Birds seem to be happy and healthy. Birds get a lot of socialization, interaction with customers. Decent amount of bird supplies. Staff very helpful. They do bird boarding here, good to know. The type of bird we wanted to get was very expensive. We got the same type of bird for 1/4 the price somewhere else. Other than that a very good place to go to to visit birds or buy supplies.

Love this shop! All 4 of our birds came from this shop, 2 babies and 2 adoptions! We got to hand feed our babies formula for extra bonding and they are the greatest family birds! Our adoptions were great matches and we were able to bond while we paid off the birds! Love the staff, love the owners! This shop is a must! For all your bird needs!

I have had one of the best customer service in this store. One of the ladies at the front desk, who I believe is the owner, was really helpful! She gave me good advice on what I want to buy, and what and where to look for! I admit that the prices are really high for me, but the birds are fed and raised by the lady, and theyre friendly, thats probably why theyre expensive! I can tell that the owner really cares about her birds, and I would definitely recommend anyone who is looking for a companion bird to come to this store!

Ive been a customer of African Grey for seven years and love it. I purchased my baby Black-Masked Love Bird, Dexter, at AG and have no idea how I would have survived his training without Karen. After losing my budgie, Samantha, I swore I would never have another bird; however, after visiting AG I knew I needed another avian friend and decided to purchase something absolutely opposite of Sam -- and boy did I!! Dexter is entertaining, smart, rude, stubborn, and doesnt like my singing, but I love him dearly and dont know what I would do without him. Were off to AG right now to stock up on pellet!

This store has way too many birds crammed in a too small cages without enough toys (the birds loose on perches have none in some cases). I saw dirty feet stained green with feces on a cockatoo and many unpreened pin feathers on its head. A baby cockatiels entire head and neck were crusted in what the owner said was baby food. Another African Greys beak was overgrown to the point it couldnt close its mouth. The owners claim that they all get attention is dubious at best. There are way too many birds to get adequate attention every day from the 3 people I saw there. They said volunteers come in to spend time with the birds & I should volunteer. If, as a for-profit store, you have to rely on volunteers to meet your animals needs, you have too many birds. They said they take in rescues and consignments (a lot of birds had plucked feathers), but for the prices I saw, you can get a hand-raised baby from a reputable breeder. The birds acted and sounded stressed, following you around the cage desperate for interaction. The store was dirty and poorly lit. I have never written a bad review for a store in my life, but I love birds, and Ive been to bird shops that do it right. The fact that this one is in business bothers my conscience. I think (hope) a lot of these positive reviews are just from people who dont understand birds needs and what a healthy bird and environment look like.

A customer of African Grey for two years, I have had nothing but positive experiences with the staff at this incredible bird store. Their philosophy is second to none and their passion for avians knows no bounds; it is their ethics and integrity combined with their seemingly infinite knowledge that keep me coming back week after week.I became a customer when my husband and I decided we wanted to add a budgie to our home. We brought home first one, then a second, and then a third--weve now moved our way through the avian bird chain to a moluccan cockatoo, one of the biggest and most notoriously curious birds out there.Whether I was visiting daily to play with my sweet baby budgies or asking incessant questions about our newest addition, the staff at African Grey have been unfailingly patient, informative, and friendly. They are committed not only to their birds, but also to their customers 100%.They have everything you could possibly need at their store, from cages to toys to food to the birds themselves. My husband and I will be patrons of African Grey for years to come; through simply frequenting the store, weve met dozens of incredible people who have fallen in love with this bird store. Karen, Carmen, and Jon know pretty much everything there is to know about birds and the patience to help newly-minted avian enthusiasts (and long-term ones!) with their new family additions. We love both the birds and the store!

This stores owner is RUDE AND INSANE!! I spoke with a Bill (not the owner) in the springs. I was looking for a Cockatiel and he recommended the Aurora store. He told me the the store he works for sells the Cockatiels for 180. He said to call the Aurora shop and ask them, then to call him back and let him know what they said. He told me both stores are the same owner. I thanked him and told him I didnt even know they had a store in Aurora. He told me to ask for the owner Carmen or speak with another worker who works there. Carmen was not in so I spoke with another worker. I told her everything Bill at the other store told me. She agreed that the birds there are overpriced but she would call Carmen and ask her if she would lower her price. After she spoke with Carmen, she called me and said Carmen WOULD sell me one for $180 IF I wrote a statement that Bill from the Springs shop was trying to sell me his birds. I refused to do that, since that NEVER happened! I called Bill back from the Springs shop and told him that Carmen was willing to sell me a bird for $180 and he was happy about that. THEN TELL ME WHY, I got a call back from the Aurora shop telling me they didnt want to do business with me?!! WHAT THE HELL DID I DO WRONG?!!! Bill asked me to call him back so I did! Now because Carmen hates Bill and wants him fired she doesnt want to do business with me?! You dont tell a customer that youll sell a bird to them and then back out because your customer refuses to make a statement on something that didnt even happen!!! I will be reporting them on every social media site and the better businesses bureau! Even their workers have told me that they are selling their birds way too high! Seems that they care more about the $ then the loving homes these birds would go to! Sad! Sad! Sad!!!

