They sell good used imports. They go through their vehicles thoroughly and fix what is needed before selling to customers. I bought an G37X from them, knowing they deal with mostly German Cars, which are more complex. I had no issues with that. The Infiniti I got from them is in immaculate shape! Would go back again one day 👍

Bought an audi Q7 from them, vehicle burns a quart of oil every 600 miles. Everytime it rains a new electrical button stops working and another starts. I watched them put an inspection sticker rear struts are smoked, tires were brand new.. not a huge deal. Biggest thing that got me. When I called about the electrical problems, the guy said, is it inspectable? [Which electrical buttons are not] and because there not he wouldnt help me even though it was in the 30 days of buying. Dude sold me a lemon

They are not your average used car dealership. They stand behind everything they sell. If you buy your vehicle there and need service, they discount the hourly rate. Their service is second to none!

There is just no better place to buy a VW/Audi in Maine. I have never worked with a dealer that takes such pride in what they sell... what they do... and the product itself. They are car folks. They love cars. Many dealers refer to cars as units, that is not the case here. I will never work with another dealer in Maine. I have bought 6 cars at Rennen in the last 5 years and I still browse their site at least once a week to potentially see my next car. While VW Audi is their specialty, they do carry a wide variety of cars and they service them all. Its a no brainer if you ask me.Had a large shop look at my daughters BMW, it had a broken coil spring. They estimated it to be an $1,100 fix. Rennen did the job for $350. I know what you are thinking, they had to of cut some corners. They didnt and I trust their workmanship over any large shop that just looks at a book to tell you how much a job should cost.Youre wasting your time at other dealers.

The Rennen team is excellent, professional and did a terrific job under time pressure.I was on a trip from NYC to Lewiston, Maine, with my manual 2003 Audi A4B6 and had experienced ongoing strong continuous vibration noises throughout the gears after shifting lower gears at high RPMs during acceleration on a highway ramp 120 miles south of Lewiston.Initially I went to the other Audi Repair in Auburn, but the evaluation there was poor, took 2 days, no diagnostic tools were used, and no test drive was done to check with me how the noise sounded that I was hearing. They did not even recognize the noise and could not tell what was going on, bust suggested that it would probably be safe to drive home.I remained concerned and drove over to Rennen Performance. The Owner and his mechanic listened very carefully to my description, checked it out immediately and testdrove the car with me. They diagnosed a possible problem with the clutch. The owner ordered the parts immediately overnight and despite an overbooked schedule on their side they fully repaired the car in 1.5 days given my desparation as a stranded traveller. Their diagnosis was correct: broken center rings of the clutch and worn bear ring [see images]. If driven any longer, this could have killed the transmission leaving me stranded somewhere on the way home.Outstanding service and Performance of the Rennen team. THANK YOU !

Had an oil cap pop off while driving. I went to every place imaginable to find a replacement cap to no luck. I found out about Rennen and drove over. The guy went above and beyond; he was able to find me a cap and barely charged me anything for it. I was desperate and this was the only place that didnt try to take advantage of me. Now that I know I will be coming back for maintenance etc. Really glad I found Rennen and I cannot thank them enough again.

Saw on Craigslist they had an add for a 2014 Passat with 99k miles listed at 7999. I go there and the owner proceeds to tell me the price is actually 9899. I show him the picture of the add with the 7999 price, showed him this is the car that has 99k miles and he tells me it’s not the right vehicle even when the proof is right in front of him. Tried to lie about it straight to my face Said that it was even a different color even when it wasn’t. Did the old classic bait and switch which is illegal by the way. Do not buy from this crook. Will be reaching out to my attorney.

Why arent any of the Carfax reports available? They are a very helpful piece of information for potential buyers.

Great place to buy a used car, fast friendly service. I looked at there website, saw a car, called about it, told them Id be there to test drive, had it ready for me when I arrived. Took an Audi quattro for a spin, came back, told them Id be back, called my credit union went back the next day made an offer, sold!!! Just like that. Love the car had one rust spot I noticed after purchasing, called back Diamond was great got it in and back to me, fixed right, in time to store for winter. Will be back for an SUV. Highly recommend them.

I am astonished there are so few reviews. Jake is one of the most honest and forthright business owners I know. I have done business with Jake and Rennen for more than a decade and a half and have never been steered wrong. Jake has always been kind and will give you the shirt off his back to make things right. Jake has gone out of his way to take care of me and has always done more than expected. In an industry where dishonestly is prevalent, you can trust Jake at Rennen.

I had the car in question towed to their lot after speaking with their receptionist, Diamond. The next day I called to check on the status of my car. She didnt even know it was there. After she found the car, I asked her to have the mechanic look over it because I was interested in buying it from a 3rd party private sale and wanted to know what work would need to be done to it to get it on the road and inspected. A few days later she called and quoted me $1800 for a timing chain and a few other minor issues. I gave the green light. After 4 days, I did not hear back and by this time it was Friday, so I called to check up. When I called, Diamond told me the car was ready. Surprised and pleased, I told her I would pick it up on Monday. I got a ride to the shop Monday morning (I live 45 min away mind you & went to this shop based off of a recommendation). when I got there, I paid and the mechanic handed me keys & said I think these are yours. I went to the lot and could not find the car. I went back inside and asked. The mechanic wandered around the lot looking for the car. he commented that this was not his job and he doesnt know where Diamond is. I patiently understood and gave him the benefit of the doubt. Eventually, he realized that the car that I had bought yesterday was still being worked on and wasnt ready. I remained calm and asked why, when, and how much. He said he didnt know and that I should have been called. Frustrated, I left and asked him to have Diamond call and update me before the end of day. At no point did he apologize, but simply blamed Diamond. Diamond called just before the end of the day. She told me it should be done tomorrow. I expressed my frustration to her because she told me the car was done and it was a waste of my time to get a ride 45 min both ways & that I had to Work, so I didnt know when I could make it back to the shop. she too did not offer an apology, but also blamed her co-worker. I found time later in the week to get the car. I spoke with the owner and expressed my dissatisfaction with his workers customer service and lack of care for the poor communication. he too did not offer an apology, but said how much he pays his mechanic to be through, but is too slow. clearly the lack of customer service comes from the top. I parted ways only to find out that the car had issues that this shop failed to find, but gave me a sticker anyways. the break lights were out, the driver side window doesnt roll down, the wiper fluid resivor doesnt hold fluid, the tires are shot, the suspension needed replacement.

They sold me a nice jetta but didnt include the socket to remove the one special antitheft nut on each wheel . not a big deal but the fellow who answered the phone when i called totally blew me off like an imbisil and told me to see a dealer or drive the 230 mi. back to them (rather than send me one)and they could remove them. I have been getting work done on my VW/Audi and BMW by Jake and the guys at Rennen for about 6-7 years. They are the ONLY VW/Audi shop in the state that I would even consider using at this point ... its helpful to go to someone that works on one make exclusively as they are infinitely more familiar with the particular issues of these cars.In January I found myself in need of a second car, so I purchased a 2003 Passat Wagon from Rennen: Buying a used VW from a VW specialist just seemed to make sense to me, as I knew that it would be inspected by someone who I trusted, and actually knew what they were looking at ... not some random moron.So far, 7 months later, the car has been flawless for me, save one random control arm developing play (5mo after purchase - on a 120,000mile car, after a Maine winter) - so this was not a surprise, issue or in any way an expensive fix - all the same, Rennen took care of me with this.Whether its a used car, or just VW/Audi service, I would recommend Jake/Rennen to ANYONE.Thanks guys!-Taber
