Similar to other reviews, this company is dishonest, misleading, and patronizing to clients. The people on the phone/email are either a bunch of liars or are completely disconnected from the values and work by technicians. I was essentially robbed of $150 because of the unprofessional technician that came out FOR A QUOTE/assessment of the issue my door was having. He also left my door in as poor of a condition as when he arrived but for different reasons.I waited to write this review to see if my outreach to them would bring a fair resolution, but that has not been the case. I am taking the time to write reviews where I can because these types of companies are what destroy trust between homeowners and the repair industry. It is a shame to see companies go against the values of being a trusted and reliable resource.

Bryan at OGD responded to my garage door failure within 2 hours of my call to OGD. While he did not have the necessary parts on his truck to replace the spring assembly on the door, he committed to coming back at 7 AM the next morning, which was a Sunday so that my wife and I could be at church by 9 AM. Sure to his word he arrived in time, made the necessary repairs and replacements so we are able to arrive at church just a few minutes after 9. The door works perfectly now and I would recommend OGD and Bryan in particular to everyone I know. Thanks so much for service above and beyond expectations!!!

Jeffrey Harris was my OGD technician. He arrived within 2 hours of my call. He repaired the broken bracket and did an overall assessment with a 12 point inspection, lubrication of the garage door operator, balanced and adjusted the track, chain and belt. He was professional in his demeanor and explanation of the repair and service he completed. I would recommend Mr. Harris and OGD.

Chad who works for them does a very detailed job, doesnt take long at all. A local company refused to fix it because they didnt install it, but he came all the way from Atlanta and got it done under an hour.

Needed a new garage door opener replaced and OGD answered the phone and quickly scheduled for replacement. The technician was courteous and professional. However, the new opener was extremely loud and the belt became loose. The technician quickly returned and repaired the belt. The motor was still too loud and a second technician, James McDonald, came and replaced the factory defective new motor and replaced it with a very quiet new motor. I am very pleased with their service and attention to get it right. Such diligence is rare.

Overhead Garage Door (OGD) was both quick to respond to my inquiry and schedule a tech to come out to diagnose the problem I was having with my garage door. Bryan from OGD was on time, walked me through the available options and pricing and was very thorough in the installation. Bryan put me at ease and I had full confidence that he would get everything back up and running smoothly which he did. I highly recommend OGD and would hire them again if needed in the future.

Careful! This is not the Overhead Door Company of Atlanta. The technicican was good but charged $600 to replace a spring.

Ron came prepared to work, posting an identification sticker on the door before he knew if we were going to use his services. He assessed the problem and offered a solution. Once we agreed, Ron gathered his tools and got busy. In less than an hour from his arrival, my door was back in service. Before he left, Ron provided us with tips on how to keep the door in good repair!

OGD scheduled an appointment for the same day to send a technician within a few hours. The technician showed up ASAP which was great! He was courteous and performed an evaluation. After a prompt evaluation the technician explained what was the issue and shared with me what my options were. The garage door is up and running again. I’m so grateful and thankful that my garage door was repairable!

I couldnt open my garage door on Saturday. A couple broken hinges. I called OGD to repair and set up an appointment for Monday (Columbus Day holiday) between 8 and 10 a.m. Jim McDonald showed up about 8:15. Got the job done and gone within an hour. Impressive. Definitely would call again if I needed them.

Had major issues with my garage door. After a couple of weeks of not being able to use it I called these guys after seeing their advertisement on Google search. The add said same day service. I’d thought I would give them a try. I called late morning and sure enough they had a technician at my house in less than two hours. The tech had the door operational in about 30min. I would love to be one of those giving 5 stars, but I’ve been embarrassed with an order placed on 3/11/2021 to replace my bottom garage door panel. It was paid in full at that time by the houses previous owner. Time passed and the previous owners sold the house to me, and made me aware that OGD booked some appointments (at least 2) with them to replace the panel but didnt show up. Since then, Im calling OGD to understand when they are going to deliver and install the panel. For the first time, I was informed the panel was not delivered because some sort of misunderstanding about who to contact since the house was sold in the mean while, and they booked to do the service on 09/07/2021. They didnt show up! I received a call to reschedule to 09/13/2021. They didnt show up again!!! And never called to explain themselves... Now Im calling to receive some explanation, but they say because of too many parts involved they dont have the complete information to tell me exactly whats going on, and looks like the vendor didnt deliver the panel to OGD. Since March there were no panels built? You book an appointment with the customer with no panels to deliver? This is how you run the business? Im really confused.OGD, how can I get this done?

