A beautiful garden and landscape store with a bountiful array of products and amiable staff. Bought everything that we came for and had lots of help from the staff whether it was advice for picking out the right trees to plant or loading them into the truck. Also a very attractive store; shelves lined with products and a waterfall with koi pond outside.

Definitely a candy store for the garden enthusiasts.They offer many mnay varieties of plants and garden items for all your planting needs. Whatever garden item you need Im sure you can find. Whats even better - most items are also not made in china!

EDIT: the owner reached out and graciously offered a refund on the plants. Upon returning to the store, I saw that they had a lot more healthy succulents and decided to get two more plants instead of having them refund my money. Staff was very kind and helpful and I appreciate them fixing their mistake.I havent visited this store in a while but I bought a couple of plants there today that I wish I would have inspected more closely before purchasing.One of the plants has powdery mildew on it, and the string of dolphins I purchased (for full price) that was in incredibly rough shape already (I naively thought I could rescue it) was dried out and upon further inspection, i found that it is inundated with mealy bugs. Im mad that I paid full price for two plants that are going to cost me a lot more to try to rehabilitate. Oh, and they dont accept returns on houseplants. I cannot recommended them for their plants.

I recently moved to Hendersonville and have been looking for a garden center with consistent, quality customer service and decent prices. So far Ive visited almost every nursery in the entire area and must say that Jesse Israel is by far the best. Employees are genuinely nice and extremely knowledgeable/helpful, and prices are very competitive... probably the best Ive seen in WNC.

I was hoping they would have a wide selection of succulents but there was only a few. It could be that i was there late and also because of whats going on. Coz they did had an emtpy green house. They do have a wide selections of other plants and i was able to find some of what i have been looking for. They also have planters and soils. It is a little pricey. They were also helpful and nice.

This place was amazing! Great prices great selection even in the winter! Got my longtime coveted DOLPHIN 🐬 SUCCULENTS !!!! If I had more room in my car I would have brought a ton more home!!

I went looking for garden art; there were a few priests and monks that I wouldn’t have in my garden; but when I explained what I want, they offered to call me when they got one. Everyone was very helpful, especially the nice lady who explained the chlorosis of my gardenias, and explained that they don’t carry what I call “real gardenias” that are not generally hardy, but had frost proof “daisy gardenias” that I might like—so I bought one. The place is a treasure house of everything garden! If they charged admission I’d pay. A great place to wander around in, and I’ll bet you find something you must have! Cheers!

I was reluctant to post this because I am not one to complain however, the more Ive thought about it the more I felt something needed to be said. I was there yesterday with my elderly father who has a hard time walking or standing for very long. He has to use a cane and sit often. I was trying to purchase the things I needed to plant some raised tomato beds for him and my mom. As I was trying to make my purchase my dad sat down on a bench inside the store. He was approached by one of the employees and told The husbands waiting benches are outside for you to sit on. I had to help him up off the bench and we left. I pray that you give your employees sensitivity training so that they may be more compassionate to the elderly or anyone with disabilities. Have a blessed day.

The best of the best. I took my succulent there for some TLC. They spent a lot of time giving it care and educating me. I couldnt have been happier with their service. Above and beyond.

Fantastic place for gardeners... they really have EVERYTHING. We love to go here and explore. We found Bush raspberry plants (bought three) also a few interesting plants for our pond (and another fish!). If I had the dough Id transform our gardens with goodies from these helpful people. Here are the raspberry bushes in with our winter squash by the driveway.

I love this place.Not going to mention how much I’ve spent here... I am not the most experienced plant person, despite how many I buy, but I still haven’t killed anything from here! The succulents are all healthy and aesthetically pleasing and the soil is great quality. One time I found a decapitated tip (not even an inch long) that didn’t belong with any succulents on the floor, and when I went to give it to the gardener to propagate, he told me I could have it!! Made my day. The greenhouse must get the perfect amount of light because the plants in there are gorgeous and I haven’t noticed any looking sun-starved. I don’t think the prices are extreme compared to other places. Some of the pots are expensive, of course.P.S. found my monstera deliciosa about a month ago here! It was huge but only $40. I’ve since split it in two and it’s still going strong. Fingers crossed.

I love Jesse Israel and Sons Nursery. They have a wide array of plants to choose from. Anything from indoor to outdoor from shrubs and trees to flowers and unique plants. Theyre indoor shop is full of great products for the garden. A little expensive but well worth it. And always fun to follow up at Jesse Israel after a trip inside the farmers market for some fresh vegetables and fruit.

I originally gave 2 stars but after thinking about it the plants I got were great and the price was fair, the problem I have is the way they give VETERANS a discount; Im giving 4 stars just for my response below;It is a ONE DAY ONLY ON TUESDAYS, I called on Tuesday to see if they had what I wanted and they did, it was close to closing time and I asked if they would hold them for me if I paid for Over the phone they said no need they would hold them, I asked if they gave Veterans a discount, answer was yes, NO mention about Tuesdays only.I go up Wed morning to pickup and that was when I found out about discount. Me personally, not a good way to treat VETS.Just saying.

Great selection and helpful staff! As agardener, I think I could spend all day here. They have a great selection of vegetable starts, including lettuces. They even have the small starts which are great because you can get more for less! Everyone I have been there have been lots if staff and someone always asks if they can help! They have an greenhouse nursery too.

Great waterfall and pond store! The Koi are amazing! My only complaint is the selection of herbs and such is a bit limited.

Currently not paying attention to covid pandemic. Staff not wearing masks orphysically disancing, and no physical distancing or mask requirements for patrons. Kind of a shopping nightmare at this time.

In case you want to know where the plants come from, a great deal of the seeds or from Sow True Seeds- a local seed bank and many others come from independent heirloom seeds and seed banks. How many from Monsanto? NONE, ZERO. The plant selection included anything we could want in our garden as well as many decorative/ non-food use plants -which I couldnt justify spending money on at the time. The staff was so friendly and helpful in helping us start our garden, from plant care, to natural fertilizers, to the staging of planting. Love Israel& Sons. Well be going soon for tomatoes, peppers, etc.

Just stopped on our way out of town. The selection at this time of year was understandably spare in perennials. However, I was very taken aback by how few houseplants there were. The day was redeemed however, as I found 2 Begonias I did not have. Also some lovely Cordyline discounted as well.

I was dumb enough to ask for help, and they take you straight to the most expensive plants on the yard. I felt like I was at a car dealership. Anyway, contrary to their assurances, the plant they recommended (and we bought) is not supposed to be planted in fall.

This is the second year Ive purchased vegetable plants from them that were mislabeled. I needed red bell peppers for the sauces I can over the summer. What fruited were cowhorn. Not good in Italian sauces. I also purchased plums tomatoes that turned out to be mini yellow pear tomatoes, unsuitable for pasta sauce. Seems you dont get what you pay for at Jesse Israel.
