Buyer Beware: When the cashier asks if you want to sign up for a rewards card, be aware that it is a credit card. They will not ask for your ID when signing up, and they will not tell you that it is a credit card. It will be called a rewards card. I asked during the process if it was a credit card. The cashier repeated that it was a rewards card.After the sign up process was completed and I was informed that I was approved, thats when I realized I had a credit card, not a rewards card. The cashier will refer you to the fine print that isnt there and the sign above your head that only benefits people over 60 to prove that you knew what you were signing up for. The sign up process is not clear, and the cashier continued to push me to sign up, even when I said I wasnt comfortable giving the last four of my social (Its just the last four, she said), especially since they never asked for my identification. The manager didnt help at all. He didnt even give me a number to call to try and fix it. He merely said he would discuss it with the cashier. Given that she was laughing after I returned to get their names, Im guessing their conversation went great.TLDR: The rewards card is a credit card. Dont be fooled by the persuasive cashier and the promise of discounts.

No leadership in any part of the store, and no communication. Plus everything has definitely been up charged, i will not be shopping here again.

There was an employee easily available to help in the shoe section. The line was non existent as they had many registers open and a very efficient system to match open registers with waiting customers. Great experience.

I dont shop here very often, probably because I cant seem to get out of the store without spending a minimum of $200.00. So an occasional trip is ok, when youre shopping for a 6 year old.Theyre kinda limited on options, even at this store, especially if said child is a boy. It seems everywhere you shop nowadays, theres always 3-5 times more selection of girl clothes, shoes, socks, undergarments etc and its really frustrating. You would think with the word Sports in it, they would have a better selection of boy clothes.

If you wear XS, S or 4XL its great. If you are looking for L, XL you are better off going to Sams Club

These people are awesome!! The door greeter worked with 2 other guys to help get my new smoker loaded into our vehicle. They had to disassemble some pieces, but they were extremely helpful and friendly during the entire process. I would definitely suggest this store to others.

I went to Academy specifically to buy a back pack for school. Nothing special, just a good quality backpack that wouldnt fall to pieces in two weeks like Walmart. They had a center rack with about 20 - 30 Addidas back packs (dont like the brand), maybe 10 $50 Nike and ? 10 $85 Nike. ? Sporting Goods store. 😳

I searched high and low for a specific product. I finally came to Academy cause the website said they had it. I went inside looked around, went to the area where it should have been and it was there. I wasted soooooo much time and gas going from Walmart to Walmart and ended up where I should have come in the first place. Thanks Academy for being in stock, transparent and clean.

From the time we entered the store everyone was so great. The two young men at the front were great. Then we made it to checkout and the goodbye from the young men at the door. It was a great visit.

The employees took time and effort above and beyond to get their grill to fit in my vehicle. Overly satisfied. Only critique is have grills still in the box.

Long lines and inattentive staff are the hallmarks of Academy. Expect the staff to be courteous once youve gotten their attention but it seems there just isnt enough of them. The checkout is always 10 minute wait minimum and at this location it was actually more close to 20 minutes. I sat at the sunglass counter ready to purchase a pair of glasses for 15 minutes also. Once I got help the sunglasses were the same price as they are at any other store only, at Academy it comes with the annoying wait at every part of the buy. There selection is ok at best and currently not good at all.

I always like shopping at Academy. Todays visit was as usual very pleasant. The staff was very nice and courteous. As I shopped in different area I had the staff ask if I need help finding anything. The fishing department didnt have a lot in stock with lures but no where I go seems to. I think it may be due to covid-19. I didnt have to wait when checking out there were several cashiers, which was nice. I would recommend others to this store.

Was disappointed to get to the cashier and learn that they dont give military discounts anymore. He said it was a recent change in policy. Very disappointing for all military veterans.

Its an older an that welcomes everyone that comes through the door. He is extremely nice and knowledgeable... The 2 cashiers that checked me out tonight were wonderful ‼️‼️ customer service was 100%. It was one older lady that keep watching me and my family as we walked through the store but I ignored her because I already knew what her problem was. Sometimes you have to look pass people.

Went to academy to buy some bullets. There is a three box limit. I have no problem with the limit as there is a shortage. As I was grabbing the three boxes, an employee in the gun department came by and made a snarky remark stating that I should save some for everyone else, and only buy two boxes. I looked around at the empty shelves, and stated that no one else left me any and made my way to the checkout counter. As I was checking out, I called the manager over to the checkout desk. The manager stated that I should only buy two packs instead of three with an attitude. If three packs of bullets is too much, then Academy needs to reevaluate their policy to only two boxes per person! This store is obviously not interested in making any sales!

Always a stop for my AU Student to reload on goodies for the remaibder of the semester. Always need new running gear & AU hats.

I went to Academy in Auburn, Alabama, last evening around 5 pm, and despite signs saying that masks were required, a sizable portion of the people on line and walking around the store were maskless. I turned around and left immediately.

My husband and I shop at Academy a lot and today was very unusual the store manager named Susan told my husband to wait and allow a car Kasian mail behind him to come first in line although my husband had his receipt in his hand with the exchange item which happens to be our wedding band for outdoors. I have returned things many times with my receipt and have never been turned away and told that another customer behind me should be checked out first this is unacceptable and quite disgusting because he’s African-American and Susan just so happens to be Caucasian.Right is right and wrong is wrong and sadly Academy just lost to loyal customers

Great discount on golf shoes, womens tennis shoes. Lady working that department went out of her way to help us. This store much better than the one in Columbus. Will come back here again. It was worth the 65 mile round trip. Well done!!!!

My husband was looking for peanut oil everywhere before Thanksgiving and most were out or overpriced. Academy not only had it, but had it on sale at a very good price.

It was obviously a great time of day to go there for customer service.I went in looking for a pair of sneakers and there was a very friendly helpful young lady that helped me to make my choice.on the downside, I picked up three shirts that were on a display clearly marked at 499 and only one of those three shirts ring at 499 the other two shirts both rang at different prices. Obviously this is something I will have to go back and correct....

Purchased my first 2 guns today with the help of Sam. He was awesome and answered every question I had and then some. Ill be going back just for him! Couldnt have asked for a better experience.