I would 100% recommend this company. Chris was amazing. The company responded the day after I called, they responded on time, and he was a hard worker that was able to replace everything within a few hours. My garage door will catch when it is closing and sometimes reopens before closing completely.Buford came on time. He looked at the garage door mechanism and told me he could not fix the hitch in the door without replacing the tension bar. He said this was a Wayne Dalton door and OGD did not work on that brand. He said it was installed properly by my builder, but that it was not the best they could have used.I appreciated his honesty and chose to continue as is.

I called, thinking I was calling Overhead Doors. I needed a garage door keypad. They came out and carved me $335.00 to replace the keypad. I realize this was my fault as I should have gotten quotes from other companies. After checking prices on Amazon I realize I’ve been screwed by this company. So learn from an old lady, check your prices first!

The technician was prompt and courteous. Unfortunately, my problem was not fixed. I was told that the part (the belt) was no longer available because my opener was too old. The only way it could be repaired was for me to purchase a whole new assembly which included a motor, remote, etc. The estimated cost was $799.00. My motors were not the issue. I wished I had been told that when I inquired about the repair. This would have avoided the unnecessary trip.Afterwards I called Lift Master customer service. Found out that these belts carry a lifetime warranty and were in stock. They are shipping them to me, at no charge.

They got here within the time I was told and immediately started the work. The technician was kind and very knowledgeable and explained everything to me in the beginning and end. He was very patient when I had a problem with my credit card. Great experience and great job.

I was given an appointment time of 2pm-4pm and told that the installer would text me when he was on his way. At 2:54pm I received a text that the technician was running slightly behind and would text when he was on his way. At 5:49pm I texted the number and asked is he still coming. 20 minutes later I received a text that you are next in line. At 8:37pm I received a text that the technician would not make it due to a large install and that I was rescheduled for the following day between 8am-10am. Poor customer service and horrible communication. I would never use this company again.

Chris was very nice and was very detailed to what my issue was. He provided the short term and long termfix. The end result-I will be getting a brand new garage door with warranty. I truly appreciate his honesty and professionalism. In addition, the price was within my budget.

Horrible! Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service!I called OGD to get an estimate for a garage door replacement. Once OGD received my deposit, their representatives gave me the run around for weeks!Theyre representatives claimed they spoke to their vendors about the availability of the garage door I ordered but the install date changed every week.Finally, (almost 2 months later) I got an official install date but the technician didnt show! I had to call OGD to find out that the technician wasnt coming because supposedly he lost his cell phone. I still dont know what a cell phone has to do with installing a garage door.The next day the technician still didnt show up. Apparently he forgot to pick up the garage door from the vendor. The following day, the technician shows up 4 hours late and the garage door finally gets installed.OGD is all about inconveniencing their customers and never apologized for their lack.Theres a plethora of garage door companies in the Atlanta area. Take my advice, keep your peace of mind, go with another garage door company and AVOID OGD.

Just yesterday my garage door started “screeching” when I opened it. I saw that the steel cables were so frayed that there was only one small filament left! I got online to find local garage door repair companies. “Overhead Garage Door” came up, I requested an appointment online, they called me within 10 minutes and were AT MY HOUSE in an hour and a half. The job was a little more complex but they went out and got everything I needed and had the whole system replaced very quickly. Extremely professional and meticulous. I will always use them if the need arises.