Extremely helpful and knowledgeable! We have bought four birds from this store and continue to go back for grooming and supplies. We have two orange winged Amazons, a yellow napped Amazon, and a mini Macaw all from Busy Beaks. We live about three and half hours from Busy Beaks Denver location, but it is worth the drive knowing our birds will be genuinely loved and cared for.If you are just starting to think of buying a bird this is the store to go to. They will answer any questions you may have and will not rush your decision on purchasing a bird. If you have been a bird owner for awhile this store offers homemade food mixes and many other toys and goodies for your birds. If you have questions regarding bird behavior, maintaining proper health and enviorment or whatever it may be they are willing to take the time to help you.The owner and her employees truly love the birds they have in their shop and strive to find the best home for each individual bird. Not only do they have babys and young birds, but they house several displaced, and abandoned birds that need loving homes filled with patience. If you are looking for a store that is genuine and focuses on finding the right bird for right customer this is the place to go.

As first time bird owners, we didnt know anything about caring for a bird. Carmen helped us decide on the species that would best suit our son (family). We decided to purchase a green cheek conure. He was just a grey down covered baby when we first got him and needed to stay at the store until he weaned himself (about 3 months). We spent hours a week bonding, holding, playing and helping to feed our baby. Carmen, Bill and Debra went above and beyond teaching us everything we needed to know to properly care for our bird. They gave us instructions on how to prepare his fresh mash (fruit/veggie/grain) but also have it available for purchase if cooking isnt your thing. We have had our bird home for 5 months now and love him dearly, he is even starting to speak! We are so glad we purchased a bird that was hand fed and not one who sat in a big cage at a huge pet store, it makes them so much nicer. We still go in about once a mo th to buy pellets for him and bring him in when he needs grooming. We will be taking advantage of their boarding soon!

This place is nice for visiting all of birds in need of adoption! They are SUPER pricey though! I highly recommend The Gabriel Foundation for adoptions, they have a ton of education, expertise and expertise and will make sure you find the right bird for your family! Busy beaks was formerly The African Grey bird shop off Monoco & Leetsdale. They have a small selection of toys & food and breed birds onsite for sale. They mostly rely on sale on income from sale of birds. Please do plenty of research before purchasing a bird. They are highly intelligent and require lots of attention, lots of expensive resources that must be replaced often and many will outlive their owners.

Busy Beaks (formerly African Grey) is a lovely store run and owned by a knowledgeable and caring staff. They are super busy dealing with all of the rescues, hatchlings, breeders and adoptibles, but are more than happy to answer your questions and help with everything from a particular birds personality to the particulars of bird ownership. While we did not purchase our baby from this location, this is the only place we trust to take her for grooming and boarding.

Terrible place. Dirty and bad service. Dont go there. Prices are very expensive for example you can get a caique from a breeder for $600- $700, Carmen sells them for $1600. She also buys birds off Craigslist and then resells them for almost triple what she got them for. Go somewhere else.

The store is dirty, the bird are not socialized at all because they sit at the front desk talking instead of helping customers or playing with birds. You have to go up there and ask for help and then they glare at you for interrupting. They make up prices and overcharge you on the birds, and when you try to argue that they get pissed at you. They convince people who dont know to buy any kind of bird even birds thats are not compatible at all. Horrible record keeping good luck getting a bird with a hatch date. They dont care about the birds at all just the money. They even put birds with other ones who pick at them, rip off their tails, torment them, and sometimes seriously hurt them. I hope this place gets shut down for animal cruelty.

The weirdest pet store I have ever been to ... We walked in and there were two ladies sitting at the register keeping themselves busy with the computer and an iPad - we walked around and looked at their selection of toys first - not a lot of choices and what is there is outrageously over-priced ... I am used to over-priced - but around $12 for a tiny parakeet toy ( a few metal rings and some bells) - or $18 for a medium sized shredding toy- boings that are parakeet sized for $20- yikes ... they had a bunch of birds in clean cages - however no prices or information posted anywhere- which is no big deal IF the employees had offered their help ( they kept sitting in the front with the computer) - so we wandered around looking at caged birds - some were clearly still hand fed babies huddling in cage corners - clean cage corners but no heating pads or areas for them to hide- these are infants that are being displaye- the smallest babies are in a separate room in brooders thank goodness. There is also a macaw room with big birds ( are they for sale? residents? rescues? who knows ?) - they have handfed parakeets, cockatiels conures, ringnecks, some bigger birds I am sure ( but which ones are for sale - you wont know unless you get one of the ladies in the front to answer your questions?) ... Seed/pellets are very expensive - tiny cuttlebones for $2 a piece spray millet for $1 a spray ( wow) - we were there to look at parakeets but nobody offered help. If they hire clerks that are not outgoing please post at least prices or information on your cages about the birds. The cockatiels and parakeets were clearly stressed and not ready to be in sales cages -Strange store - will not be back- t
