This is an awesome low profile place to go hit some balls and quite often you dont feel crowded. Do check beforehand they may be closed on Mondays and Thursdays or maybe it was just my most recent visit.

Great place to hit. No distance markers or flags. You can hit from Matts or grass.

Not a good range if you are a real golfer and want to work on your game. Even if grass is open, its mostly dandelions. Mats arent great. No yardages and poor targets. No short game area. This range has been around since I was a kid and it seems he hasnt put a dollar into the place in 20 years. Only thing its good for is if you want to go smash driver with no real purpose.

$13 to wack some torn up balls into a cow pasture. Options are hitting off crab grass and weeds or torn up mats on hard concrete. No yardage signs.... kind of difficult for even a novice golfer to figure out how far theyre hitting the ball. The parking lot almost destroyed my car as theres several large piles of gravel that havent been distributed throughout the lot.

I was going to give this three stars as this place is perfectly average. However, the prices, to me anyway, did not reflect the quality. The prices are $7 for a small bucket, $10 for a medium, and $12 for a large bucket. Add $1 if you use plastic. These prices are similar to a really nice place out in fletcher where I believe you get a lot more than a green to practice from.As someone else mentioned there are no yardage markers either. I included a photo to show what the markers look like. There are things out there, but Im not experienced enough to just look at know what each one represents. Its the only place thats highly accessible from downtown, so maybe thats why they get away with those prices. But I think ill be going to the racquet club from now on if I go during lunch. The owner seemed friendly enough, but the prices dont match the quality. of the place.

This is where the grind starts. Place to work on your game no frills no distractions.

I liked the vibe, which was basically no vibe. Simple, no frills golf range with assorted found re-washed golf balls. Only for full swing practice (ie. no sand or short game area). One-man operation in a small scenic pasture off the highway allows you to practice without much distraction. Convenient to downtown. Yardages could be more clearly marked.

A bit pricey. 14 bucks for a large bucket, thats 2 dollars more than the place I usually go to. Theres about 6 usable mats considering the rubber tees are either too long, too short, or non existent on most. The mat I used left residue on my clubs that I had to clean off afterwards and it wasnt super easy to get off either. The clubhouse I guess you can call it is pretty dirty and cluttered. They didnt have any water bottles for purchase which isnt a big deal but there was a sign for dollar waters. Overall I didnt mind paying 14 bucks, it was laid back and my buddy and I could relax being the only people there for a little while. If you dont care about yardage and just want to correct a slice or hook its a decent place to go if youre near by. The yardage markers are just shabby wooden posts in the ground without any markings to tell you the distance. I knew the first one was 50yds from a previous review and just guessed the rest. It was pretty swampy around the mats in certain areas. Range balls arent in the best condition, several of the ones I had were dead and didnt hit well. The man that was there was nice. In conclusion, ill probably go again because its on the way to my job and its comparable to hitting balls in your backyard but without having to go find them afterwards, thus making this cheaper than losing balls you paid for. 3 stars.

Looks run down but they give you a good green to hit off. Management were nice. They let me and my grandson stay past 5 to finish off our bucket of balls. You can easily share a medium bucket of balls like he and I did. The yardage markers arent marked very well but for your information the first one is 50 and they go up by 25. All and all this was a good driving range.

I realize its the off season and turf is at a premium for driving ranges. However, the only option is to hit off Matts that are on top of concrete pads. The mats are worn out, you cant use a tee, and they have no bounce or give. The worst part is paying $13 for balls that are dead. Doubt if I will return...

Right off Tunnel Rd turn left to practice area. If you have to hit off mat leave. The thin mat lays over concrete and if you have a steep swing you will tear clubs up.

The price is alright (14 bucks for a bucket of balls that will last you at least an hour by yourself). But they should spend the 3 hours it would take to put up clear markers. The workers were very nice though.

Three of us took a group lesson with Joe and it was GREAT! We varied in skill level but he was able to tailor his instruction so we all got a lot out of the two-hours. I know Ill go back again for more instruction. Thank you, Joe!

Joe the pro is a fine teacher. He understands and illustrates proper swing mechanics, but never gets lost in meaningless physical detail. He combines solid analysis with plenty of examples and stories. Hes funny, and unworried about lesson length. Ive had lessons from many renowned professionals--and Joe is the best.

Very comfortable ol country appeal - home grown customer loyalty program. He has your bucket of balls loaded up by the time you get to the door. I could not make it through all my balls in one day, so he simply set them aside and let me come back the next day to finish. Nice yardage markers. Excellent level mats (for winter time). I havent hit off the grass, but it looks OK.

I wish they had numbered markers but other than that, no complaints. Mountain schemers from the tees and right next to the river.

Needed a place to hit balls close to downtown Asheville and served the purpose. Nice, quiet driving range that can use a couple improvements to some areas of grass and yardage signs.

Horrible service, asked me to hit off mats which proved impossible. I use a Taylormade driver and couldnt even hit off of the tee provided on the mats. The man inside was on the phone the whole time and spoke less than 10 words to me.

I am very disappointed seeing staff getting on customers for taking practice swings and taking divots the remarks from the owners son to a novice golfer trying to learn the game you should not be taking so many practice swings, it messes up the range! I returned a few times only range close to work/town. Today was my last time going to this place, The son of the owner asked me if I had a golf ball in my pocket? I said yes I do. He said did I pick it from the T-box? I said yes I did, it is my ball. I was juggling it with my lob wedge. He began to question my intergrity and said I am not a virgin and you are just like everybody else... I responded in a stern voice, Just so you know who you are acusing of being a thief, I am a 30 yr, combat Vet., I do not appreciate you accusing me of stealing from your driving range! I went on to explain you are more than welcomed to check all my balls, they are the same brand and numbers. He declined to check. He went on to repeat how he found it weird I would be pickig up a ball from the range TBox and why would My ball be on the TBOX? I feel sorry for this young Man. He must see the worse in people? He went on to tell me so many others steal balls and I was no different, This was his Dads buisiness... He never truly apologized for accusing of me steeling, He did thank me for my service and suggested I have a nice evening, I personally did not feel he was sincere. I explained to him as best I could he could of asked me politely if the ball I pickekd up was mine and I would of understood his concern, but instead his delivery was damning and inappropiate. My best to this family ran business. I expect you have been in buisiness a while and will continue. I was very disappointed with my experience, never the less my day ended well as it does most days, I go to the range to relax and work on my swing, not to be accused of stealing or hearing the management complain about novice golfers taking divots in what is mostly dirt/weeds/crab grass...

Any range that accuses a veteran of stealing a golf ball and chastises novice players while trying to learn the game is no place that I want to support.