I have had a HORRIBLE experience with this company and have gotten NO resolution or reimbursement and have NO DOOR!! If I could give them 0 stars, I would. I ordered a door in FEBRUARY and paid the technician in full the day he came out with the ASSURANCE that I would have said door within 2 weeks (at the most, because it was probably in stock) only to find out that is would be 6-8 weeks before the door would arrive and possibly another 2-3 weeks before it could be installed. We were putting our house on the market and had arranged for it to be listed so we were under a time crunch, which I made clear before ordering the door. Immediately, upon discovering the company could not fill the order as promised, I cancelled the order and requested a refund. After numerous phone calls and messages, I finally spoke with a manager, who, after hearing the whole story, ASSURED me of a refund which has not happened YET!! I have called, and called and still havent been reimbursed. Oh yeah by the way, my husband is a veteran so just because this business is owned by a veteran does not mean anything - Dont do business with these people.

Pitiful service - set an appointment for between 4pm and 6pm with a 30 minute call-ahead. Never got a call and they were a ‘no-show’. Then we get a tech trying to enter our gated community at 9.26pm!!! No call ahead!! What a pitifully inadequate business. No follow up the next day. Will not bother to call them again.

I needed a new garage door and called OGD. I was very happy with the technician and his explanation on what the company included with purchasing a new door. My husband is very skeptical about repair and maintenance men, he hired OGD to do the job. This was our first estimate, he was completely sold. I would recommend this company and use them for any garage issues.

This company installed the garage doors on my new build home. I called them to ask how much a garage door opener would be and they quoted $499. Thats a negativeI went to Lowes and purchased a craftsman garage door opener unit for $99 and Lowes installation was only $99.Fast forward a year later (this past weekend) the garage door broke. I was told it was an installation error bc the garage door frame was not screwed in the stud. That turned out not to be true.The tech that OGD sent basically was rude and accused me of doing something to my door. He kept repeating what he thought occurred and I kept telling him that I did not leave the slide latch in the locked position and raised the door.Only 1 side of the garage door raised up and turns out the cable cord was off track. He quotes me $349 to reset the door. Thats a 🤪 crazy price and I knew better. I have a home warranty with a $100 deductible but they could not come out for a few days.I called around and Precision Garage door repair quoted me $89 even if they had to replace both cable cords however they could not come out for a couple of daysIt was going to rain so I kept calling around and finally reached Toms Garage Door Supplier Repair they quoted me $99 to reset the door. They arrived in 30 minutes and it took less that 5 minutes to reset the garage door.(OGD) Overhead Garage Door is OVERPRICED I recommend doing your research before using these guys.

The service tech was absolutely amazing. He assessed the situation and worked diligently to make the necessary repairs. He replaced needed parts, oiled and serviced other parts and most of all provided me with the assurance that my needs had been met and that OGD stood behind the work and would be there if I needed them again. First and foremost I never call the first people I see when I Google. In this case I did and before I checked out the reviews, which I usually do as well, I called. The customer service was awesome! She made me feel like she wasn’t trying to hard sell me, but actually wanted what was best for me. She accommodated my schedule and was able to get a person to me the same day for a consult. The timing was extremely inconvenient because I had just moved in and had to return to the old place for final move out tie ups! Well not long after I got a call from the technician who requested to move the time to an earlier time which was perfect! I was extremely happy! Ron showed up and was awesome! He explained everything in depth giving me all the options available! From the information he gave me, I couldn’t afford the price at that time, however I was never made to feel pressured! Ron did an excellent job and his customer service skills made me very comfortable. When I told him “not now” he didn’t seem upset after spending the quality time that he did, but he then gave me more options and actually made me very comfortable with my decision! I want to thank him for his professionalism, non judgmental demeanor and overall friendliness, kindness and gentleness! I will certainly refer others for service. Service tech up charged us and added work that he did not do. I called the service number to talk to someone and they never called me back. 200$ to set the upper in lower limits is overreaching. He even made the comment that if we were going to change the belt the motor would have to be changed. This unit was new. At this point I’ll never use them again

I’m actually quite surprised to see the ratings of this company. I had them come out to replace our garage door only because our opener was working just fine. They had someone come out and install our garage door which after installation we noticed it was all scratched up and damaged. It took us over a month to get a new door installed at which time we were told the last person who installed our door did it replace the springs which ended up burning out our garage door opener. I have been calling over and over for almost 2 months and I’m not able to get through to anyone or have anyone return my calls to find out information on a replacement garage door opener. Along with our garage door opener being damaged and all parts not being replaced the original installer also damaged our ceiling and half of it is coming down after the work he did. After $1800 I am left having to repair my own ceiling and get a new garage door opener. I will never ever use this company again or refer anyone to them. It’s in saying that you can’t even get a call back

I called this morning due to several large bolts that had fallen out of my double garage door and they were able to come out that afternoon! Tyler was super knowledgeable, showed us how to add silicone spray to the track every few months to keep it running smoothly. He added several extra bolts to reinforce the door. Definitely a great experience!

