Got great help looking for some work shoes, but couldnt pay for what I wanted because I couldnt have my card detail manually entered into register. I understand if it cant be done, but if I remember correctly a lot of reigsters and card readers have the ability to do that (I worked retail and have done it many times) Ill change my review to a 4 or 5 star if someone lets me know if its possible or not possible.

I always go there for sneakers and other branded athletic apparels. They have better prices, meaning cheaper than other sports stores. The store though is a little small and kinda cramped. If its your first time inside its hard to find stuff because a lot of them are just mixed together.

Always friendly and I can always get what I need for a good price.

Second trip to buy two pairs of Shoes that I had to get Corporate to get Staff to search better than two days ago when staff could not locate them lack luster customer service even after asking numerous times for them to check again causing me to make a 30 mile trip again.

The store was clean and organized. We went in to get baseball gear for my son. They had a lot of pants, bats and helmets, but their selection of cleats was a little light and they did not have his size. We will have to order online.

A lot of great merchandise. I found water shoes that I couldnt find anywhere else in town. Employees are always very helpful.

Nice easy location. So much to browse too. I wish I had easier access to their sales flyer. It no longer is a Wednesday sure thing. I miss the 25% or more coupons those flyers have. Well worth hunting one down, even via internet, if you have something pricey in mind. Just remember, it cannot be a sale or clearance item. Im writing this during December. They have a lot of holiday ideas. Sunglasses, emergency solar radios, dart boards, slippers, work wear and workout wear. Lots of unique items, and usually fair priced. I must say though, they could have more help. And help that is more knowledgeable about current sales or stock. Ive run into this problem for about three years now. Come on guys, learn what you have in your store and quick talking to each other so much! Theres a pair of boots I want to buy!

Came in to buy ammo. The lady at the gun desk asked if I had questions. I said Id like to buy some ammo. She promptly turned and asked the next customer if she could help him with his return. Guess these employees dont like doing the background check required to buy ammo? Either way I left.

I was delightfully surprised to see their unique selection from sports products to winter gear is still part of their business model. A lot has changed over the years but Ive been to various branches and have a lot of fond memories from my childhood to adulthood of going here and getting everything from rollerblades to skate shoes, wrestling gear.Auburn is a small but busy little town and Im glad they kept this gem.

I may not be a sporty person, but even I find this little store to be quite useful. From fishing poles to rubber boots, combat knives and pellet guns to work boots, this store has quite literally almost everything that an outdoorsman could ever need or want. Their wide selection of sports gear for many different hobbies and professions for both kids and adults is unrivaled. The prices are unbeatable for the convenience and availability. Nowhere else will offer you stacking discounts every month.

I love shopping here, sometimes I walk in there just to decompress I really enjoyed the atmosphere not the typical loud messy Big 5 here this one is always clean and the staff is friendly they are willing to help but they dont pester you trying to help you or trying to push a sale two thumbs up here. I love looking at all the Firearms very good selection on the firearms and the sales are all over the store 20% off here 20% off there and I walked out if theyre feeling good every time. I also live 2 minutes away so its kind of like my place to go for therapy haha

I wanted to use the restroom and was astonished by how inexpensive their top quality name brand shoes were priced. Ended up getting a bunch of fishing tackle they had for less than $2. Really great deals in best prices Ive seen on fishing equipment anywhere. Huge selection!

Went in for propane mantels and they had plenty in stock. Great customer service helped me find everything I needed.

Really like this store, it pretty much have everything, sports speaking, shoes, apparel, accessories, I mean everything. They have a good selection, prices are ok for me. My husband even gets like work shoes there sometimes...... always nice people, never had a problem with the employees, always willing to assist you if you needed. Great job!

Prices are high. Service not so good with about 90% of the workers there the other 10% make up for where they fail. But only place that sells the shoe husband likes for work.

I went in here last week to look at .22 rifles. The man behind the counter was so rude it was unreal. Asked for my id due to the fact I may be a felon he said. Mind you I was not buying anything just looking. We all know that a background check is done at every sale including your thumb print. So to be called a felon before I even trued to purchase a forearm is unacceptable to me. I have never been asked for I’d to look at a firearm. The legal age to buy a rifle is 18 I’m in my mid fourtys with a grey beard. After being insulted by this man he proceeded to continue with his rude attitude. I was nice and thanked him for his time. I will never step foot in this store again. I used to shop here to buy rifles due to it being local. I know they don’t care but have lost me and my family and friends due to to rudeness.

I like to go to big 5 for tennis shoes.I bought a pair of saucony tennis shoes for about 40.00 they are very comfortable for work.

They have a lot of good items for a lot of different types of sporting and outdoor activities. They were out of some things but pretty good store and good customer service.

They are always super helpful and their prices are shockingly low

For what appeared to be a busy day, I was trying on several shoes, then occupied a lot of time and attention with the ammo/knife counter. Staff was patient and professional, giving all customers equal attention and courtesy.

Always has what Im looking for. This last visit my husband bought walking shoes and they were $18 less than on Amazon! Great cozy sock collection as well!

They have a little bit of everything but dont specialize in anything. Having said that its worth checking to see if they have what you want.

I got a Punching bag and stand, its tooooooooo big for my Honda so I have to get a bigger car and come back and big 5 is just great.

I went in a couple seeks ago to purchase a knife and it was good to see that the employees are well informed about the stock they carry to were there can even recommend certain items depending on its use.

Disappointed in their tennis accessories products. No hand spray for grip, no wrist bands another products. Just the basics.

I am so disappointed in Cheryl, the manager of Big 5 in Auburn, CA.Everyone is familiar with the Campfire Victims. As a community we have all stepped up and helped these people as much as we can. Some of us have offered up our homes to the Paradise residents that lost their homes.I know that I have. My friends from Paradise had their home burnt down. I helped them with a hotel a few nights which is all I could afford. I do not have my own place otherwise they could stay with me.Currently, they are living out of a Uhaul. My friend went to Big 5 in Uburn last night and spoke with the manager, Cheryl. Pleading with her to donate a sleeping bag because my friend and her husband were going to freeze. They did not have the money to purchase one.Cheryl told her No and to go to Goodwill and ask them for one.From what I understand, this woman showed absolutely No Compassion. Was very rude. I guess someone like that cant understand what its like to sleep in the cold. Because, she is a cold hearted woman who doesnt feel the effects of winter when you have no blankets and no where warm to stay.I highly recommend that anyone planning on shopping at Big 5. Go to the one in Loncoln. They are very kind there. I dont doubt for one second that they would donate a sleeping bag to someone.Cheryl, is not a very good manager and definately set a bad example for those under her.
