Liz was our LC and, simply put, she saved our breastfeeding journey. She was warm, kind, and thorough and helped me to put together a game plan that worked beautifully. Our experience here was fantastic.

Ive only rented a pump and spoken with the lactation consultants, so I cant attest to the boutique. Im a recent 3rd time mom and I used a consultant while at Mission. I didnt think I needed to, but it was SO helpful. Id forgotten some things! Im currently 4mo out and started having lactation issues so I called and spoke with another consultant. She was amazing. Nice, knowledgeable, experienced and able to give me a lot of specific advice. Id highly recommend them to anyone.

This is my favorite place to shop for nursing clothes. I love that the clothes are very flattering. The staff is very nice and wants you to leave there feeling and looking great.There are also lots of nursing supplies and accessories to make everyday nursing and pumping easier. The lactation Consultants are also wonderful. I really feel like they listen to me and address my concerns.This place is a much needed breath of fresh air for new mommies and long-term breast feeders.

Mission Breastfeeding Center is one of the most valuable and supportive resources any mom could ever ask for! After our first child was born premature and with trouble latching, the lactation consultants (especially Julie) were beyond helpful with their recommendations and kindness. They patiently and pragmatically helped me troubleshoot both my breasts and my pump, supported my continued goals, monitored our sons growth, listened empathetically in my new-mom-meltdown-moments, provided exceptional education and patient care, and ultimately picked up on our childs tongue and lip tie and made appropriate referrals.... before our pediatrician even picked up on it. I honestly dont know what I wouldve done without the exceptional care I received from these women. They made my wide-eyed transition into motherhood a little less bumpy and gave me support, education, and compassion in such a critically important time. My family is forever grateful!

I had a terrible experience there. The LC was rude and uninformed. She did a weigh, feed, weigh on my son when he was about 4 months old. I told her that he nursed shortly before that and she said it didnt matter. He took in 3 oz on one side and didnt want to nurse on the other. He was content and happy. She then told me that my supply was gone and that I was starving him. I said that he looked and acted happy and she said it was only because he was used to being hungry. She wanted me to start giving him 3 oz of formula at every feeding. She gave me such horrible advice that if I had actually followed, would have ended my breastfeeding relationship early. Thankfully I knew better and sought advice from LLL. Currently my son is 17 months and nursing strong, no thanks to the breastfeeding center.I wouldnt recommend this place to my enemy. If you want to succeed, pass by this place and head to a LLL meeting.

The support I received here saved my breastfeeding relationship. I am so very thankful to these kind and dedicated ladies.

We had very poor experiences here ranging from frustrating to they reported us to social services without talking to us about it, probably because we didnt agree with their advice (which is always just use formula).Our pediatrician was shocked. My wife is so scarred from it she cant even talk about it. We went there in good faith looking for help and assistance and all we got were ugly attitudes, condescension, and stress. We knew there was an issue and instead of helping they made it much worse.As it turns out, our infant had congenital choanal atresion, which was causing most of her feeding issues and required surgery.We rented a breast pump from this location, and that process was uneventful, but we will never take our infants there again.

I am profoundly grateful for the Breastfeeding Center of Asheville. We are so very fortunate that a resource of this caliber exists in Asheville!!! My newborn daughter (born in September 2016) only wanted to nurse on my right breast and seemed completely uninterested in the left breast. This was confusing and upsetting to me as a new mom.When I took her to the center they diagnosed her with mild tortcollis (it was difficult/painful for her to turn her neck to nurse on my left breast). The compassionate lactation consultants at the center showed me alternative nursing positions that would be more comfortable for her. They taught me simple stretches/physical therapy tips to improve my daughters Tortcollis.They helped me to select suitable nursing bras, and stylish, comfortable nursing tops, sweatshirts, and nightgowns. They also recommend products to improve my nursing posture.I returned to the center a few months later to purchase some educational toys for my growing baby.Overall, this center is a resource that all women and new moms should take advantage of! I feel such gratitude to the staff of this center. Whats more, I feel so fortunate that my insurance covered all my meetings with these lactation consultants. This proved invaluable to my babys growth, health and nutrition.

Great staff, knowledgeable, huge selection of breastfeeding attire, including tons of bras. Kind of expensive though.

A lot of good things, plus there are scales to weigh the child, as well as chairs to feed the child there, quietly calm. A cozy shop and not a lot of people. The center itself is good, employees explain and learn how to put a baby to the chest as a rule, answer all questions, show and tell everyone.