Arrived when he said he would, and text me right before he pulled up. My garage door stopped working overnight on a Saturday night. I called OGD first thing Monday when I couldn’t figure it out myself. They gave me a very early appointment which was convenient to my schedule. While awaiting the appointment time, I was able to solve the issue myself, so I sent a text and called after hours to cancel the appointment. Unfortunately, the cancellation didn’t get to the technician in time and he showed up for the appointment. I felt horrible that he had driven over an hour, but he was so kind and understanding. Most people would have been furious. Because OGD didn’t charge for a house call, it is unlikely this technician got paid for his time that morning and I feel terrible. But he remained nothing but positive throughout the interaction. I will definitely call OGD again when I need service on my door, just because this interaction was so positive. You can tell the true heart of people when they are faced with a bad circumstance, and they handled this perfectly.

We accidentally hit our garage door with the car. Bent the door badly and it must be replaced. Our technician ordered a new door which is an exact match replacement and bent the door back so it is closed and locked and looks normal until the new door arrives. He did a great job! Highly recommend.

This company was right on time, I could not get out of my garage and they came within the hour, the repairman was young but very knowledgeable about his job and did a great job.

Our garage had been making way too much noise, so I figured for a small fee for an inspection, it was worth having someone out to look at it. I called in the morning and they were able to have a technician at my home that same afternoon. I was charged a reasonable price for a full inspection, tune up, balancing and full lube of all critical moving parts. The tech even showed me how to perform some of the routine work myself. I immediately went on line and found Overhead Garage Door (OGD) a veteran owned company.They immediately set up an appointment to have a technician come to my home between 8:00AM and 10:00AM.Then they followed up immediately with an email confirming the appointment.By 8:30 the next morning the technician was at my home. He looked at my problem and gave me an estimate to repair. He also made a recommendation to replace it with newer and a more state of the art opener.It only took me a minute to decide. Considering the age of my broken opener, the difference in price between repair and new, I elected to go with new.The technician immediately went to work. He not only installed the new one but checked my entire garage door, springs, rail tracks, etc., lubricated everything. Replaced my wall switch, programmed my outside key pad and took my old opener with him.He was extremely courteous and professional. They took care of my garage door and me cause i was a mess by letting me feel that help is here. So if you need your garage door fix or replace i strongly recommend OGD Overhead you want go wrong!!

Megan was right on time, she did a great job of diagnosing my problem, was respectful of my efforts and knowledge and quoted a cost for my approval before completing repair!She took pictures of my door for reference and competed the job quickly. She was masked and respected my distance. Pleasant experience! I won’t hesitate to use OHD again! Will request Megan!Work was completed less than 24 hours after posting my service request online!

About 6 months ago a spring broke. I had it replaced by this company. During the recent power outage I unhooked the door from the opener, opened the door manually and it wouldn’t stay up and slammed down. It’s a heavy door and if a child happened to be standing near or under the door they would have been seriously injured or killed. If this company doesn’t have a procedure to test for this when they install or fix a door, then they need to add one. The 5 star review is for the girl who came out and fixed the door. She did a great job. To add insult to injury, the company still charged me the base $35 fee. They wouldn’t even agree to come out unless I agreed in advance to pay the fee. I won’t be using this company in the future.

Prompt and professional. We are very pleased and impressed with OGD.We were just looking for preventative maintenance to keep our door in good working order. Our tech Dean balanced the door and performed the necessary service at a reasonable price while other companies we called refused to even touch our Wayne-Dalton door or wanted to replace the entire system even though it was working ok and only 7 years old. The door operates smooth and quiet now, perfectly balanced.Now we know to call OGD the next time we need service. Lesson learned.
