Went here looking for my first electric guitar and still a little self conscious about my skill level. They were so helpful and nice. They hooked me up to an amp and just closed the door to the guitar room, letting me play whatever struck my eye. A year and at least 5 visits later, there is no question, THIS is the best music shop in Atlanta.

Very knowledgeable and patient staff!! They made the process so easy and was willing to teach and explain about all of my items purchase. Some were friendly and others were not but they all got the job done!! Definitely shopping with them for all of my music needs

Earthshaking Music IS my favorite music store in Atlanta. I’m a new customer with 2 visits beneath me and while all of the staff seem good - Charlie in particular, has been very knowledgeable and responsive to my questions and equipment needs. Their selection of bass effects pedals alone is the best I’ve seen at an in-person retailer. Prices seem even with internet pricing but the staff knowledge, attentiveness and great attitudes, are the points that in my opinion, forces me to rank Earthshaking above all of the online retailers and big box competitors.Keep up the good work guys!

Fun staff and an amazing selection including stuff you wont find at Sweetwater makes this place grand.The new location feels roomier than the EAV location.Wheelchair folks can access pretty well and there is parking!

I bought an acoustic guitar from this location after purchasing a very cheap guitar from Amazon ($40, came with 3 picks, gig bag, digital tuner, extra strings, and a tuning pipe).The guitar didnt stay in tune. Everytime I tried to tune it, it would make these terrifying popping sounds on the bridge.The guitar I purchased here was quality, and 2x more expensive but worth the investment. I now have been playing for 7 months. I started a YouTube channel lol.I now use 3 fingers instead of just my thumb lol ( arpeggios)I love playing A perfect Circle 3 Libras and Temple of the Dog - Hunger Strike7

The Best Guitar Shop, period. The best staff. Always an awesome selection of cool, quality, and often eccentric instruments. This is not the kind of shop where the clerks are cold or curt and too cool for school. Eric spent a huge amount of time with my kids, let them watch his expert skills soldering a pickup, and helped nurture their love of rock music, talking Kurt Cobain with my 9-yr-old. I’ve bought three guitars here over the last ten years and lots of gear. As a younger guy, I recorded a few tracks here, too in their very cool recording studio. Diehard Earthshaking fan. One of those hidden Atlanta gems that makes our city shine... worth the trip!

Earthshaking Music is an excellent music store! The employees are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, including their very-skilled tech(s). They also have a great selection of instruments, accessories, and effects. I highly recommend shopping here over any of the big box stores, Ive always had a good experience shopping here.

Overpaid for a guitar setup only to receive my guitar back without cleaning, sounding horrible and the cheapest strings on the market…as has just been verified by a Guitar Center tech…

There is a lot I like about this place, but there is definitely a problem with sexism here. The staff seems to be entirely white and male, and one staff member in particular has consistently been very patronizing to me. Without any prior familiarity with me, he consistently assumed I lack any knowledge or expertise. He told me things about my own gear as if I couldnt possibly understand it on my own. He told me that I would be able to settle on one type of guitar I liked once I had some experience. At one point, while trying out a guitar, I noted it was out of tune. I was about to tune it when he quickly took it from me, saying he would be able to tune it faster than I could. (This did not turn out to be true. He actually seemed to have some trouble with the amps tuner.) This particular employee has been there the last few times Ive been in, and from other employees Ive experienced a remote surliness. I understand this is the traditional culture of music stores, but I personally am not interested in participating anymore. Its a shame, because I think the store has a good selection and good prices, and its in my neighborhood. But until the culture at the store changes, Ill unfortunately be using ebay.

I had a formative couple trips to Earthshaking in EAV, then I forgot I was a drummer for about 20 years. Well I remembered recently, and found Earthshaking in a nice new home and so glad I did. Charlie isn’t a drummer, I don’t think, but he is a grade A shopkeep - he’ll do what he can to sell you what you need to get at it. Good selection of noisy things, some old stuff, nice new stuff, obnoxious stuff, lots of sticks, and some good spare parts and decent skin selection.- John AllPorkNoChops

Ive been shopping here for 15 years at least and Earthshaking never disappoints. They have a little bit of everything and every time I go with an oddball request (today it was specific tuning pegs for a guitar) they have it. What a music store should be- independently owned and all knowledgeable people working there. Also, Eric the guitar tech/repair guy has been hooking me up with setups, refrets, etc on multiple guitars for years and years. Hes great at what he does and has great prices. I cannot recommend this store enough. Please support them, so great they still exist while the big stores are out of touch and carry junk and try and upsell you stupid warranties on guitar cables.

Brought in my lezzi for a neck issue I was failing to get out myself, and they fixed it up smooth and cheap. Been told by more than one local musician that they are the best techs around. From a quick scan of their inventory, they seem to lean toward higher end beginner and intermediate gear. Full service musician shop. Drums guitar bass...Do yourself and the music world a favor and stay away from Guitar Center

My keyboard stopped turning on so I gave these guys a call and they said to take it in whenever and they could take a look and pass it along to their keyboard repair team if needed. When I went in, they were so helpful and friendly. The guy plugged in my keyboard and it worked right away so I didnt end up having to get it serviced but they were very nice and friendly about the whole situation. Just got very good vibes and found out that theyve been there since 1994. A great local music shop to support. They had a ton of instruments and other supplies and seemed quite knowledgeable, so I will definitely be back in the future. Highly recommend!!

Been a customer here since highschool (~09). Through the location changes, and all, this is my absolute favorite place to go for luthier work, replacement parts, strings, amps, cables, advice - every instrument (in my case, guitar) related help that I need. It makes me excited to think about making the trip to Earthshaking to get the help that I need from the people that I know love, and have most of the resources, to provide that very help and service.

We were looking for a pre-owned Taylor or Martin acoustic guitar. Were from out of town and had somewhere to be so we only had about 25 minutes to look around. At first everyone was nice while we looked around, both of our kids are involved heavily in music so they spent their time there trying out instruments to which the gentleman attending (I could assume owner) was kind and attentive. Until we turned down sale of a keyboard, at which point he decided to approach my autistic son while on a small drum kit and scream at him for being too big for it. Im no fan of leaving places in handcuffs, so I didnt cave in his face, I decided a well deserved poor review and exposure to the public what a peice of trash he is would suffice. Trying Dirt Cheap Music nearby instead.*update following response from the ownerIt is fair to say that your employee had a right to address the issue, but screaming and belittling an autistic child isnt the way to go about it. Furthermore, my initial feelings of rage as a protective father are quite normal and my decision to take a more appropriate route is not something I am ashamed of in the slightest. Neither of them damaged anything and nothing was kicked or struck with any kind of force by either child. You responded defensively and completely missed the point. To scream at the child in an aggressive manner, autistic or not is unacceptable and the employee could have delivered the exact same message in a better tone and achieved far better results. I honestly cant imagine any scenario that aggressively yelling at a person in your store achieves any positive results.

I love this place!! i have had two Nintendo DS games repaired for my kids in a timely manner as well as my husband PS3 for over heating. I picked up the game system and it worked for a few days then stop working. I had no problems from them checking it back out and fixing the problem. i will be taking family members lap top issues to them. they will always have a loyal customer from me.

Eric the repair guy is a genuis, he sees the small things that make the big problems and quickly remedies at the right price. Rockstar service for the average Joe, at very competetive prices.
