. Yesterday I picked up 6, he had just pulled out of the oven when I called to check. I bought their Red Dragon cheese, it is a creamy, delicate cheddar with....mustard seeds that pop, actually pop when you eat it.Worth a trip to The Slope for many reasons.Cheese is one of my favorite things, so are amazing French Baguettes...so are dips.Definitely the best Ive had in Asheville. Its in the building on the corner that was an old car repair place, old tire place next door still there. Right across from The Green Man Brewery.Super friendly and helpful too.

Yummy. Even though this shop is tiny, it is filled with delicious treasures. They have local cheese, international cheese, soft cheese, and cheese with stripes of taste bud tingling stuff of all sorts. They also have all the charcuterie paraphernalia you could hope for. Stop in! No regrets!!

We went there from 20 miles away and they were closed because they went to vacation, thats great. But why no updates about it on google or on their website?

Emily and Emilys employee were great as they helped pair a great Spanish red wine with a local Chocolate Lab cheese and an Italian cheese. Almonds and Toscano salami completed the afternoon snack. The seating area outside was perfect on a late summer afternoon in August to enjoy it all. Highly recommend this place for wine, cheese, excellent service, and superb recommendations.

Great wine selection and very decent prices. They don’t wear masks so I feel like my safety isn’t much of a priority for them. Disappointing for a local shop to not be more interested in my safety and theirs. But good wines.

Our family surprised us with charcuterie from South Slope Cheese and it was amazing! We came to Asheville to celebrate our original wedding date that has been moved due to covid. My family reached out to South Slope Cheese and let them know what we liked. They created the perfect charcuterie board with the suggestions of what we liked from our family and paired the perfect wine. The charcuterie came in a cute box portioned out perfectly, and had delicious sides of olives and dips and little chocolates! It was so fresh and delicious and plenty for the two of us! Not only was the charcuterie board delicious but the customer service was amazing!! Thank you for helping make this an unforgettable weekend!

Wow, what a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. We couldnt be more excited. The owners are lovely and knowledgeable. The prices are great! We were recommended a bottle of Lavilella Alta by black slate 2017. It ranks a 4.2 on Vivino and is in the top 2% of all wines in the world. It was only$22.99. We also stocked up on cheese, crackers, vermouth and Cava. Cant wait to go back.

What a lovely addition to Asheville. Owners Curt & Emily have carefully curated their wonderful cheeses and wines. There are homemade spreads and dips, pâté, sausages, gravlax and theyre very knowledgeable about it all. Be sure to try the popular lunchboxes. I left with a bag of goodies.
